Landing on any atmospheric planet is pretty easy. Just add wings. Since Duna has the thinnest atmosphere it's probably the hardest to land on. And landing on Gilly with just RCS is VERY easy. But why is Laythe not in this list?

The Manley Challenges: Episode 1
Tex_NL replied to bobmac's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
He's not talking about that any more. Before bobmac edited the OP he wanted you to pick up the old rusty pod from the hangar. -
Are you sure? I thought the number petals has been stock from the start. But you could be right. I do run a crap load of mods. (Including Stock Clamshell Fairings )

RCS Thruster Blocks not working
Tex_NL replied to StarStryder's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
Are the RCS thrusters 'not working' because you don't see them working or are they not working at all even when you keep pressing the rotation/translation keys? In both your images you have precise controls active. The little roll/yaw/pitch markers in the bottom left are blue instead of the regular orange (toggle with [Caps Lock]). With precise controls off RCS blocks always fire at max thrust and you clearly see them. With precise controls on they fire very little at first (and you can barely see them) but get stronger over time. With precise controls on they also only fire as hard as they have to, helping you to keep orientation. -
Yes, stock fairings are very broken, as are procedural fairings and KW Rocketry fairings. The body lift vector is WAY off. But ... they can be fixed with Claws Stock Bug Fix Modules. Among many other issues it fixes the drag and body lift bugs AND lets you choose between clamshell and confetti fairings.

The Manley Challenges: Episode 1
Tex_NL replied to bobmac's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Extremely hard as in impossible? Indeed. As far as I know that pod is part of the scenery. You might be able to destroy it (I've never tried) like the buildings at KSC but I am pretty sure you can not pick it up. @bobmac Please check the Challenge Submission Guide and show us your attempt. Proof that it can be done and you'll get a lot more response. -
My apologies, you are absolutely right. It was getting late when I posted that and wasn't paying enough attention.

Science data contract not fulfilling
Tex_NL replied to Fwiffo's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
As cliché as this answer might be it is pretty much correct. There is something wrong with the contract system. Killing the game and restarting does indeed help in most cases. -
No need to double post: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/index.php?/topic/127598-newbie-here-has-anyone-print-from-eucl3d/#comment-2319501

Please explain something for me. You want people to build you a 100+ Kerbal monster, right? But you say you have an older computer that won't be able to handle a ship that size. So you are not going to use it. Is this supposed to be a challenge or a ship request? If this is indeed a request why would I bother if you're not going to use it? If this is supposed to be a challenge you should have clearly stated that and posted it in the proper challenge section of the forum.

Really? 100+ crew is easy. A Mk3 Passenger Module seats 16. With just 6 of them you're already up to 96. 25.000m/s dV would start to get interesting but that's just a matter of lots of fuel compared to only a few (preferably one) engine. Thing might indeed become a bit laggy and don't expect a high TWR. But this is not a challenge, it's just a matter of piling on more fuel and crew .

Same here. I knew I had seen that station before and it looked way to good to be one of those ugly eucl3d prints.
-
Speaking of Papercraft models. That Duna station IS NOT a 3D print by eucl3d. It is papercraft and it was made by MoffKalast over a year ago. (http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/index.php?/topic/76407-paper-space-program-18-ksp-rocket-parts-papercraft/&page=5#comment-1350349) Please don't claim other peoples work as your own. Give credit where credit is due.

Just a small FYI. This has been done before. http://www.planetminecraft.com/project/kerbal-space-center/ Still I hope you succeed in your ambitious project.

Browsing through today's topics I found at least half a dozen threads that could have inspired this addition. I might slightly edit it a bit but I am definitely adding this one to the list. Not right now as I have more urgent real life things to take care of but it WILL be added. Edit: It has been added.

I know EXACTLY how you're feeling: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/index.php?/topic/127372-stupid-keostationary-contract-wont-complete/ Best advice I can give you is to ignore the issue for the moment. First thing you do after you start the game next time is check this very same satellite. If it still doesn't complete you can shut-down KSP, restart and check again or once again ignore it and check the next time. This is what I did and after a few times it finally completed.

Feature suggestion: holding SAS during EVA...
Tex_NL replied to DomiKamu's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
The answer is simple: Add a probe core. Even the simplest core can hold position. -
The TR-2L Ruggedized Vehicular Wheel and RoveMax Model XL3 have the most traction. Personally I prefer the TR-2L over the XL3 for exploration rovers. The XL3 fits better on mobile bases. Make sure you have enough weight over the wheels. Not enough weight might cause your wheels to spin. This six wheeled beauty managed to climb 45 degree inclines on Minmus.

Or even better: Replace non-Kerbal emoticons with Kerbal emotiocons. The current list of Kerbal emotiocons is, and always has been, too limited.

Sure. And steak diner 7 days a week would be nice too. But since that's not going to happen all I can do is offer you meatloaf.

Bring back launch towers!
Tex_NL replied to Rdivine's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Early KSP used to have a launch tower and users did not particularly liked it. It was part of the launchpad and limited rocket size. A too large and too wide rocket could hit it during lift-off. It was removed from the game by popular demand. -
You are correct, this has indeed been suggested (many times) before. In the mean time you could use a mod like TAC Fuel Balancer to dump your unused fuel.
