  1. About 10 years ago was at a meet&greet from a internet forum I used to frequent. It's real fun to actually meet the people you got to know through nothing but posts on a forum. But that's a completely different story. Well, we all met up at this guys house to have a few beers (obviously it ended up as being more than just a few), good food and a good laugh. Our host was just like the majority of us pretty tech-savvy and had several computers lined up. And we were all free to use them. After several hours had past dusk fell and one of the group decided it was time the computer corner needed some illumination. He looked up from the keyboard and noticed a switch on the wall. Assuming that would turn on the lights he flipped it. ... And everything went dark. Monitors, PC's, printer, router and modem. All dead. Turned out it wasn't a light switch at all. It was a switch that fed the entire desk with much needed power.
  2. Correct. The oxygen carrier in our red blood is hemoglobin which is iron based. A horseshoe crab's blue blood contains hemocyanin which is copper based. Various earth life forms have evolved other metalloproteins so depending on the available elements other (alien) lifeforms could very well do the same. Mr. Spock's green Vulcan blood isn't that far fetched after all.
  3. You can try TAC Fuel Balancer. It allows you to pump fuel around at will. If you set your droptanks to transfer out those will be drained first. And the rest to balance to avoid nasty weigh issues.
  4. I've never liked MKS and before yesterday had never heard of KPBS. I must have missed it when it was released. I gave it a quick spin and came to the only logical conclusion: KPBS is one of those rare mods that deserves to become stock. All I need now is to figure out a way to cram those modules into one of my shuttles to ship them to Minmus.
  5. Sure, the article talks about SETI, but nowhere does it link to ANY reliable reference material.
  6. Any such articles not backed up by organizations like NASA, ESA, SETI etc. have one thing in common: CLICKBAIT!
  7. If you mean they suck because the are INSANELY overpowered then I'll agree with you. The RoveMax Model M1 and TR-2L Ruggedized Vehicular Wheel can reach speeds of about 80kmh (and only break going over 200). Compare that to the real life LRV (Lunar Roving Vehicle). The LRV carried by Apollo 15, 16 and 17 topped out at 13kmh. Spirit and Opportunity on Mars do about 0.3kmh.
  8. can not or can't Even if you couldn't, you can still correct his spelling.
  9. Simple: use the translation tool to slide them down. Just wondering. Where are you planning to send that tower? You might not need three engines.
  10. Please let this issue rest, die and rot. SQUAD shelved the barn for a reason. If you don't know the reasons just search the forum.
  11. The reason you see a large difference between orbital and surface is simple: Kerbin rotates. Even with no or minimal surface speed you still inherit all of Kerbins rotational momentum. Solution: Don't switch to 'orbital' manually, stay in 'surface'. The system will switch to 'orbital' automatically once you get higher up and it becomes relevant.
  12. The embassy of the country you might want to move to can can give you an enormous amount of info. Pretty much all civilized countries have embassies. And all can be easily found on the internet. Simply mail or call them and ask for relevant information. And if you can't find the appropriate embassy you could always ask at your local town hall.
  13. Answer update: Search the forum and find your own answer. In less than a minute searching I found 10 threads. Oldest oldest one is from October 2012. Most recent one? Just 2 months old.
  14. There can be only one. Whitout a doubt the Rhino.
  15. I sincerely hope you'll sell thousands of copies. But I doubt many people are waiting for what is basically a Space invaders ripoff. Doesn't look too bad though.
  16. Try to design more aerodynamicly Do use 'Prevent overheats' This will stop you from blowing up your engines. It's rare but it sucks when it happens. Do not use 'Limit to terminal velocity' It's bugged, inaccurate and therefore doesn't help. Do use 'Corrective steering' This will keep you on track better. AoA at 5.0 is just fine. I've got mine on 10 and never run into problems. Your ascent path is WAY to steep. Start your turn as early as possible with a turn shape of 40%.
  17. As far as I know it does ... absolutely nothing. I guess it's an orphaned option from something that got cancelled or never implemented.
  18. The estimated burn is calculated based the thrust on your previous burn. This thrust information is not saved. Since you've just quickloaded you don't have a previous burn, hence the info is N/A, Not Available. What you could do after quickloading is burn your engines at full thrust VERY briefly. Press Z (throttle 100%) immediately followed by X (throttle 0%).
  19. Only very rarely do I crash my Kerbal craft. Instead the thing that keeps crashing on a regular basis is the game itself.
  20. Earth is not flat. It's as round as a pancake!
  21. All this info is easy to find using google. If you actually know how to use google of course. The space shuttle was the first American craft to use a regular air mixture, roughly 80% nitrogen and 20% oxygen. As far as I can find so does the ISS. The Russian MIR also a similar air mixture but oxygen fluctuated between 20 and 40%.
  22. As unrealistic as a space elevator is both in game as in real life you might actually be able to do it. And perhaps it's easier than you might think: Kerbin-Side. Kerbin-Side can add additional launch facilities. Not sure if it's actually possible but what if you place a new 'launch facility' 2868.74 km above the equator? Add a time delay between clicking launch from the VAB/SPH and actually spawning the new craft on the 'launchpad' to simulate the climb and you're pretty much finished.
  23. You mean those grey tanks near the engine and landing gear? No, those are definitely not KW Rocketry.
  24. Anything over a few grams, forget about it. No really, forget it. Not gonna happen unless you bring a big bag of cash. An engraving or decal? A very tiny maybe. Getting a Kerbal pluche (as fugly as those darn things may be) to the ISS is much more feasible. Getting one there through 'official' channels is unlikely. But one of the astronauts might be a KSP fan and willing to bring one in their personal luggage.
  25. Shame on them??? NO WAY! All the shame is on you. Nowhere in the devnotes has it been said 1.0.5 has been released. All that's been said is 1.1 has been postponed and the next update will be 1.0.5 and will contain a number of updates/fixes they no longer want to keep shelved. If you read it wrong that's on you. Not SQUAD.
