Question about a fictional planet - star system
KerbMav replied to RainDreamer's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Regarding rotation: Would the planets rotational axis be vertical to its orbital plane? North/south pole being cooked and frozen every half year ... even more interesting. -
Why do spaceships need wings in space?
KerbMav replied to 2001kraft's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Case closed? ^^ They do not NEED them, but they do not (usually) hurt from them either. Also there is always room for a bit of design in multi-billion credit projects. -
Why is that?

Landed the Trio on Minmus, planted three flags - still rolling my eyes on this one - to get the XP. Jeb proceded to walk 400m to a probe that had gathered science to valuable to be transmitted. Bill and Bob collected their own share of reports and samples and all was stowed in different parts of the ship (to be able to carry doubles ) for trip home. The Moon Bus is no in a 70x248km orbit around Kerbin - without enough fuel to catch up with the station at 247x249km ... but as their is nothing in orbit to bring the three and their science back down anyway, the refueling can be done in one go with that. In other news: Waiting for more info on 1.0 and hoping for a .99 at least a week before that.

Do you feel KSP is ready for 1.0?
KerbMav replied to hoojiwana's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
They could at least give me weekly builds to see if I can safely sleep. -
And it certainly does. Just making sure I did not miss out on another visual mod or a new set of configs.
-
Ouups! Forgot about that one! But basically - this is just the same with more words?
-
Could the close encounter with earth influence its orbit?
-
That is pretty much all we have for now.
-
Ahm ... Photoshop??

Do you feel KSP is ready for 1.0?
KerbMav replied to hoojiwana's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Better do. Flunking this will only get you bonus points when applying for a Job at EA. My fear exactly. They want to leave the no longer hugs and puppies early access area - and risk much by the way they are doing so. Thank you, this thread grew to fast for an office week for me to keep up! And lovely reference! -
What Films Are You Most Excited To See This Year?
KerbMav replied to MightyDarkStar's topic in The Lounge
Lords of Kerbol! Thanks for reminding me! I keep missing out on movies I wanted to see just because there are so many of them - and I cannot get myself to keep a list. -
I never experienced something like this. As long as you "control from here" and "set as target" for each docking port respectively, the navball should do what it is supposed to do. Strange. If Laie and Master Tao in the linked post are correct, then I must have had ships with docking ports in line with the craft's root part every time I had to dock anything.

What Films Are You Most Excited To See This Year?
KerbMav replied to MightyDarkStar's topic in The Lounge
Sure, I want to know if JJ will do Star Wars better justice than he did Star Trek other than making it popular to a new generation. But: My (audio) book surprise surprisingly being made into a film: The Martian I am at least curious about this one: Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: The Green Legend -
It ... the ... I cannot do this anymore! In short: I liked it, first 3D movie actually worth having 3D that I saw on the big screen.

They cast a Norwegian as the German Alex Vogel - to Hollywood all west-european accents seem to sound alike.
-
Yay indeed. Get on board this thread and share some screenshots of your crafts too, if you like - I love comparing crafts from long time players and newcomers, it shows everyone where we all started out and where we might go - or even baffle us, how different our approaches to the game are/were. http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/29533-What-did-you-do-in-KSP-today

What are the feats that you've accomplished in KSP?
KerbMav replied to Columbia's topic in KSP1 Discussion
After 20 months - playing on and off, restarting after every update and playing career-style since before career mode existed: I did - once or twice build a working spaceplane - a Jool tour with manned landings on every moon (with Kethane refueling) - visit every easter egg in the Kerbol System outside Kerbin (planes do not like me ...) - land a probe on Moho - make a flyby of Gilly - build several orbital stations by docking several modules in Kerbin's Orbit (at least one per save) - catch an asteroid into a circular orbit around Kerbin I did not - manned return missions from Eve or Moho - visit Dres or Eeloo in any way - build a base larger than necessary (1-2 modules) to mine and convert Kethane ... - or a base or orbital station of any kind anywhere else but Kerbins Orbit and did why in Kerbol's name not - burn something up in Kerbol - through something into Jool -
Huh ... and it took me 20 months ... I simply resorted to insertion burns very soon as aerobreaking did not deliver the desired results and all my missions to Eve were lander probes or high orbit mapping satellites anyway. Thanks!
