Granted, but then, you can't get a better Harry Styles, he's already perfect, so nothing happens. I wish for toast and a large lump of cheddar cheese.

I think the AIES pack had some solar panels, not 100% sure as it had to go to make room for other mods.

Don't like Career Mode
Monkeh replied to Boiler1's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Career mode is going to change a hell of a lot over the coming months. First off add in financial constraints, training kerbonauts, hiring scientists to research all the parts, missions from governments and companies and other stuff that may or may not make it into the final game. What we have here is just the start of career mode, it's going to get a whole load more challenging and interesting as more stuff gets added, be patient and you shall be rewarded with genius, I have little doubt. -
This game is shaping up nicely. It has a symmetry mode for building much, much faster now and updates seem to be coming out every couple of weeks. I get the impression that, (past dev failures not withheld), that this is going to be a little bit special. The Early Access release on steam has provided a load of funding, well over 100,000 copies sold apparently, so this should get the backing it needs to grow into something really cool. There will be resource gathering, slow and painstaking building and quick and brutal battles. There will be 'blueprints' so you don't have to start from scratch every time you build something and all in all this has definitely got promise. I'm looking forward to watching this grow, it's very different to KSP but has a similar overall feel, the sandbox, the building, the space, the multiplayer...Oh wait, did I mention that, it's going to be multiplayer, so huge co-owned bases and Deathstars will be possible, whole EVE style faction wars and a whole host of other exciting stuff. Personally excited by this title, we shall, of course, see in time where it ends up. It will get more expensive with time though, just sayin'. Inside my asteroid base Outside my asteroid base

Look how cool Reiker looks with Jordi and the pilot having kittens. Reiker, you da man!

If you have no idea what to do have a look at the in game tutorials, Scott Manley on YouTube and these forums and then try and go to the Mun. Good luck and have fun and don't be afraid to ask anything.

Any tips on strapping my rover to my rocket?
Monkeh replied to TehUndeadMerc's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
I hate you because I'm too stupid to have thought of that... Waiting for window / waiting in the sun's SOI = same thing? I don't know, but I hear people say they were waiting for a window, I just wait in the sun's SOI. Does it turn out to be the same amount of time give or take? -
As far as I understand it even a poultry googol is useless as there isn't a googol of anything either.

Any tips on strapping my rover to my rocket?
Monkeh replied to TehUndeadMerc's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
I learned to get to the other planets without MechJeb and if I can, by lord above, anyone can. Get to orbit. Burn out of Kebin SOI. (important- trying to do interplanetary transfer from Kerbin's SOI sounds like a recipe for disaster) Once orbiting the sun, click on target planet and set as target. Play with maneuver nodes, (normally around the ascending or descending nodes), until you see the little grey markers on your projected orbit path and then get them to intercept by either moving the position of the node or changing the amount of delta v you're adding. Welcome your interception node. Hold a right click on the periapsis of the body your looking at and it will stay on the screen when you move your mouse away. Fine tune the delta v whilst watching the periapsis marker and stop when it's where you want it. Start the burn half way in front of your node with respect to your estimated burn time, so a burn time of 5 minutes should be started at t-2:30 assuming you can full throttle it and your craft doesn't lose weight as it burns... Coast up to your destination and then burn retrograde at periapsis blah...blah...blah if you got to the Mun and Minmus the you know this bit. Profit. Good luck, you got dis! Edit: The post above mine is the sensible and efficient way of doing things, mine has worked fine for me but requires some over engineering of fuel and delta v. -

What if you have 2 kerbals in your command pod? You don't want them fighting over who gets to go on a ride now do you? Here's some of my attempts at rover delivery down the KSP years, maybe somewhere in this pile of drivel you may find some inspiration. Number 1: Stick it on the top First attempt: Second attempt: Number 2: Make your lander become your rover: Number 3: Stick it on top again...but this time with parachutes! Number 4: Symmetrical radial attachment Number 5: In-line and measured to re-dock with lander It actually failed to re-dock on the Mun due to lower gravity not pulling the lander down far enough. Damn it. Number 6: Symmetrical radial attachment with parachute Number 7: Inside a cargo bay and then dropped with a parachute You can see that one in some detail here in my blog post. That is, of course, far too many screenshots for one post. I'm such an idiot. Hope somewhere in there you find something that helps, good luck -
The first part you choose for your craft is the root part. If this part doesn't have a free connection node then it can't work as a subassembly. I try to design my subassemblies from the ground up starting with a docking port or a decoupler or something similar, leave one side of it empty, voila, subassembly sorted.

Apparently you can get atmospheric burn on liftoff...

Ha-ha, that's a beautiful screeny. Whackjob wins again. How do you win so often in a single player, un-winnable game? It makes no sense! -
'Magnetic' shoes for kerbals?
Monkeh replied to Monkeh's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Yeah, I should have used 'sticky' but I thought inverted commas would work just as well I hope the devs have listened, unless it's a bitch to implement in which case it's not that big a deal but...it would make the actual mission bit of missions a whole load more fun in a whole load more places. I enjoyed plastering ladders on it but yeah, it just makes sense. Thanks, I was trying for a golden look. Not exactly a hundred percent successful but not too far off either. -
I've had a good search, (well both forum and google at least, plus the do not suggest list), and I can't see mention of this anywhere but I would really like to be able to toggle some 'magnetic' boots on my kerbal when on EVA. Naturally, in my head, this sounds like a really easy thing to do, docking ports do something similar after all so it must be easy right? (If this line of 'writing' hasn't already demonstrated how little I know of such things then please allow me to clarify the position of my knowledge level of such things. It is very low.) I've just built myself a nice little station and it would be cool to be able to walk around on the panels and such. Anyone share my rather vacuous desire?
-
Yesterday I built a space station, today I got it up. Oooh-err-missus. The lifter I built for my Duna mission looked like a good way good way to orbitise my station, it was built from scratch as an attachable component after all, yay for sub-assemblies Easy does it In position, extend blanket solar panels... Hell yeah! Final station stats include: 1) Circular 120K orbit (+/- 1k) 2) Monoprop carried: 5700 3) Liquid fuel carried: 9501 4) Oxidiser carried: 10,513 5) Numerous docking ports of all sizes 6) 1000m/s left on the last lifter stage should I decide to go somewhere else. 7) A hidden purple tank left over from the Duna mission...lol! Having a wander round Right then, next up, a proper space plane to use all those lovely consumables! Dear holy thing that spawned us, I love this game

[Completed] Duna mission, planning and R&D.

I've just been on a Duna mission so if you'd maybe like some inspiration feel free to click here. Good work, I like seeing what others get up to in this game. -
That would be universe replacer and the kerbal faces textures. All in the forum thread on here.
