  1. Sorry if this has been asked before, but is there a way to disable the recover messages?
  2. Paul March confirmed over 100µN thrust for 80W power with less than 1µN of EM interaction + thermal characterization on new EmDrive test
  3. The problem is that the max distance for a power line is 7000km.
  4. The following video about the Steam gamepad can explain how well it could work on a PS4 or Xbox One. Sure their controllers are different than the Steam gamepad, but they are similar enough to draw to a conclusion. All this PC vs console stuff is quite stupid, sure PC has modding and console have stability(and many more for both). But at one point the sharp line between both of them will disappear. Steam on PC has the option to use it as a console and console are becoming more like PCs.
  5. That's assuming that these beings would consider invading and conquer an other solar system. Us being alive today doesn't proof that there isn't an advanced civilization 1400 light years from us.
  6. But you can't use all of it's energy because nothing is 100% efficient. The users of this Dyson Sphere would need to keep warm and heat gives off IR.
  7. There are as many reasons why we might not discover a signal as there are reason why would could discover it; they could have switch communication technologies, they could have stayed with radio, they could have skipped it altogether, they keep it running to let others know they exist, etc. But I agree that it's more likely to be a natural occurrence which is dimming the stars light. Also quantum entanglement can't be used for communications.
  8. Although Astroneer looks awesome (and I'll probably buy it), but it has nothing to do with real space exploration or with reality for that matter. It's a guy capable of mining/digging in seconds and fly into space by defying the rocket equation. This is not what KSP needs. It's not that the succeeding missions are boring, it's the majority that doesn't understand what's so awesome about the mission which is actually succeeding.
  9. Really? I would like to see those calculations.
  10. This video has be released a few days ago and I'm kind of dissapointed that it's only at 10.000 views because it's awesome. It's Thomas Oliver as an astronaut with a space worthy guitar singing "If I move to Mars". The whole clip is through the eyes of Thomas Oliver while hes in orbit around Mars.
  11. That's not the case, it exists to stop countries from claiming resources. To actually extract the resource you would need to create settlements/villages. Or in other words; everyone is interested in Antarctica so much so that it's decided that no one can have it.
  12. It might be even less capable than curiosity in climbing these slopes.
  13. Other fruits are sweet because they are grown on trees? Good point Mr. Kibble.
  14. Who says it doesn't? Except Elon wants it to look cool, which means it wont look like other suits.
  15. It helps people get interested in space if it looks cool to them.
  16. The SpaceX spacesuit looks awesome! Image from this article: http://www.vogue.com/13349221/elon-musk-profile-entrepreneur-spacex-tesla-motors/
  17. Isn't a 39 days to Mars a riskier trip than a 6 month trip? Because a 6 month trip can give a free return to Earth if something goes wrong en route.
  18. Someone correct me if I'm wrong here. The Wii U CPU is a 1.24Ghz tri-core, meaning that it could potentially run the game faster than a 3Ghz single core. It uses a specific OS, tailor made for it's hardware and runs on a separate CPU (not core but a 2nd CPU), thus it takes no resources from the main CPU. When a game is running the OS is off and does use up memory, which means it can use the total 2GB of ram. Couple this with lower settings and I don't see why people think it couldn't run KSP. As a reminder there are tons of factors which make a PC game playable, most of them are due to things beyond the control of the game developer. There's the OS which tries to cater to a wide variety of hardware setups, it shares the system ram at all times, and is depended on properly installed and updated software. Hardware drivers need to be compatible and kept up to date, unless these updates cause problems. Then there's 3rd party software; anti virus and other software take up resources(Windows machines), just like any other software constantly loaded into the system memory. And then there's the worst of them all; malware. This is something which can potentially take a massive impact on the system resources. (Windows machines) I'm quite positive that it could turn out to be a very enjoyable game on Wii U.
  19. It's fun is my point. If it's not fun then you wouldn't watch it over and over again.
  20. @steve_v: So you're saying that you might have spend 100hrs total of which 60hrs were actually debugging problems, doesn't that sound a big exaggerated to you? Most problems I had with KSP were due to mods, so maybe that's the case with your experience?
  21. That's true, but KSP couldn't be developed back then in the first place without early access. You might not mean it this way, but calling it playable sounds to me like driving a car which is barely held together. The biggest problem I have with people calling KSP unfinished(or worse) is that the same people put tons and tons of hours in the game. "I've seen this movie like 50 times, but it's an ok movie".
  22. Everyone calling it less than 100% finished either hasn't mentioned any reason why they think that(just an estimate) or they mention missing graphical improvements, bug fixes or new parts. The game doesn't need graphical improvements to be a finished game, it's a full game even if it doesn't look like game X. Games will always have bugs, big some AAA titles had worse bugs on release and were still considered finished games. For parts there's almost an infinite amount of possible type you could have, but more realistically; a few missing parts that hinders only a personal build and not the whole player base does not make it an unfinished game. But this thread isn't about how it could be a better spaceflight sandbox game, it's about if it's a finished game or not. Also Orbiter isn't a sanbox game but a space flight simulator. And if a perfect game has no Linux client then it's not a perfect game?
  23. Besides that it's full of assumptions, it's quite a condescending post. The worst part might even be "whether you're violating my first suggestion". Calling a recipient incapable of doing their work properly(without proof), suggesting that they will release a half-baked port(without proof) and then end with a snarky remark and planely state they will fail, yes that's something everyone should respond to well right?
  24. There have been numerous patches and additions to KSP all coming from the community; suggested hot fixes after releases, mods incorporated into the game and a ton of suggestion from these forums. Saying that Squad doesn't listen is quite unfair. Just because yours or others advice hasn't been publicly considered doesn't mean Squad ignores advice. These comments and situations are reasons why a company like ID software doesn't have a forum, because some fans think they are they great messiah and bring perfection to the game. Like Kuu Lightwing said; Squad is a marketing company who created material for companies like Coca-Cola, Hewlett-Packard, Sony, Samsung and Nissan. How silly is it to think that some random guy on a forum has better knowledge to run a company.
