It is possible to achieve via save file editing, if you don't have/want actions on the fly. It's rather neat the way they've got it happening IMHO* *Not a programer, don't assume I know what I'm talking about Standardising action groups, planing ahead, and leaving gaps are ways around it. My pet peeve is when people eat without keeping their lips closed. Ugg. Are you a savage? The sound! Yuck. the way that the staging and the exit VAB buttons sometimes overlap. It makes editing risky.

I'm not sure I'd call this essential. I've never felt the need to have them. Perhaps this could be achieved via adding tweakable strobing to the existing lights? Then they can be adjusted both for cool disco party things, and to comply with Earth standards. I agree that the stock lights always glowing while isn't good- it's confusing sometimes.

The brain is never inactive during sleep. The life form continues existing. The life form who was originally born continues to live. In fax machine teleportation, the original organism dies. There is no reason to assume consciousness transfers, and no objective way to test this.

I like the "garbage crater" approach. For my own M.I.S.S.S. and Prograde City, I just flung the junk into the sky and let it land (crash) unloaded. Where abouts is this Mun base btw? From the kerbin sky position, it can't be to far from my own.

True, but the result is the same. Death. I prefer forms of transport that deliver me alive to my destination, rather than ones that deliver an indistinguishable copy to the destination, killing me.

Any human fax machine type transporter will not be used by me. The "Soul" issue aside, we know the brain is what experiences consciousness. If the brain is destroyed, and a new one created, the consciousness is being ended, and a second one is created. Only to observers other than the original at the time of destruction, will the person assembled be the the same person as the original. Even the copy will respond as if they are the original. From the point of view of the person being "transported" it will be death. We have no reason to assume consciousness will magically transfer from one identical body to another. (This is also why I've never accepted the clone = return from death idea.) I somewhat value my continued existence, and ability to experience the world, so only trust a teleporter that would be wormhole based.

Been trying to make a Real Solar System, stock-based Apollo replica. With lots of detail. At 2468 parts, it wouldn't load on the pad. And I hadn't even made the first (lowest) stage yet.... I decided to give up and use procedural tanks for the lower stages. But, at about 1000 parts, it was pushing it again. I might have to give up on using super engine clusters to lift it... Instead I took my Saturn IB inspired rocket for a run. Then accidentally staged away everything I needed to circularise. So chilled on a sub-orbit until it was time to face reentry without the intended shields. Despite running out of power, they made it home- one parachute didn't burn up, that was all we needed. I also experimented with soccer balls. Self mobile ones, that don't need no clumsy kerbals.. And did this. But that's a story for my cannons thread...

Now, when the eight bit version comes out, the song is ready..
