  1. I got so sick of trying to right click on science gear during a Duna descent that I installed Action Group Manager to add the science parts to a key press during the mission. works fine with 24.2 x64
  2. I don't understand it either (mine I mean) 500 or so and it's creeping me out just like my youtube channel, I have 19 subscribers to a channel that has never uploaded any videos! In case anyone is thinking of having a look I can save you a click, there nothing on my profile page at all.
  3. Stay in airbreathing mode as long as possible at 25-30,000 M (depending on how many intakes you have), you can almost get up to orbital velocity (If you're using deadly reentry this can be an issue for parts without ablative shielding) then pull back switch to closed cycle and get your Ap up to around 80,000M quickly then cut engines, you will lose some from your Ap as you're still passing through the thick atmosphere. if necessary give it another little burst as you get high in the atmosphere. yep they do seem to munch through the oxidiser a bit quickly, but they're fun.
  4. You could be right, but I'll try and restrain myself, there's something about reciting Monty Python sketches that's addictive In truth I've never had bread and dripping sandwiches but know plenty of people that have, working class northern England towns tend to hold on to these things long past everyone else has forgotten.
  5. trying to get back into FIFA but I'm not impressed with my new gamepad and South Park Stick of Truth whilst waiting for Elite Dangerous, FIFA 15 and Witcher 3
  6. I think that's a problem with EVE, I'm currently running Astronomer's pack and have the same issue. also when you get very close to Jool the atmosphere flickers.
  7. Bread and Dripping!! we used to dream of bread and dripping sandwiches! If we were hungry We had to suck a piece of coal!
  8. Pop...wow....there's a term I haven't heard for years We used to have these trucks that came round with glass bottles of "fizzy pop" and we'd hand back the empties for a discount. Eeeeeee.....them were the days...........*nostalgic distant stare*
  9. I think you have hit the nail on the head there, I do think it was set to dry mass but the I didn't set how many chutes there were and it seemed to be taking into account the entire ship mass. many thanks Starwaster, stumped by my own stupidity and laziness for not reading all the settings properly
  10. Can someone tell me how to use this with debrefund? before installing this I put 6 radial chutes on my large KS Rocketry SRB's and they would land at 5.5m/s I just tried with 8 chutes per SRB and it lands at 9 m/s, so I tried going into the config and it just keeps giving me the message "craft mass too high, setting to maximum" regardless of how many chutes I put on.
  11. That's caused by anisotropic filtering, I haven't found a fix other than turning it off.
  12. care to lend me some bandwidth? mine's been going steadily downhill since Virgin media bought out NTL
  13. I can't really add anything to the many reasons posted already why Star Trek was not only a great show but an important cultural driver except to say that if nothing else there's this:
  14. Kerbal soup I have tried a reentry from an interplanetary trajectory at 12,000 m/s .....it didn't go well I think the fastest I've ever seen a kerbal go was one of Danny2462's videos, firing kerbals from a kerbal cannon into interplanetary space. not very practical but damned hilarious!
  15. nope, I just didn't think of it still, it's a lesson well learned
  16. Good article, really sums up the problems with major publishers and the reason I'm pretty much done with so called AAA titles. most of these big devs and publishers have no respect at all for their customers and I've no doubt they are going to destroy themselves, just like the major record labels did by treating their customers like scum and at the same time not paying musicians a decent cut. more and more I see comments before games are out that people have no intention of buying from them because they've been burnt so many times. and the indie devs are taking an ever larger market share. CDProject Red is a good example of a company that treated their customers with respect and delivered a quality product and over a few years grew into a major force in the industry, whereas companies like EA and Ubisoft because of their greed, lack of support and underhanded practices have reputations lower than dirt
  17. That moment when you decide to watch flying your spaceplane through Kerbins clouds from the cockpit and click on EVA instead of IVA noooooo.......come back!!!!
  18. I heard a quote in star trek the other day that applies to my life more than anything I've ever come across "If you study evil, evil studies you" If you spend ten years studying and exposing the crimes of intelligence agencies, life gets.....interesting.
  19. I installed this mod yesterday to get around the damned right click issue. I just thought you would like to know that it works perfectly in 24.2 x64 with no issues at all
  20. If you like space games I'd recommend Elite Dangerous, the game is David Braben's labour of love, in some ways it's been in creation for 20 years and just looks amazing. it's still in Beta at the moment but the final release should be soon and there are many features that will be added over time.
  21. but you can make them into chemical rockets
  22. Dave's not here man! hehe sorry, couldn't resist (anyone under 35 will probably have no idea what that means )
  23. ah ok, you're probably better off with the 32 bit version anyway, I can't tell you how many strange issues I've had with x64, I'm thinking of reverting back to x86 too.
  24. I haven't tried but I'd be surprised if there is any problem with that, just copy the craft files from your old save\SPH & VAB folders to the new one
