I know where the name came from but I am not telling.
-
Yup, correct, the name boolybooly was a reference to both that song and computer logic I like that the song is bouncy and cheerful like early Ska / 2tone, fusion of black and white, world peace etc. Its supposed to imply that emotion and logic can work together constructively, in harmony. Like Dr Spock finding his human side! I can add a VTOL link for your demo video no problem. To explain my comment for other readers, I understood that franklinators are often made with badgers. Weaponising is not officially recognised as a K-Prize objective in deference to Harvester's preference that Kerbal space not be weaponised but its hard to ignore the pyrotechnic potential of the little solid rocket boosters I do concede.

Thankyou for your patience I have been suffering with a heavy cold recently so K-Prize updating was postponed. Thanks to everyone for their mission reports, I have added the following to the roll of honour guest list. Congratulations and welcome (back in some cases) to the K-Prize. bsalis Advanced Pilot Precision Award with Excalibur (VTOL capable). Hi again, effective and looks a bit like a sword. Sensi Pilot Proficiency Medal with Reinbacker. Not sure if its meant to fly backwards? RebelFreedom Advanced Pilot Precision Award with ThunderCougarFalconBird. Mercifully does not have a badger stuck to it but still looks a bit dangerous. Sgt. Cookie with Dawns Flower. Dainty like a mayfly. Cerberus738 Advanced Pilot Precision Award 1stClass with Pelican Mk II. A large expanse of space age lift surfaces helps when transporting that many Kerbals. Endersmens, FAR changes lift characteristics. Good luck with the mission, which can be linked as a gatecrasher if you want to use FAR. Cmdr. Arn1e and Space Cowboy thanks for your screenies, good luck with your missions, will be interested to hear how they go.

Overfloater, thanks for your video mission report, very impressive range and load carrying capability for Mega Comet. Congratulations on completing such an ambitious project without casualties! And on your deserved Expeditionary Utilitarial Distinction for delivering 20t to Laythe which includes the Expeditionary Astrokerbal Distinction for landing, also your Advanced Pilot Precision Award for returning to land safely at the island runway. SeventhArchitect, cute plane, thanks for sharing it with us. I hope you don't mind being linked as a gatecrasher because as you rightly pointed out, modifying stock parts does mean that it is a modified craft. I have alerted the bouncers and added a quip! airbus_sai, thanks for your mission report. Congratulations on completing the K-Prize mission with SSTO Jet Mk1. You were quite correct about the fuel transfer but maybe didnt notice that since the Mk1 docked during its mission flight it earned the highly regarded Advanced Pilot Precision Award 1stClass for docking in orbit and landing safely at KSC runway. Welcome to the K-Prize roll of honour aka K-Prize party guest list. BTW as an aside I dont know if you have tried Imgur image hosting but I find it very helpful for displaying large arrays of images like these and can recommend it since it is totally free!

Tejing, yes mechjeb, clipping and airhogging are within the rules, anything you can do in stock gameplay is OK and as long as dumping fuel is all it does then TAC is within the spirit of a reusable space plane mission so OK, though it is also perfectly legitimate to start with hangar adjusted tank loads so you dont lift fuel you dont need to. Yes to docking info mods. Generally speaking as long as they dont change stock flight and fuel component physics, mods are OK. I have tried to put the basic rules in the OP but there have been a few complex precedents throughout the thread. Damaske, well it sounds like a really neat mission but piggy backing is outside the K-Prize rules due to the decoupling rule as it is a dual stage vehicle. So it would be a gatecrasher for that reason as well as non stock wings, but I am sure people visiting the K-Prize thread would be interested so please feel at liberty to link or report it here and say if you want a gatecrasher link... with suitable quip !

Looks good to me ABalazs, congratulations on completing the K-Prize mission successfully with X-901-AR, earning an advanced pilot precision award in the process for a safe landing on KSC runway. Even the best pilots overshoot occasionally but its a mark of good piloting and a versatile craft to recover from a course deviation and still come home safely. Welcome to the guest list (roll of honour) for the K-Prize party.

Maybe I want to take my Xenon tanker back, guess I could rig up two docking ports and leave the Xenon tank podule on one and pick up the empties from another. Then you would want to be able to leave the asteroid engines burning when away from the asteroid and in timewarp which is a whole different kettle of fish...
-
We are going to need a way to do multitank transfers, where you take fuel from a ship and give it to another ship currently you just dock them and do tank transfers, but if you build an anchored platform of ion engines to shift the orbit of an asteroid you will need to feed it with ion fuel and ion tanks are so small it would get tedious, so we need a way to say "take all the fuel in craft A and put it in craft B". Or have I got ahead of myself here, are we just going to the asteroid to get a sample this decade ? You know we have got to practice shifting asteroid orbits, I hope that has been understood.
-
Thanks 5thHorseman, 2485 but others have done better, involved a lot of orbiting of Kerbin, Mun and Minmus, crew and EVA reports, as well as 2 Minmus landings with eight surface samples from Minmus using EVA hops from landing sites and a brief jaunt into Kerbol SOI on the return leg. Couldnt quite get the barometer but research module, LV-N, docking and solar panels were critical, gravioli detector was gravy!
-
they did the blue pearl thing well, at the end you really got the message that there was just an egg shell thin layer of gas between the planet hugging swamp things and violent doom hence the asteroid mission

Interesting use of counterintuitive slingshot maneuvers there Kasuha, via Eve to Laythe. Your Exploratory Astrokerbal Distinction includes multiple Exploratory Kosmokerbal Commendations for the slingshots around Jool's moons, also you earned an Advanced Pilot Precision Award for a successful runway landing at KSC. Must have taken some patience considering the a mission elapsed time of 4312 days, but this got the most out of the surprisingly capable craft Kaeris. (Previous mission listing has been updated.)

Landge thanks for your mission report, congratulations on completing the K-Prize mission with VindiGator and earning an Advanced Pilot Precision Award 1st class for docking in orbit and landing at KSC runway. I have linked it in the v0.21 honours further down page1 since if I understand correctly that was when the mission was done. zeppelinmage, thanks for your screenies of the Earl of Sandwich in flight. Congratulations on completing the K-Prize mission successfully and qualifying for a Utilitarial Commendation in the process for your satellite deplyment as well as an Advanced Pilot Precision Award for docking and a Pilot Proficiency Medal for landing on KSC terrain. Welcome to the K-Prize party. FCISuperGuy yes feel free to post away, the mission rules are on the first page. I dont think IVA counts as any of the following. Taki117, Explorer III is an elegant craft, nice mod parts in the sat design too, as you know its a rulebreaker but still deserves a listing on the Gatecrashers list. Kasuha, thanks very much for your report of the unique dual direction vehicle which flew to land on Duna and safely back to Kerbin. I didn't find a name, if you want to supply one I can amend the entry. Congratulations on winning a well deserved Expeditionary Astrokerbal Distinction and welcome to the K-Prize party guest list aka roll of honour.

Today I brought back 27,119.9 science points on the second mission of a career game.

KSP is the longest beta I have ever been part of. I have been playing it for 2 years now and am still enjoying it. Its come a long way in that time though and deserves to be praised and played. Its great fun and there is nothing else like it.
-
Thanks for your Hellion III mission report that1guy, congratulations on successfully completing the K-Prize mission with, if I read your video report correctly, a payload drop into orbit and docking and precise landing on KSC runway which deserves the prestigious Utilitarial Commendation as well as the highly regarded Advanced Pilot Precision Award 1stClass. Welcome back to the guest list aka roll of honour.

You certainly can Fellow314. Thanks for your mission report link. I make that a prestigious Expeditionary Astrokerbal Distinction no less, for landing on Duna and returning safely to Kerbin. Congratulations and welcome back to the roll of honour. pinolallo, very interesting ship btw, thanks for your gatecrasher mission report, the bouncers have been alerted!

Hi LordFjord thanks for your interesting mission report, Kerbal Joint Reinforcements is OK as it does not change the flight characteristics, though it may assist with awkward landings it wont make craft indestructible. So congratulations on winning the illustrious K-Prize with Wasp Mk5 along with a highly regarded Advanced Pilot Precision Award 1stClass for docking the second part and landing at KSC runway in the second mission as well as of course the deeply respected Utilitarial Commendation for lifting (two) loads into Kerbin orbit. I mentioned the refuel procedure in the link. Welcome to the K-Prize party guest list aka roll of honour.

Damaske thanks for your mission report of the compact and effective Midget Beta 1 flight. Your word is good enough here and all functions of Mechjeb are permitted in the K-Prize, see OP for rules. Congratulations on winning the K-Prize with an Advanced Pilot Precision Award for landing on the KSC runway. kepicness did you get round to landing either of those craft? If you have a KSP version number for the second I can add it to the appropriate honor roll (if it landed).

Well its tricky but I think its not the same, as this way the craft is not having to carry as much fuel into orbit since starting in space reduces the lift off weight by the retro-burn fuel cost before you try to take off, so the craft is lighter and is assisted by the energy it took to lift the retro burn fuel into orbit in the first place making it technically a two stage vehicle. In other words its a gatecrasher! If you complete a successful mission for this version you get the choice to keep a gatecrasher entry and suitable quip or we can brush it under the carpet and pretend it was just a test flight! Meaning no link on the front page. So if you want to do the mission and dont want a gatecrasher entry I can leave it, else I can link it as a gatecrasher so people can still view it. Your call.

So Damaske thanks for your mission report link and screeny, when you say it launched from the space station, did the craft complete the K-Prize mission from Kerbin launch to Kerbin landing without refuelling? I am wondering if you are saying that the craft refuelled at the station after the first lift off? Rodyle congratulations on earning an Exploratory Utilitarial Commendation for the prodigious feat of dropping two ion probes into Duna orbit with Eagleray Carrier and returning to land safely on Kerbin's green pastures. Looks like Rodford had some fun with the fuel delivery scooter as well!

Thanks Overfloater for your mission report on the Spacelane MkII's journey to Mün landing and back to KSC runway. It is an amusing looking steampunk biplane design with girder extended tail plane and ingenious part arrangement to bring twin nuclear engines close to the center of mass. Congratulations on surviving the mission and landing intact to claim the highly regarded Advanced Pilot Precision Award and the much admired Astrokerbal Distinction as part of your K-Prize success! Welcome back RogueMason and thankyou for your mission report on the flight of the stylish looking twin rapier powered not-a-cobra Adder Mk1 which successfully returned to party with the elite once again earning the highly regarded Advanced Pilot Precision Award for taking the trouble to land at the KSC runway. Right On Commander!! See you in the 'verse!

Hi Rune, thanks for your mission reports. Congratulations on completing 6 K-Prize missions in a row with the same launch of ... Broadsword is it? Most of these, as shown, earn an Advanced Pilot Precision Award 1stClass for docking in orbit and landing at the runway as well as a Utilitarial Commendation as you say. Rather than make a list of 6 I have added a note to the effect that there were 6 runs with refuels at KSC in between which count as 6 individual runs. A unique achievement worthy of note in keeping with the spirit of the K-Prize. Welcome to the guest list for the K-Prize party. Assuming that's five extra guests you will be bringing, the landlord of the Dog and Booster said he will lay on a marquee as it may get a bit crowded backstage.

Rodyle, re your mission post try using BBC [] tags with IMGUR inside and only the code number, no url. Thanks for your mission reports, I make that two successful missions with mission 1 including a docking and runway landing for an advanced pilot precision award 1st class, or is there more you are not telling us? Congratulations and welcome to the K-Prize party.

Spartwo, thanks for your mission video. The lift off was within the rules due to a slight backwards horizontal movement. Since the craft is clearly capable of horizontal liftoff this is allowed. The munitions testing does not count as the objects dont reach orbit nor do they add thrust to the vehicle prior to decoupling. The orbit was good and the water landing unusual. Congratulations on completing another K-Prize qualifying mission. Fellow314, of course you can, thanks for your mission report, welcome to the K-Prize. Congratulations on winning the highly regarded Advanced Pilot Precision Award for landing at the KSC strip and a commendable Utilitarial Commendation for dropping a full 32t fuel can in orbit around the Mun with the purposeful looking Cargo Twelve i. Your mission is hereby included on the K-Prize party guest list aka the roll of honour and as long as they recognise you the bouncers will be sure to be polite and let you go backstage at the Dog and Booster. It helps to smile.
