Well my Kerbals stranded on Duna made it back in Kerbal fashion and still kicking.
-
Well got my Kerbals to their rescue craft. Craft even has enough fuel to make it into orbit. Almost enough to make it to the refueler. Distance I drove without F9'ing it. Made it all in one go.
-
Finally got my rover to my stranded Kerbals on Duna only had to drive over 200 km to get there and now a 65 km drive to their escape vehicle after I get something to munch on.
-
Drove around Duna some more and kept crashing rover and re-loading quick save. Decided I need to brake down and build a Dwarven Flying machine as it would be much safer then driving on Duna for such a smallish rover I have. And wishing I would stop getting logged out ever few seconds from forums.
-
Today I found out my rover can catch some good Duna air while it makes its way to my stranded Kerbals: Also noticed that I drove over 30 km from my initial rover landing spot with not sight for the distance away from mystranded Kerbals.

Yeah. I', loving that joystick. Even though it needs maintance. Then again. Dropping it does not help. Anyways sending this off to Duna to rescue my Kerbals that are stranded there. Had to redo the rover as it did not have enough parachues for Kerbin. Well it did. Just badly placed for what was needed. So figured I need to redo the one in orbit: I then found out that if you tried to use note pad like I normal do to a quick fix to get better designs up with less hassle. It kills the save completely. Found that out do to my rover that was on Kerbin. The Kerbal in the external seat kept falling through it and then proplty getting run over by the rover bug. Had a Kerbal stranded at the North Pole of Kerbin and found out the rover became bugged after I ewent to drive it around to find secerts:

Yes there is a picture. Just taken at night right after landing. (Could suggest looking dead center at your screen to turnning up the gama might help. Don't know yer settings. Anyways.) For joysticks. You could try the Logitech Extream3D Pro which might be around $60. Not bad for what it is. Also had a good launch where my fun solid fuel rocket start had a nice intrecept with my Kerbal Duna Rescue Craft with Rover. true my little drone did not have enough liquid fuel. But, it was still nice since I hardly have the patients to wait for such a launch setup. Usually not able to such a clean one do to verious reasons as well. Saame picture of Duna yestarday but during the day and happy Kerbals inside the can lander.

So true. And SuperWeegee4000: It is called don't ask. Dont tell. As you Don't want to know. Ok. The Whack is finally considering modding up. I'm thinking... kethane. Installation, simple enough... now to build a giant mobile roving mining and refining facility that can self-orbit from the Mun. Ok, hate to bump my own thread, but the Whack's got a problem. I've got Kethane installed. I've got a probe going around and scanning the Mun even now. But... the map isn't showing. If I zoom out, it briefly appears, then it shrinks away and it's gone. Now, I'm sure I'm not the first to have this issue, but either there isn't a lot said on the 'net, or my google-fu master would be ashamed of me. Suggestions?

A true today picture of my first Duna as well as Kerbals landing on another world that is not in Kerbin's SOI. If you noticed something missing in the pic. I landed a wee bit to hard while thrusters where still engaged. Needless to say they flew off leaving the can lander behind. Stranding Seegas and Thompner dirt side. While another Kerbal that was left in orbit sends out an S.O.S. back to Kerbin. Atl east they will have plenty of time to study the place till I build and send a rover to them.

I got this Kerbal Lander with Refueling Station around Duna last night. Dang Ike made me waste a lot of fuel as well as time that ws supposed to stay in the lander as well as Refueler (emergence escape craft). Sent another refueler out to Duna yestarday as well. Now waiting for refueler to get there as well as thinking of some new designs for a rover for Duna as well as a seprate return craft for the Kerbals.

Looking good. =^.^=

That is wierd. One would expect you not to get it? As it fixed my problems of not flying straight with only one I.R.W. and I never had a need for 170 struts either? What the heck is the moster you're trying to lift? Pictures of it please.
-
Have you thought about using the new quad or try parts for lifting? As you could always use dacking ports attached to thrusters.
-
Tested rocket after the new 0.21.1 came out. Finally the I.R.W. works at holding spot. Tested my space plane after hearing that while S.A.S. is engaged. The nose drops when pitching to the left or right. Which I confirmed for myself that it happens to my space planes too. Other then that Bill Kerman is happily sitting in that plane whiledrifting upon the big blue wet thing.

I don't care for the new S.A.S. do to it is to weak to the point where I want it to act like what it says it should. I need to add way more S.A.S. Then one would think is needed at least for probes. I liked how the S.A.S. was in 0.20 for probes and Command Moduals without the A.S.A.S. added on. Where if you had S.A.S. on it would eventually cancel out the momentum. For myself. That is all the S.A.S. should be doing. I do miss the Kung Fu Death Grip of the Old A.S.A.S. though. Edit: Forgot to mention. I do love the rest of the update. Enjoying the view of the KSC at night and enjoying the Mün do to the fact my old saves still have working ships there for some reason. Also found out why Jeb never came back to being available. He was hiding on the Mün as well as a few other stranded forgotten Kerbals.

What's the first thing you did with the new patch?
Aragosnat replied to Whackjob's topic in KSP1 Discussion
May you not kill them all in one fowl swoop. -
Yeah. Prefer it if it snapped the ship in half to not doing anything till I reach 10 km and up. Just got finished putting a probe up. with just One S.A.S. and A.S.A.S.. Add to keep my speed down around 30 m/s just to be able to manually fly it as with S.A.S. engaged it was fighting me to much or if not using it might as well say I never added it.
-
Might have to try that then tosee if it truly works or not. Edit: Did not work in the least bit. Still went spinning out of control with only one S.A.S. and one A.S.A.S. Looks like I still need 8 more S.A.S. Just to get it to fly stright.
-
Uhm. They all come with a reaction wheel built in. Except the "EAS-1 External Command Seat." Which has none. Probes have less then 1.5 torque with the smallest having a torque of 0.2. So why do the probes have torque if S.A.S. is not equiped? I find that strange.
-
Well here ismy first craft from scratch taht made it into space: Had to add an additional 8 S.A.S just to make it stable enough to in addition to the probe and A.S.A.S. and S.A.S. that I had on it when I first tried the design. True. Imight need more struts. But, then again. Never had problems till now with completely symetric designs.
-
Well yestarday for myself. Tested out some simpleNuke powered refuelers after smoking myself while roasting marshmellows over an open fire. Today found out the servers are under heavy heavy load. Only to find out when I pause downloading some of my updating steam games that KSP went 0.21. Now waiting to download so I can plot killing Kerbals off in pretty fireworks.
-
Yestarday I did my first dock in space around Mün. Before that rescued some kerbals stranded on Mün ran out of fuel. But, had enough for stable orbit. Hence the need to send refueler to dock with it. Then returned to Kerbin only to find out that even though the craft slowed down to 7 m/s a second. The poor hitchhiker still went boom. Killing the 3 rescued Kerbals. At least it was a burrial at sea. Since it is where the craft splashed downed. At least Bill, Bob and Halzon Kermin lived this time around.

Yeah. Duna Landings are intresting to say the least. My firs t one was with a probe. Which upon landing fell over and started to brake dance. Intentional in my case. Was trying to get it to be on its landing gears so I can extend the comms. Sadly it then once on its feet decided to have a sled race down hill. Which allowed me to see it do some nice jumps before reaching speeds where friction killed it.

Yer designs are getting smaller and more compact for sure.
