http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/24898-Challenge-Submission-Guide I know you have said you can't do it, but you're meant to have an entry from yourself upon submitting your challenge... just pointing that out here -
KEMA Drag Week - ROUND CLOSES 28TH MAY
Bilfr3d replied to Bilfr3d's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
the airbrakes are allowed, but are not going to be very useful unless you link them to toggle during the staging - as I don't apply the brakes. I would most likely consider the airbrakes as a wing, as they apply a "drag" in the way of what would be expected if a wing were to be placed vertically in place. So to answer your question properly, yes they are allowed, they are considered as wings, but I only stage the vehicle, so you'll have to find a way to use them with that in mind I shall update the OP explaining that now -

Good luck to any and all who wish to enter in the next round! - - - Updated - - - Also, a note - highlight videos for future rounds will hopefully be available; I'm working on making a grand stand for a kerbal audience, and I'm also working on an intro for the video -
KEMA Drag Week - ROUND CLOSES 28TH MAY
Bilfr3d replied to Bilfr3d's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Testing is currently underway, and I'm about 50% through the entries. Results to be posted in a hour (I hope)! -
By this point it is fairly safe to say that part clipping is causing this "bug" behaviour - as such, not much really needs to be done, as that kind of behaviour is expected from part clipping. You can continue to investigate further if you wish, but from what you're describing, there does not seem much point as it does seem to be a clipping issue.

KEMA Drag Week - ROUND CLOSES 28TH MAY
Bilfr3d replied to Bilfr3d's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Because of how much time I don't have, I'll do the results tomorrow and try to release them some time tomorrow. As for the new deadline date, entries close on THURSDAY MAY 21st!!! If you have already entered, you can enter again, even with the same dragster if you wish - just say so if you want to. Usually I won't be releasing the new deadline until the release the results, but I thought I may as well release the date now. -
KEMA Drag Week - ROUND CLOSES 28TH MAY
Bilfr3d replied to Bilfr3d's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Serassa, you did not make the deadline for the current round, the deadline was 12:00PM AEST and your entry was submitted at 12:22PM AEST. Your craft is also under testing to see if it is eligible for the second round of drag racing - I will disclose whether your craft has been disqualified or not soon. As for everyone else who entered, testing will begin roughly at about 12:00PM AEST on May 14th, whereby the results should be released that afternoon (testing and release times are subject to change at my discretion). After the results have been released, the next round will be opened for entries and the new deadline will be presented. EDIT: Manipulation of post quoting will also not be tolerated, and the rules and guidelines are subject to change. The post was directed at yourself personally (i.e. Serassa) and states that the rules and guidelines will not be changed to conform with your instability. - - - Updated - - - As per the challenge submission guideline thread: Serassa, your entry has therefore been disqualified and no further entries will be accepted from you. Any further posting in this thread, be it with regards to debating this disqualification or otherwise, will be reported - any conversations you wish to have with regards to this shall be messaged to me directly. -
KEMA Drag Week - ROUND CLOSES 28TH MAY
Bilfr3d replied to Bilfr3d's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Interesting use of the retro rockets, I was thinking about using that for my dragster, but decided that chutes would be better for the speeds I was going at. And it's a pleasure to provide something different and new to build!! Hope to see you entering again some other time -
KEMA Drag Week - ROUND CLOSES 28TH MAY
Bilfr3d replied to Bilfr3d's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Only 2 days left until the current round of entries closes. Looks like it's going to be a small first round, easier to become the #1 dragster with less people around -
Cluster Missile - Kerbal Warfare Program
Bilfr3d replied to DJ Daemonix's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
My entry: 288 Bombs. BTW, How is Mechjeb a "cheat mod"; all it does is provide information about the craft and several autopilots. I used KER in mine just FYI. It's pretty hard to do this challenge without encountering the Kraken, as I had several similar designs to this (one with about 1500 bombs) that kept getting hit by the kraken on launch.... so yeah. -
If you've got no issues with installing software to record a video of the issue, than google "Open Broadcaster System" and have a look at that, otherwise screenshots should be fine
-
Try catching a video of the 'bug'. It could just be clipping between something on the vehicle but you can never be sure. I've encountered a few bugs with the claw in the past, but none like this - my bugs were null reference ones.

Satellite contracts borked?

that... ahh... now that I think back to it.... ahhhhhhhhhh...... damn xD OK that answers by question lol -
Reentry heating too weak?
Bilfr3d replied to cicatrix's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
It was a normal difficulty career save - I was ferrying 7 tourists on a trip to the Mun, and used a bit of an ingenious design with my early tech - I stuck small fuel tanks on the side of the main pod, and stuck pods ontop of that, with heatshields underneath that. When I re-entered, I had done about 3 high-atmosphere aero brakes before actually re-entering, at which stage I entered at 28Km at about 2400m/s... 4 out of the 5 heatshields on the pod exploded with the 5th one having only 12 Ablator left... I was quite scared, frankly xD -
So in career mode earlier, I accepted a contract to place a new unmanned satellite into a munar orbit - I built the probe, launched it, got out to the required orbit... looked at the contract window and the "maintain orbit stability for 10 seconds" and "unmanned new satellite" check boxes were ticked - the required orbit box, however, was not, even though I was pretty much smack on the orbit required (2-3km deviation at the Pe and Ap). I manually completed the contract through the debug menu as I had clearly done the contract, so I came here asking for more advice on these satellite contracts; basically, are they borked?

Don't know how fats you're re-entering, but most times my heat shields actually explode upon reenty... -
I'm horrible at even making bearings, lol! RIP Jeb, you took a tough plunge...
-
ermagerd how do you make these bearings?? xD I'm OFF TO EXPERIMENT!! I shall be back (unless I die of an unexplained brain fart)

What's the Most Science/XP You Gained in One Mission? (Spoilers)

The most XP I've had from a mission is only 7... :'( I have yet to spend enough time playing career to get the higher paying contracts XD -

KEMA Drag Week - ROUND CLOSES 28TH MAY
Bilfr3d replied to Bilfr3d's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Just a notice to everyone, that entries for the first round are still open. Entries close on the 13th, as stated on the OP, and testing should be finished by about the 15th of May. Highlight videos should be released on about the 16th of May (if I am releasing a highlights video at all), with the results for the round being released on the 16th of May too. -
Stuck on the mun because I placed the fuel lines on the lander the wrong way around...
