  1. Ah, good times. I loved that old system. Went kablooie when the new version came out. No new planets until after I finish the config stuff I am afraid. But if I have time I'll put Fred and Ginger in when I release it.
  2. Other modders can use the code as long as they ask first. Two other mods are already working on plugins based on the code. The purpose of the license is to ensure someone can't just edit a few files and then release a conflicting plugin. Two plugins trying to do the same thing will not work. I understand folks want to make their own planet, but the best way to do that isnt to fork the project. Its to add an interface to allow you to make planets via config files. That's what I am working on now.
  3. Random responses. -The planets are cool. You need to start with height maps tho. -I did a fake barycenter a while back and it worked ok. Obviously it didnt act like a real barycenter in that you would fall into this one. But the engine didn't go kablooy or anything. -Some planets are more configurable than others because they are newer. I went from defining them in code to cfg files and I haven't converted all yet. -I'll do a how-to-create-a-planet-from-scratch post after I release the version that allows planets to be added/removed from a cfg. Until then - the secret is to bang the ctrl and nine keys together guys. -No science. Probably easy to add but I never got around to figuring out how it works.

  5. Sorry I dont have time to respond to a lot of the good questions/ideas. Here are a few randomish responses Not working? Make sure its installed right. The stuff goes in GameData not Plugins. "Default" texture somewhere? Means there is a missing texture. I fixed Sentar in Dec 3 version. See it somewhere else let me know. Create/Delete planets? I plan to make the system configurable from a cfg. Then you should be able to create (and yes disable) CelestialBodies. If you are resourceful there is a lot you can already do with the current version. Tadpole. Liked it. But no plans to change descripts. Other fish to fry.

  7. Sorry about the default texture. I'll fix tonight.
  8. Next version will have the planets defined in a config file. If you see "DEFAULT" anywhere it is because there is a missing or damaged texture. Does anyone else see default on Sentar?
  9. Updated the Spaceport version with the Serious.cfg. Hopefully that will fix the SOI issue.

  19. Yup. And if you look at the next few posts I asked him if he was serious. When no reply came I pointed out the irony that his join date was 2106 and his location was "In a Nordic Kingdom". He never replied. An irony lost on you when I asked how you liked living in the Pegasus Galaxy. Again where exactly is this RP line when all the mods have fantastic info in their sigs?
  20. Well Intentioned Mr Shifty, But sumghai either misunderstood or is a troll. And the rp thing is pretty much a done deal. They can't very well have a Kragrethea exception. Either way we don't want that to be the final word in a thread that is sure to be locked at any second. So let me add that I am thinking of doing a Kragrethea Retrospective thread. Coming soon. Details to follow. After I get a bloody tan that is. MODs maybe leave this open as long as it stays civil? Everyone else. Stay civil eh?
  21. Yes, I am in fact churlish. I think the record will prove that. But in this case I got 70 some posts in before someone pointed out the "unwritten rule" that it was "highly discouraged". So Pfffffft!!
  22. I am not necessarily quitting moding. I might still pursue the dealership idea (although "Ingame Craft File Sharing Plugin" sounds a lot less interesting than "Krags Used SpaceCraft Emporium!!!!"). I am giving up on the planets thing because it has turned to drudgery. It was fun doing the rp and making planets. But after 0.21 it has gone back to square one. Last weekend (which was beautiful btw) I spent 12hrs working on it. I loaded the game 87 times (i keep the logs) and I spent 42 minutes "InFlight". You know how much of that was "fun". None. The only bit that was enjoyable was working on the Krag status updates and the continuing story line that I had in mind (it was going to be a doozy!). Now I am just going to enjoy the rest of the summer and we will see what happens after... Honestly I don't see why you would prefer this bitch over lovable Krag, but whatever.
  23. No further breakthroughs are expected. I am winding down. The 1-2 combination of 0.21 and official opposition to the story stuff has pretty much scuttled my interest in the project. I have emailed AstronutKhillips to ask what he wants me to do with it. I'll post any news here. Thanks to everyone who supported the project. Sorry I couldn't deliver. : (
