  1. yeah, but search "spaceport" brings up 500 results. they must get buried pretty quickly. plus they get moved to 'other forums>KSP Networks>Spaceport', where no one will see them.
  2. I notice on Spaceport, the download button has been changed to "Buy Now!". does this mean the Spaceport intends to charge for mods? or sell other stuff?
  3. Yes, having it geo-locked would be desirable, particularly for satellites (keeping the scanner/antenna pointed towards kerbin's surface)
  4. I think this idea would satisfy a large chunk of the players. after all, we're mostly geeks right? playing with virtual rockets and all. it would be something that could be implented in a way that you don't HAVE to use it, then it would be 'best of both' styles of gameplay.
  5. i've noticed the SAS is pretty much identical to the Advanced SAS. Perhaps some extra functionality can be added to the ASAS to earn it's "advanced" name? I'd suggest it could automatically make minor corrections to keep it aligned with the blue Manouver Prograde marker, so i don't have align it precisely (which i do manually).
  6. I just noticed this. I was going to ask if they actually reduce drag. Would it be better to have drag at (negative) -0.1 or lower? this would mean if your drag is 0.5, it knocks one or two points off that figure when you add a nosecone.
  7. Maybe we need some kind of hard Lock to use for thrust type attachments? Something like a small scale of the Enterprise D's reattachable saucer section.
  8. Would i recommend KSP? after logging 400 hours, i should think so. How many hours have you clocked up? http://i1307.photobucket.com/albums/s581/aussiemuscle308/Games/ksp_played_zps4e5f9065.png' alt='ksp_played_zps4e5f9065.png'>
  9. it'd be visually more interesting with lights and blinking navigation lights on our rockets.
  10. I don't think the observations are being done at ground level, but in the upper atmosphere, which humans first did with hot air balloons. I assume this was the first tests they did when starting the rocket age.
  11. i think the gui could add some feedback as well as alarm sounds. it was mentioned earlier that flameout needs an alarm, it could also alert via the stage stack.
  12. It's all a bit like this Monty Python skit
  13. look familiar? i'm sure we've all done this stuff in KSP the 5th free flight of the Bravo vehicle, flew to 467 feet (142m), altitude and then traversed 637 feet (194m) in 30 seconds before landing in the hazard field.
  14. it'd probably be more like basketball, without the dribbling and water polo (eg throwing the ball to each team member to pass it forward).
  15. Yes, i found switching to inside view during launch was quite boring, especially if you use a module without windows. the only indication of motion was the console alt display
  16. The only 'building' i need is a mobile launch platform, so i can build a base on the Mun to launch rockets.
  17. ah, the old 'empty parachute' trick! I think when a Kerbal dies, it should flash up a Newspaper article (to shame the player). it's pretty easy to do. i made this one off a website created to do fake ones.
  18. in building this rocket i forgot to include a decoupler and the engine just burns inside the fuselage. Should the engine damage the tank below it, by detonating it? It'd be a bit of a low tech, albeit incorrect, way of separating before they come available in the science tree.
  19. actually, that's something that's missing from ksp is a part destructable module. Nasa detonates any rockets that fly out of control. ksp just have to watch them fly off in all directions until they use up their fuel and crash down.
  20. I thought this was going to be a thread about this (mythbuster's Rocket Impala).
  21. that makes a lot of sense. i can see my rocket now, with a nasty network of pipes everywhere!
  22. just do that in sandbox mode. I have to do a few failed launches because i'm not very good at rocket design. I'd prefer a Rover testing area.
