  1. In this case it might be possible to edit the parameters in the parts and of the liquid-fuel resource.
  2. Copy the whole part.cfg into itself, change the name of the part and increase some numbers?
  3. Hm, I kind of remember Havester saying the atmospheric engines would pull equally from all tanks in the same stage only?
  4. 6. Ahm ... oh ... OH-OH!!! 9. Good, this relieves a lot of pressure for the mad number crunchers ... 10. I remembered decaying science being mentioned at some point, but even better this way! 14. Anyone else envisioning a base on Eeloo, ten different labs gathered around a spaceport with KAS fuel lines to individually connect them one after the other and feeding them data from incoming ships from all over the system? Thanks for feeding my inquisitive brain! The ultimate question remaining would be: Is there a point where the bonus from being on Eeloo overcomes the bonus from putting a Munar experiment into the lab while at Mun? RE MinMax ... kinda going to do it similar to what I wrote, but not to the fullest extend!
  5. In the few videos I saw that the lab was used - one video? - it looked like you could put the data from the experiment into the lab and transmit/return the science too right afterwards - but I am not very observent lately.
  6. So either rework the routine or rename Pol to Poll? Or check for " pol " instead of just "pol". And " pol." " pol," " pol!" ... And "Pol " at the beginning of a sentence ... This is really quite hard!
  7. Engines are also very good "heat shields" still (still as in when I used DRE).
  8. I am still wondering why they did it in the first place - would this parameter also influence the way heat is distributed and how fast the shield cools off again?
  9. 1. Every kerbonaut can man a lab, but scientists just do it better? 2. Location only matters in the moment an experiment's data is put into the lab? 3. Does Location give a bonus to conversion rate/speed too or only to amount of data from experiment? 4. Is the conversion rate data:science always the same, only conversion speed (science/day) being influenced by crew quality, amount of available data, ... ? 5. Do science and/or data decay over time or is only the overflow lost when science is full and data still being converted? 6. The processing bonus before transmitting is gone? (No tears here, honestly.) 7. Can the lab still store unlimited amounts of repeated experiments to return them to Kerbin's surface? 8. Can I store the results in the lab/a pod, land, click view stored experiments and move their data into the processor? e.g. Fly to Mun, circle it while doing experiments and collecting reports from above every biome (do EVA/crew reports give data?) in the lab, land, take a smaller lander, hop from biome to biome, store experiments in the crew pod, dock the lander back to the lab, click view stored experiments on pod and lab and move all the data into the processor? 9. Can I dock to different stations and move the data from the same experiment x number of times or do I need to get a new sample per lab? So, maximising would mean to: fly a lab with two four star scientists in it around the system, land the lab on every body, collect every available experiment on and around this body, put the data in the lab while still landed, and start converting when data is full inbetween (while flying to the next body). Right?
  10. Does this really happen or is it fan-made? https://twitter.com/danRpaulsen/status/592790920078217216
  11. My new space program is not quite there yet, so I am asking you: Is the generated science higher in orbit/on the surface of far away places? Or is it only a question of where the scientific data put into it comes from?
  12. I know. Was suggesting that his memory of Duna being -30° might be correct but the new reading having switched to another unit.
  13. I would be happy to get a tropical biome at least in some places near the water around the equator ... Does anyone know any more parameters for StageIcon than the wiki does? I put the pods back on the staging column so they show a heat bar - plan on doing the same for the heatshields, but would like to use a different icon.
  14. It does, take it as a bonus - or replacement budget in case you failed to get your luxury barge into orbit. I think it is extra tricky that not every tourist in a contract wants to go to the same place - "surprise, you can only complete this contract by getting Litte John to the small moon out there too!"
  15. Get into orbit and try to get EVA reports from low orbit above as many biomes you can catch - grassland and water is easy, shores, desert and highlands doable, mountains "run away" fast, badlands need some tweaking of the orbit sometimes, tundra and ice require polar orbits. Do not forget quick "system checks" - as I like to call the quick and dirty science collecting there - on launch pad and runway .. While training your kerbonauts to level one (by getting them into orbit once) try landing in different biomes after each flight for more reports and maybe experiments and instrument readings - while on a ladder, the kerbonaut counts as "flying above ...", so get yet another EVA report there - the capsule on a parachute will also count as "flying above", even more reason to land in different biomes. Do a probe mission beyond Kerbin's SOI and take readings around its star Kerbol. Whenever possible unlock another experiment in the tech tree and repeat some flights - preferably and to avoid boredom in science rich locations: Kerbin's orbit high and low, later in orbit around its moons.
  16. It was not meant to be directed at you personally.
  17. Sent Val and four tourists for a flyby around Minmus - only one of them actually wanted to go there, but I am not going to launch an extra mission for just one guy! Also it was a good exercise in building bigger with smaller parts. Put a small station into orbit manned by yet four more tourists - Val sneaked out into a secondary capsule and deorbited the last stage on her return trip - will have to get them back down some day - at least in four years ... Got a contract to prove my space agencies ability to rendesvouz in orbit - took this chance to bring home Bob who got stranded without fuel on a satellite deployment mission a few ingame weeks ago. Planning a Minmus mission as I collected lots of contracts aiming that way - hopefully it will earn me enough funds to unlock the next R&D tier and still leaving me with a budget for a Mun landing. And still juggling the numbers to get all four of my orange suits up in their skills without to many mission repetitions. May be a good time to build somewhat reusable Mun transfer ships and lander to ferry them over from a larger orbital station.
  18. Can we please ban photobucket from the forums? Why? Because this will be easier than convincing the admin at work to not block it. And: Welcome back! You picked a good time to relearn everything - like mostly everyone else has to too!
  19. A good mod, yes, but why does its existence preclude reasonable game mechanics of the stock game? If a parachute is the answer to reentry, why do we have heat shields - or a heating mechanic at all? OT: I too am puzzled how the probe core gets popped after all that speeding through the atmosphere is already over - sometimes upon reaching orbit even the heat shield has been used up by a few percents while still in the decoupler fairing under the pod.
  20. I have not looked at the turorials - but now that there is an official release of the game ... how is that manual coming along?
  21. 50% while coming in from 5000km AP - and 3% once ... after ascending with the shield still in the decoupler fairing and und the pod ... !
