Can no longer vent oxidiser.
Kilmeister replied to boolybooly's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
That was a fix. Engines will no longer consume any fuel if they don't have enough to run. Before, if an engine consumed 2 types of fuel and one of them runs out, it will continue to consume both at the normal rate even though the engine isn't running. So OP was using this bug to continue to burn his rockets after turning off the liquid fuel supply, therefore draining his oxidizer. -

Fonts you say? This is Madness!

Hah, that'll be an interesting download. I shall download it when i get home from work.

Another obstacle that hasn't really been addressed is personal injury liability. This is proposing to put autonomous machines with spinning blades near children and pets. In the video(Amazon Air), the propellers didn't appear to be shrouded, which could probably be fixed with a shrouds and screens without too much of a hinderance to it's flight properties. But even still, what happens when Fido attacks it or Junior sticks his finger into blades?

I know, But somehow I felt the need...

Could we actually build an interstellar probe ?
Kilmeister replied to Simon Ross's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Wouldn't that be something. "Hey Guys, look at this pile of crap". I mean we could send a probe to another star right now with current technology.... Just don't expect any return on that investment for a VERY long time, and the amount of info gained wouldn't be much more than a confirmation of what we already discovered from here. So, yes, we could do something, but until there is a major breakthrough in technology, it simply isn't worth the effort. -
What will be the first thing you will do in 0.23?
Kilmeister replied to astropapi1's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Strap a plane onto the side of a rocket and tweak the thrust so it doesn't go all flippy like off the pad. -
They only said that it wouldn't be implemented in the way the drew up as a .19 idea, which was very complex. He did say they were going to do something that allowed the same basic concept, but It wasn't going to be nearly as complex as stated below. I could see this model below being interesting, but It could easily have been overly tedious, which is the conclusion that they came up with as well. Clarification: This image is what they said they weren't implementing.

What irks you the most about movie space travel?
Kilmeister replied to Tex's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Slightly offtopic, but this reminded me of another gem I found linked from an old thread in these forums How to Destroy the Earth And interestingly, as I was re-reading it just now I noticed it too mentions Bear's "The Forge of God" method as Brdavis pointed out. -
Call it nostalgia then . Last time I dealt with pascal was like 17 years ago. SO... half my life ago!
-
It's still a concept that's years from being ready. And as others have said, it's not at all life threatening at the moment. Just non-critical systems will be down for possibly a few weeks while they figure it out.
-
<Apology>Why Pascal?</Apology> I'm guessing it's an intro to programming or a concept course. Personally, I would just analyze some of the mods that already include all this info to obtain the formulas, but I'm a programmer and that's what I do. I'm sure someone here will give you a better answer, but I had to respond to the Pascal thing ;P

^ this, and Star Trek Nebulas. -
Ha, I'm sure I'm not the first to come up with this, and I don't think the name will stick. (But I'll go with it for now ) And how would you do a more efficient transfer? Since this is a mapping satellite, I wanted it to be in a polar orbit around Vall. So instead of doing 4 burns (change inclination on Laythe, ejection from Laythe ,insertion on Vall, change inclination on Vall) I just did 2 (Ejection and Insertion).
-
I've been hunting around Google and can't find an answer. I'm curious as is there is a definition for a transfer orbit from one body to another from a 90 degree inclination. I figured this was possible in my head and messed around with an maneuver node for a few minutes and came up with an intercept. I was in a polar orbit around Laythe and burned mostly prograde to intercept with Vall which I intercepted into another polar orbit. Just curious to as if there's a definition for this.

I just saw an ad for it again, but they've changed to voiceover to past tense ... "it was 3 miles wide" etc.
-
Now that's deep But yeah, you shouldn't get too down on losing your save if happens. I've had a mission or two just go "poof", but no need to worry over it, just launch it again. And I've been thinking about restarting my game with remote tech installed this time. I don't want to do it right now because my fleet on the way to Jool w/ 3 unmanned vessels would be rather screwed.

I'm actually "Really" doing science with this mod. As in I'm having to learn everything as I go. So it's natural science progression, without points! This mod has made my first run through career mode much like a new player trying this game out for the first time Fortunately, the messages ("Hey you need a radiator dummy!") have been enough so far, but some better documentation would be nice, but for now I'm enjoying learning it ye olde fashioned way.

Hah, EvE is still up there! Almost wants to make me resubscribe. Be nice if that site put up amount of votes.
