  1. Same. On my recent mission to Eve I detached a probe lander from the mother-ship before the initial aero-braking thinking both would aero-brake successfully. I ended up aerobraking the whole ship, then detaching the probe at apoapsis before raising the mothership periapsis. So the probe could land while the mothership was in orbit.
  2. Perhaps KAC is giving you a larger launch window instead of the exact window? There are a few days, either side of the window, if you're willing to burn a bit more fuel.
  3. On the front page of the thread there are height values or at least fairly good estimates.
  4. Something else I discovered, if you turn the conics mode to, 0 I believe, in the settings.cfg it shows your predicted orbit around the body in question instead of just randomly out in space, so you can zoom in on say Duna and watch your predicted orbit there.
  5. Gotta say Rareden this picture made my day. Your artwork is always beautiful.
  6. Also once we have to actually pay for these new parts there really won't be a point. You most likely won't have the money to unlock all thousand of those at once.
  7. I've been limiting myself to not transmitting anything but crew reports, and data values(thermometer, etc.) except for my unmanned Eve probe. You have to do some interplanetary missions or some serious Mun biome searching to unlock it all.
  8. Landed my first kerbal on Pol with two more ships heading into the system for landings on Vall and Bop. Still have yet to find out if they have the fuel to get home...
  9. Jool near/ high space boundary is 4000 km. Pol near/ high space boundary is 21 km. Vall near/ high space boundary is near 80 km.
  10. Where are you experiencing the lag? If it is close to Kerbin I believe that is caused by the oceans. There was a fix around but I'm not sure where it was. Alternatively if you but your ship/station into a 160km orbit above Kerbin the terrain stops rendering as precisely and the frame rate gets much nicer.
  11. Agreed we really can't judge it until it is more complete.
  12. I feel like the success or failure won't be based on the tech-tree but on the economics of career mode. If you run out of money odds are your space program will shut down.
  13. I can confirm the space near Eve and space high above Eve boundary is 400 km should have info about Gilly, Vall, Bop and Pol soon. Edit: Eve upper atmosphere limit seems to be about 60 km and flying is 20-21 km.
  14. I had no idea!. That will be incredibly useful for my current interplanetary missions.
  15. They were talking about changes and fixes to the new tech-tree in a patch in ksp weekly. Maybe we'll get a few new biomes there?
  16. Launched my 3 ship mission to Jool successfully, unless I find out I don't have enough fuel to get home...
  17. At the moment career mode has just been introduced so there are no tutorials for it yet. So yes trying out different designs and gaining experience in sandbox first is probably the best until the game is complete enough to have working tutorials.
  18. I believe water and land will return different results on Eve however. Not 100% sure since I haven't been there yet, (building that mission now).
  19. For people who do use planes it's a game changer since now all their fuel is twice as heavy.
  20. All it introduces are the parts. It really makes you think differently about how you go about a mission.
  21. I believe the other biomes may be based on altitude similar to highlands and mountains on Kerbin. With terrain mapping this would still work. Perhaps you could start out with just a terrain mapper lower on the tech-tree, then a dedicated biome scanner farther up?
  22. It is possible you just have to move the docking port around a little, also try retracting the landing legs. That should allow the docking ports to fully align.
  23. My single pilot Kerbin SOI craft are the Antares series. We're up to the mark 9 I believe, with 10 successful flights. Jeb insists on calling the Antares 5 flight a success since he did land on the Mun and return safely, even though the craft itself is still in Munar orbit, and he had to be rescued by Bob.
