  1. I did an SSTO by being a nasty copy-cat and replicating the Skylon. It was a little more powerful since I didn't bother with payload bays and I managed to completely negate the need for RCS, meaning reentry went from very hard to impossible....so I sent a pod up to meet up with it and rescue Jeb from orbit, so much for reusability I suppose.

  3. That's simple, just look at the last node it unlocks, change the name to "start" and delete every other techlimit entry.
  4. After about 200 hours of PS3 GTA V I can safely say I'm playing a lot more on PC. My issues with the game are the resolution (720p on a 1440p monitor is really bad), FPS (around 20 is my guess), very slow loading times/a lot of waiting and the broken online lobby system which plain doesn't work for playing with friends. Other than that, the game itself is fantastic. Its attention to detail amazes me to this day for example, I can't wait to see it in all its glory at 60FPS and full res.

  6. It is possible to launch even with unshielded wings, it won't be easy though. I managed to do it even with RSS so I'm sure you can do it in stock. You basically need huge fins on your rocket all the time you spend in the atmosphere and don't even attempt a gravity turn until almost out of the atmosphere, go straight up and hope it won't flip around.
  7. I posted this a few weeks ago, Ferram is aware of it. Seems wings and control surfaces don't get shielded anymore for some reason, just gonna have to wait for a fix.
  8. You don't have any other mod that uses toolbar? If not then come on, it's like 50x50 pixels or something, it won't bother you at all.
  9. Real planets will eventually be a thing for RSS, it is called Real SOLAR System after all. No point in making the stock planets just bigger look good with EVE.
  10. Oh no, I feel really stupid now. I used IR for KSPI receivers so I only copied over the hinge parts so I kind of didn't know/read what the other parts do, I assumed the thing that rotates is also capable of being free moving but there's no point to change that since there's a part that does that already which you just pointed out to me.
  11. I vote for KSPAE method, I've been using Procedural Parts for a while and never had an issue with the way resizing works. Not sure if it's been asked before but is it possible to have the rotatron be free to rotate by external forces? Like using it as a base for a rotor or something like that.
  12. No axial tilt isn't possible in KSP. This has been thoroughly discussed in the RSS thread multiple times, the only way to simulate it when it comes to seasons is changing the orbit inclination, which is how RSS does it so that Earth has the correct seasons.
  13. That's from radius settings. You need inner radius at least the size of the planet 6371km.
  14. Give output_log so we can help, but to me it looks like an installation error, it's probably KAE not loading since that's what fairings use for their tweaking. If you have Procedural Parts make sure you're using the latest version as the earlier ones are incompatible with PF 3.0.
  15. Pics, are you starting gravity turn at 100m/s like you should? Do you have control surfaces on the bottom? Heavy drag in front?
  16. Yes but if you mess with radii then you get more black sky when you look straight up. I really wish there was a way to make atmospheres real, even on super thick atmospheres you can see black when you look up whereas on Earth you'd need to be quite a few km up, I imagine 15-20km to see the black of space. Also, alt-G in game? That will save me so much time, no more restarting the game every 20 seconds.
  17. The EVE Overhaul looks much better and you don't have to change the altitude yourself. However it seems to conflict with RSS at the moment. So as far as I know, there's nothing you can do for the official version of EVE. I tried to get rid of the white and it is possible by using atmosphere from ground in the RSS config but that produces some weird multicolored bands visible from orbit. I think overhaul is also going to fix this issue when it is released, rbray mentioned he wants to get rid of the white horizon. To expand on atmosphere from ground, you can use the wavelengths from better atmospheres and write them in your RSS install. Remove the foo from AtmosphereFromGround and it'll work.
  18. I'm guessing it's because jet engines and rotors in ksp don't really have the engine part, so this is simulated by moving the mass towards the body of the aircraft.
  19. You need around 9-10 km/s delta-v for LEO. You're gonna need to define what high means, if it's GEO then that'll be about 4km/s extra. It doesn't matter what payload you have, it's the same delta-v.
  20. I guess it's in the water? Spam where recover would be above the altimeter and it'll eventually work.

Should be balanced. Remember to change the name of the part you're duplicating.
  22. Are you using Nathan's RSS city lights for Earth? You can get them from his GitHub repo.
  23. Nothing, nobody has edited the PQS for Eve to change its color. You can get a fake Venus with EVE clouds, but from the surface it'll still be purple.
