Ooo, Cool! This will be worth staying up for. Might have to go out and look at the Moon later.

Resources - postponed, cancelled or reserved for a DLC?
Tw1 replied to czokletmuss's topic in KSP1 Discussion
The thing that many seem to be overlooking, is Kethane already supports multiple resources. Just no one has made use of this, apart from the Ore for the extraplanetary launchpads mod. There was a project somewhere to make a mod that took advantage of this aspect of Kethane to make a more complex set, but no idea if it's still going, or anything came from it. -
I've kerbalised a few things for Christmas. But they have threads of their own, so I'll just put teasers here. This was an Australian song: This was written for the arrival of the last update, but the thing it's based on was about Christmas all the same:

I prefer having specialised fuel tanks. Different fuels have different properties, and need to be stored different ways. It adds realism to me.

Ooo! Readers! With comments! Yay! Yep! I've been planning this for ages, and don't plan to give up any time soon. Pretty much! There's a bit more to it, as we will find out quite soon. In the next few days, if I'm not distracted, or busy. That will wrap up this part (or perhaps I'll call it a chapter) and we'll move on some exploration.

Resources - postponed, cancelled or reserved for a DLC?
Tw1 replied to czokletmuss's topic in KSP1 Discussion
It's a fair point about asteroid mining, but unless its a full on sci fi level space civilisation, I don't see why you'd need to go to space to get something you can mine or recycle. On Earth or Kerbin. Unless its for things that can only be got, like possible fuels for fusion power from the Mun or Moon. But Kerbals don't have that level tech either. I'm all for resources, but I'd sooner see more detailed levels of science, to make long term missions more fun. But I'm not particularly interested in running a mining program. But resources adds extra opportunities for long term missions, and bases. -
Nice touch with the page folding.

One thing I noticed in the stream, someone said that Goo no longer resets after you transmit, to stop science spamming. I hope this won't apply to everything. It makes sense that the materials bay and Goo experiments only work once, but you should be able to check a reading from a thermometer anytime. I like using them over and over again, not to spam for points, I just like doing things thoroughly.

Hehe, thanks! What I did for most of those, was put medium wheels on decouplers, and drove them into position. I later recovered the wheel debris. But As for the stalls, I hyperedited that into place.
-
He He, that's what I do. It's great when you time the slide just right, and it comes to an end just near your spacecraft. The trick is not accelerating to fatal speed.. BTW, what part of the Mun was that? It looks nice, I'd like to visit.

More pictures! Firstly, this overhead projector screen (got to save money somewhere) had the day's schedule displayed. And our first speaker: The audience was blown away!
-
It was all a photoshop job, those are just regular I-beam thingies. I did think about making it as a kerbtown object, but then I'd have had to worry about making it look convincing, texturing and colliders and all that.Though putting in all the kerbals under lag took quite long anyway. But maybe later. It'd be like a street market. Soon:

Jeb's Locomotive! [Stock old-fashioned train replica]
Tw1 replied to Jamie Logan's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Wow. Very much like an old American steam loco. Very well done! I like the detail with the use of the round plate thing (forgot the name) on the inside. -
I thought what a real kerbal convention would look like. It's got to have stalls. Stalls which show of all the tales, mods, craft, and other wares kerbalists love to trade in. Have a peek: I hope you enjoy it, as it took hours. It's very empty, as it's still the early morning. I let my own kerbal staff in first. Not all the stands are manned yet. Most stands had to be shared, unless there wasn't space to store wares. Or sales-kerbals. That Kerbal seems to have fallen through the floor, and can't get up. Click to see in full detail! Thanks to everyone whose stuff I included, I hope are all happy to have your images used this way.

I'm happy without it, I like to think the kerbals consider 24 hours a day for some reason. As really, if day time was three hours long, nothing would ever get done.
-
What have you done to poor little Minmus? I think I prefer the original system. Except for Tylo, the current one is pretty ordinary, and that version looks like there would be some interesting sites to go poke about.

Watsan performed a capture burn of about 300m/s, followed by a plane change of another 300m/s. This left him with half the lander's fuel remaining. From this, he estimated he had about 650m/s left, and gave himself the go ahead to land. Lacking high tech niceties like mechjeb and kerbal engineer, Watsan had to find another way to land with precision. Putting the ship into a very low orbit, he waited until the markers of Prograde City were visible in his helmet HUD. Unfortunately, his trajectory didn't pass right over his destination. Watsan burned, trying to get closer, but the high TWR of the lander made it hard to make small changes, so he settled for a spot near by. Then, he heard the sound of the engines flaming out. Out of fuel! Only one thing to do. A very traditional landing for that class of vessel. But, he was now on the Mun, and just a short hop away from the base. In the background, you can see the twin prograde peaks. The Mun's orbit line passes between them. * * * Inside the base HQ . Mallie Kerman: "The seismometers have confirmed touchdown. Combining them with the radar telemetry, and he should be about 1.5 km south of here." Dontop Kerman (base commander): "Fantastic! I'll get Joefel to go pick him up in the-" ♪DING-DONG♪ (Yeah. My base has a doorbell.) Mallie: "Someone's requesting entry at airlock two!" Dontop: "Oh. Cancel the rover. Lets go to airlock two." * * * One day later, Kerbin and Eve reached optimum alignment. The Mun would reach the transfer angle in a matter of hours. It is traditional to have some sort of ceremony before an interplanetary launch, and the kerbals of the Mun base did the best they could. There was the traditional flyover! Of sorts: Then eight kerbals formed a guard of honour, as Watsan approached the vessel that would become his home for the foreseeable future. Dontop: "I would like to read a poem. Ahem. They shall not grow old, as we who are left grow old," Seetop: "Pst! Bro! Wrong poem!" Dontop: "Oh! Um, give me a minute." Jebediah: "Come on, Time's a wasting!" Dontop: "Oh, um, go forth in the name of peace and discovery, and make us all pround. Good luck on Eve! That ought to do it." Jebediah: "There you go man! Now get outta here !" T-minus 5.. 4..3..2..1 And we have lift of on the first manned mission to launch from the Mun!

Put A Bus In Orbit Around Kerbin
Tw1 replied to The Jedi Master's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
I tried to fly a bus into orbit once. This one didn't work so well. -
If it was released then, I wouldn't be able to play for a few weeks, as I will be leading on the state's most awesome. Youth camp. Not that it would matter, I'd get home to find my favorite mods updated, hopefully.

I've done that. Have some surplus photos from the story/song I finished of today.

The Mun one is pretty cool, with the diamonds.
