Iiiiiincoming! So I was thinking. While Hitchhikers are great for all your sardine-canning-of-kerbals needs, stock KSP lacks anything that really, truly can be lived in for a long time. So why not colony modules? There's a fair few mods, yes, but the stock game has a certain charm to it, and slamming my new Laythe colony down with nothing but stock parts could be fun. So: /SB-102 "Stowaway" Habitation Module -Stores 4 Kerbals in a science-lab sized module. Rather more comfortable than a hitchhiker, and also posseses a doubled snack load. A significant step up from its smaller cousin. /VB-103 "Ridealong" Habitation Module -Can pack 8 Kerbals in, if you don't mind bunks. While not as luxurious as the Stowaway, it weighs about the same* and carries more crew. Plus, it has Jeb's new Snack Box(little tm thing), as well as carrying a small battery. Oh, and it's 3 meters instead of 2. *Plus or minus a ton or 2.

I just meant "marginallymenclosed flat spot" but that's cool. But replacing the drop pods and cargo bay with one long hangar/runway might be cool. Possibly a though for THE FUTURE.

If they didn't get capture, might as well say heel with it and detonate the fuel tanks. -
Asassins! Aaah! So if I have this right, you're using the (fusion-powered?) ENT-053-A to do the tour? Hopefully less lethal than the czo-tour.
-
And on that note. The big ship. Two things about the hangar: is it just the current open-to-space with exit forward style, or can we get a full-length landing bay? As in, a mini-runway with a small hangar underneath it? And bonus points if you have runways (yes, illogical, but so are space warships) on both the "top" and "bottom" of the hangar.

Long-term Laythe Mission (pic heavy) - ^_^ With Part 45 ^_^

^This. Also, as a corollary: While KAs/Kethane is fun, throwing airships (Hooligan Labs) and maybe Firespitter into the mix would let you go airshipping around Laythe, cruising on Eve (You could send more, non-permanent colonists if you can use a balloon to lower your Eve-launch mass), or maybe even build flying bases. -

Too dark to Disney. People, you know, actually die. Disney cannot into people dying. Especially cute green guys. -
Personally? -Kerbals' green gives them photosynthesis. Given this isn't enough to support them, Snacksâ„¢ exist to supply essential energy and nutrients. -Kerbals quite literally do not understand why one would need violence. At all. -They require both genders to reproduce, but do so via spores; so the little patch of dirt on the floor at home is an upcoming kid. -Their suits (helmets, specifically) are quantum-enhanced, rendering them reeeeaaally tough. Not so much the Kerbs themselves. -Darker note? All kerbs tend to be a tad scatterbrained, and Jeb is actually schizophrenic. Not that it impinges on his badassitude, though.

I'd have no issue with box colliders, myself, if they make your life easier

Coooool. So the Big Four do appear tob e on the crew, or did I miss something?
-
I say wings on the DropShip because, well, it's meant to fly into an atmosphere, drop troops, then leave, and your efficiency (and cross-range ability) improves dramatically with wings. Maybe foldaway wings, like carrier aircraft?

A type of (very, very toxic) rocket fuel. -

Longevity award! Well done. -
Remember, this removes lag, not the physics limitations.

Taking off in a spaceplane: 1. Ensure staging is correct. 2. Ensure air intakes are, in fact, installed. 3. Replace panel cover before flight. 4. Return tray to upright and locked position. 5. Activate engines, apply brakes. 6. Spool up to 1/3 thrust, check for fuel flow problems. 7. Final checks on all of the above. 8. Release brakes, throttle up, hope.

The phrase is "son of a _____", normally, so it wouldn't be mother of a _____". -
An entire fleet of ScienceStars. And bases. And shipyards. And orbitals. And have a system-spanning SCIENCE crusade.
-
Hm. Iiiinteresting... So is the RNG deciding the crew, or are the Big Four pretty much inevitable? 'Cause the Four are awesome.
-
Wow. THAT is a solar array.

Personally, the DropShip could (maybe) use some wings, if only for Rule of Cool. However, perhaps take the little geass emblem out of the texture? I have no issue with it, but other folks might want to put their own flag on it or whatever, so Also, from what you said, the other Viper models might work better for you; the Mk. II (I'll find a picture later) is essentially the same as the VII, but blockier and more squared off. But from what you said, the fighters will probably look awesome anyways. Also, not sure if you're planning on this, but giving the fighter wings - or just wing-shaped bits - would probably make it look quite good. Also, if they're forward-swept, bonus points.
-
I am quite literally bouncing with joy right now.
-
There's no exhaust plumes, right? Maybe center the thrust on the pylons, not the nacelles themselves?
-
http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20121030095418/snubfighter/images/c/cb/Viper-mk7.jpg A Mk. VII for you. And for the parts, maybe 1 for the cockpit/nose of the fighter, one for the engines, and one for the docking unit? Maybe the weapons clip overtop the cockpit? IDK.
