  1. Hello Is there any means to make the B9 aerospace cargo bay open on the belly? As pieces are not symmetrical I don't see how to do that, unless to attach all pieces upside down and also cockpit....
  2. Sorry my question was not good! I am talking of parachutes for breaking aircraft on touchdown! Well, i use chutes on rockets, i used them on Duna and on Eve and it was perfect. Also on kerbin But when i tried to use them for braking my aircraft landing at 80m/s on Kerbin runway they just opened and were torn away a second later! But i must say i am using FAR, so may be it's the problem....
  3. Hi everybody, What parachutes do you use on landing? The stock one are torn away on deployment.
  4. OK, if you strut, to unhood you use ullage motor? It does not break anything?
  5. Hello guys, I am wondering how to lock, tanks, satellite or something else in MK2 or MK3 cargo hold. I see attach nodes but I am unable to attach any docking port or anything that would hold in place my freight. Any advices? Must be so simple I don't see it!
  6. Hi guys Question about cargo bay: How do you attach cargo inside? there is attachment nodes but I can't put any docking port or anything else to attach cargo....
  7. Well I made it easier than I was thinking on 3rd attempt. I descended on prograde, then I just switch to Pilot assistant at 40000m, set a heading and a -300m/s vertical speed, relight engines at 30000m et let it go. Then I reduced the vertical speed while descending. It was quite simple. In real life Autopilots works better than man. For climb, I used Pilot assistant with heading and V/S. Around 25000m on turbojet, when the aircraft began to wobble around mach 3.3, I started Rockets, I switch RCS, I disconnect pilot assistant and switch on Mechjeb Ascent with a 25% ascent profile. This was sufficient to pass quickly through the wobble, much easier than keeping on pilot assistant. Looks like a piece of cake..... I leave turbojet as long as possible, then switch them off around 30000m. On descent I switch from Mechjeb to Pilot Assistant, then I landed on manual. a piece of cake too. No wobble, no spin ! just straight ahead.... 30% fuel and oxy remaining...
  8. Thank's for all your advices. I was Able to send on orbit my first FAR SSTO with 40% fuel and oxy remaining. Take off 50 tons I need some advices for re-entry. Here is the first time, I loose a fin but was able to recover from stall on entry. Don't know how! Second time I did not succeed
  9. What about this: Selecting a vertical speed 60m/s, the PA can't track this VS above 15000m, unless I enter a bigger value, like 100m/s. The plane is perfectly flyable, no great AOA, not near stall... Then I had to enter more than 100 aver the value to fly the VS and it was fine. I am wondering if it is not a lack of pitch authority?
  10. Thanks for all explanations I think there is a small bug when i select "show control surface" i see: YAW, Bank and Yaw again. I think the last one should be pitch ??
  11. OK thanks Crzyrndm As i am not english native nor programmer, to be sure to understand how all this works together: 8 presets in pilot assistant and it's possible to change values for 4 of them through GUI: Heading Bank,Heading yaw, AOA and Throttle . So if i want to modify pitch controller or aileron controller on PA, i must go through the code, is that right? Aileron controller and bank controller for wing leveler mode and Hdg bank controller with heading yaw controller for Target hdg mode? On vertical mode, altitude controller for altitude mode, but it's modifiable only through code and for vertical speed controller AOA is modifiable through GUI. 3 presets for SAS (pitch, roll, yaw) that are modifiable through the GUI. What are clamps and max/min out for those? I can also see that if i launch my plane with the stock value pitch, the SAS will keep it strongly, but with oscillations at the pitch angle i fly, because the pitch value is never met. On the graph, there oscillation around the value and as the value is never met, I can release pitch control, the plane keeps the pitch angle. As soon as I enter value to damp oscillations and eliminate them, my plane will dive.
  12. I could access your spreadsheet and i corrected mine. It helps a lot to understand how to use the different settings.
  13. What maxi speed do you reach on turbojet before switching on rockets ? It seems that Mach 4.2 and 1450m/s is maximum
  14. Ok thanks you mean that when not using SAS, it works with pilot assistant preset and if using SAS it works with SAS preset? Could you be kind to send your spreadsheet at [email protected]. I made one to figure out how SAS is working with different values but i am not sure it's ok. Thank's a lot.
  15. I have a question about the SAS module and the pilot assistant module. In the SAS module you can change the values for Kp, Ki, Kd and scalar for yaw, pitch and roll and you can define a preset for each aircraft. What about the values in the Pilot assistant for Roll and You control and for Vertical control? When I define a preset in the SAS module I do not see these preset values in the Pilot assistant module
  16. Not easy to do if you don't know exactly where you COL is moving. I know how my COM is moving and I try to minimize movement by means of Goodspeed and TAC fuel balancer also
  17. Well in fact, after 23000m if I select a vertical speed of 10m/s and the vernor engines I can stabilize the jet trough M3.5 to M4.2, then I switch to rocket, to accelerate to 2200m/s but the problem is: not enough Oxy and fuel. I must work on that!
  18. Yes Hodo Thank you for answer. I got the pilot assistant and I made an excel sheet to see what happen with different setting of Kp, Kd and Ki My problem is still after Mach 3.5 mach 4 over 25000m. Before Mach 3.5 being supersonic is not a factor Stall happens between M3.5 and M4.2. I try to struggle by means of Vernor engines, but it's very touchy. So is the COL moving or something else ?
  19. Hi Can fuel have fuel in the wings and if so how do you do?
  20. I have another question about pitch command. I notice that they act very quickly. Is there any setting (except the fine tune from stock) to lower the action on pitch ? Does the deflection ctrl act on pitch input or is it just a matter of surface of the control surfaces?
  21. I succeed to pass through the stall barrier at high mach by using vernor engines when switching on rockets, but I realized that once in space my SSTO was unstable. Up to what height and what mach do you run simulation and are they valid in space?
  22. Does Mechjeb take in account the setting of the pilot assistant SAS, if I switch on Mechjeb?
  23. What mod did you use to move the wings backwards? I had the idea but i don't know how to proceed
  24. OK thanks for all these advices..... I can see it's a tail problem, but not easy and very long to try all What height can you climb on turbojet with a good design before switching on rockets?
  25. OK thank's Wanderfound. So I can accelerate at lower altitude to a sufficient mach to get sufficient lift. That's working. What happen next step, when accelerating over M.4.4 is that I got a sideslip derivative Ybeta that's red and divergent on sim. I tried a lot of things to deal with it, but whatever is the mach and altitude above 20 km, I can't suppress that? Any advices?
