  1. +1 yes to this idea - many lkerbals have perished due to lost mono propellant because R was not pushed again.
  2. i too would like some sort of story line that you can complete - that just continues on indefintley. Like the career missions could nclude setting up small outposts, which you can then heavily expand on once the storyline is complete.
  3. i can VERY much relate to this. Sometimes i get all amped to play, go to update mods and check for something new, spend an hour or two getting things set-up - Start KSP, close KSP since i forgot to install the last mod i downloaded, Start KSP - Cant be bothered....
  4. yes! just the contracts ive been waiting for. Thank you good sir.
  5. Had this happen to me tonight. I assumed it was a mod bug as my skybox didnt render very brightly either.
  6. This has to be the single feature that i have wanted the most since hearing about KSP - The ability to discover and learn some basics about the planets from Kerbin, then build rockets and fly them to the planets. (and maybe have simple cave systems to explore - and meteor showers)
  7. Ive said this a few times now but i would love some sort of cave system to explore and build in. Would be excellent protection against meteor showers and/or radiation.
  8. i like this idea - it can be annoying alt-tabbing the game to check a YT vid or something and to have the VAB/KSC music blaring over the video.
  9. Or it could just be a random figure say 40-90% of the parts value is recovered to simulate unforeseen re-entry damage.
  10. I too am in the i dont care basket. If Majir is trying to help the modders - players then so be it.
  11. I agree. I too crave something to truly work towards. Like constructing a civilisation out to the furthest planet. It can be an open ended game complete ending aswell.
  12. Greeting fellow like minded people. First off - i have no informal education in any science discipline, i merely read books, watch documentarys and ponder. I have had a life long fascination with the stars and space and what the future may bring for humanity. Now it seems that in the last few years the debate for Active SETI has started to revive somewhat, and it poses some interesting questions. For those of you who arent aware of what it is, Passive SETI aka what we do now, involves just listening to signals that could indicate techonology or activity of another civilization, but thats it, LISTENING. Active SETI involves sending focused carrier signals encoded with information or patterns, at high energys toward particular star systems/exo planets. This has become more on topic again since the amount of confirmed exo planets is rising, making the possibilty for life to exist as we know it, more likley. The part of the debate im talking about is what is in humanity's best interests, should we just listen, wait and watch, or start announcing our presence. Now, any decision would require the consensus of humanity in priniciple, but how that would be acheieved is not what im trying to get at in this post. My question is - Who is For, Against, couldnt care for Active SETI to resume? My PERSONAL preference is to stay quiet, and listen, but there are interesting arguments to both sides.
  13. Like others - i sometimes feel frustrated with what seems like stagnant development, but at the same time im fully aware of the situation, and just carry on patiently. One theme ive noticed, at least of late, and have started a thread on this, is the KSP roadmap/scope completetion/call it what you will. I for one, and im sure others are very interested in where this game is going. 100s of hours of your life, playing a single game, says alot about the concept, the developers and even this amazing community, where these discussions are rather more civilized than other parts of the wilderness/internet. However i feel a sense of commitment to the game, it provides me with a means to somewhat fulfill a fantasy ive had since i can remember, and that is to see and explore the solar system and maybe the star. I would like an actual word from Harv on what HE vstill envisions for KSP, what does feature complete actually mean? What does he see after feature complete? I don' think thats unreasonable to ask, surley?
  14. Im pretty sure i can visualise what you mean, do you turn SAS off as soon as the docking process starts? I.e the force of the magnets is felt? Ive found if i leave SAS toggled it can cause some pretty terrible flexing and bouncing around.
  15. I like this idea - with new players in mind it would make sense for it to be apart of some difficulty system. Generic science on easy, Complex science on realisim mode. Or something like that.
  16. Needs a yellow post it note apologising about the snacks...
  17. with science being a bit ....empty.... adding a bit of meat to the act of gaining particular science would be a good thing. Not all science, sensors etc on ships could still be instant/near instant, but EVA type ground sampling could be a bit more interesting.
  18. The mechjeb feels are strong in this thread. My 2c - i wouldnt be overly bothered with people bagging a mod i use...nor do i care to hold or mention an opinion on what others do. Lifes too short. On topic - I dont see FAR being a contract breaker.
  19. i would love crew transfer contracts between the KSC and a station or some such. Would give me at least a real reason to build and develop space planes. I've dabbled...but never been very successful.
  20. I pretty much asked the exact same thing in the dev discussion forum. I can understand where the OP is coming from.
