  1. Part 2: Journey to Dres Beep! Beep! Beep! Kirgan: “Looks like the Dres window has just opened and our burn is in a few minutes.†Jeb: “Okay, I’ll go outside and check the hull.†Bill: “Burn in 3… 2… Now!†Bob: “Sensors read that all ten engines are performing normally.†Kirgan: “Well that’s good news… We don’t want a radiation leak.†Jeb: “Wow, I can practically see Minmus getting farther and farther away.†Kirgan: “We are going at like ten times its escape velocity.†Kurt: “Everything looks good guys. Mid-course correction will be in a few days.†*** Bob: “Dres encounter confirmed…†*Cheering in the control room* Kirgan: “Hold on… our fuel levels aren’t looking so good.†Jeb: “Don’t worry dude, we’re already on our way.†*** Mechjeb: “SOI CHANGE DETECTED†Jeb: “Finally! KSC, we have reached Dres.†Kirgan: “Prepare for retro burn!†It was at this point that the two brave Kerbals began to realize their fuel situation. However, they continued with the burn as if nothing was wrong. Until of course, things went very, very wrong. Jeb: “WHOA!!!†*Various alarms suddenly activate* Mechjeb: “WARNING, FUEL LEVEL CRITICAL!!!!!†Kirgan: “AHH! I told you this would happen!†Jeb: “Quickly! Transfer all fuel to the main engines. Full RCS, and activate the Kethane converters!!!!†*Kirgan frantically flips dozens of switches* Bill: “Guys? Guys! What’s wrong?!†Kurt: “Oh no…†Mechjeb: “FUEL DEPLETED!!!!†Jeb: “Um, we did make orbit right?†Bob: “Hmm let me see. Yep, you’re in orbit, why ask?†Kirgan: “Well, you might want to see this…â€Â
  2. ASAS: *Reads Ksp Weekly* ASAS: "WHAT!!! What is this nonsense! I never signed up for surgery!"
  3. 0.16 I played the demo for about 5 minutes...
  4. Don't worry, I'm sure its just a blue light bulb and some steam put on there by one of the Kerbals as a joke...
  5. I'm not trying to start an argument, but it does have to do with suspension. I can see how invisible parts of the surface can trigger it, but visible parts also cause it. Unless maybe every slope change has an invisible part to it...
  6. I'm not sure what you're talking about, I can definitely confirm that this only happens with one kind of wheel. Also, while the wheels are "bouncing" the rover cannot steer of brake, pretty must all control is lost.
  7. Are they tidally locked to eachother like the Duna system?
  8. Hmm, well I might try re downloading (I already have .20.2 ). But that's kinda hard to do because of my horrible internet.
  9. Does anyone else see an Apollo CSM near the top?
  10. Okay... Can you give us your Hard drive so that we can have the picture?
  11. Does anyone know how to use the new wheels from .20? I tried to make a rover with them, but it seems that every time the suspension uncompressed ( For example, when going down a slope ) , then the wheels would start bouncing slightly, thus causing the rover to shake violently and immediately lose control. This seems to happen on every planet and with every rover design using 0.20.2. So, does anyone know a way to fix this without just putting a 50 ton weight on top of the rover to keep it on the ground. It took at least a hundred quickloads just to travel 30 km on Tylo.
  12. I completely agree, but unfortunately for me: Rocket - Asparagus =
  13. The winch didn't actually do anything, it was extended just so that Jeb could get back up if he ran out of jet-pack fuel. Though, the ship did need Mechjeb to keep it in an upright position. As for the TWR, I think it was like 15 or something.
  14. It's on the front page for me...
  15. Part 1: Kethane on Minmus KSC: “Come in Odyssey, do you read us?†Jeb: “Yep, we read you, any news?†Bill: “Indeed, we ran some simulations and it looks like you are a go for landing. And Kirgan, you’ll have to take the lander and park it in orbit so the Miners’ drills can reach the ground.†Kirgan: “Fine, but you owe me, I haven’t been to Minmus before, remember?†Bill: “Sorry, but Jeb is the Odysseys pilot, and the lander cannot be controlled remotely.†Jeb: “Okay, enough you two, and I’m pleased to report that our sensors have detected a huge Kethane deposit down on the surface.†KSC: “Alright, now get going!†Jeb: “Okay, I’m in position and the guidance system in on.†KSC: “Remember to use Mechjeb, you can’t turn the Odyssey on your own.†Jeb: “Deorbit burn in 3… 2… 1… Jeb: “Landing legs deployed†Kirgan: “Careful! Even the slightest mistake can destroy the entire ship!†Jeb: “Annnd, ground contact, activating RCS to stabilize!†Bob: “That looked like a close one Jeb, and you’re clear to start mining.†*** Jeb: “Hmm, has anyone ever wondered why all these boulders are completely different than the rest of the surface?†Kirgan: “It was like that on Vall too, weird…†*** Kirgan: “Jeb, come in Jeb! It looks like the Sun is setting at your location, its time to shut down the Miner for the night... Jeb?†Jeb: “Ahh, such a pretty rock…†Kirgan: “Jeb… Have you been staring at the same rock all this time?!†Jeb: “Ummm, no… Anyways, I’ll go back in and take a- WHAT THE!†Kurt: “Jeb, what is it!†Jeb: “Uploading pic now, you guys have got to see this sunset.†Kirgan: “How? What… What is THAT!†Jeb: “Well, I guess that’s what a sunset on Minmus looks like…†*** Jeb: “Okay it looks like that tanks are full.†Bill: “Alright, you’re cleared for takeoff.†Jeb: “Affirmative! Whoa! I wasn’t expecting that much TWR!†Bob: “Slow down, that’s 600 thrust coming out of those engines!†Kurt: “Stable orbit confirmed!†Kirgan: “And I’m on my way to you now.†Kirgan: “Well, I guess that was good practice for the mission. I’m coming back to the cockpit now.†Jeb: “Welcome back!†Kurt: “Alright, the Dres window should arrive in a few days.†Meanwhile at KSC… “Bus†Driver: “Can I go home now?â€Â
  16. Yep, the ship itself is 4 parts all docked together in orbit. Making them symmetrical just takes a lot of patience. And by the way, the next chapter should be up soon.
