Ive been here since August 7, 2013 and thats when it was still run by @HarvesteR so afaik its always been forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com. Ofc when I joined 0.21 had just been launched in july 2013 (when i started playing) on steam, so ya, afaik its always been this. Perhaps someone from before my time knows different? 002808222022

So lets set the scene. MSFS2020, flying the PMDG 737-700 as Delta N308DE doing a cross country flight from Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International (KATL) to Las Angeles (KLAX). Ive filed for FL400 but thanks to the 27000 pounds of fuel im only at FL380 (40,000 feet and 38,000 feet respectively). I was at FL390 but a 60 knot headwind caused me to drop to FL380. So, to descend (this was over Arkansas around Pine Bluff (which as of typing was ONE HOUR AGO) I deployed spoilers to 50% and set my MCP to 38000. I only just noticed at 100nm from Childress Texas that my speed was not right. I was at .71 mach with my MCP set for .79. You caught it right? Yup, if you said my spoilers were still waving at the wind at 50% deployment you are correct. For an hour I flew with them out. Yup I face palmed at that. Ive retracted them am cruising along at FL380 doing .790-.791 mach. My GS(ground speed) is 453 knots while TAT(total airspeed) is 457. Ive got a 7 knot cross wind (223/7) (223 dregrees at 7knots) acting on me as about 4 knots headwind. 235208212022

Update to my sound popping and freezing issue. Im flying a sector right now, KLAX to KDFW and am about 45 minutes in. Ive been running a timer and as I type its been 33 minutes since I thought to turn it on. I have a new cable for my headset. Im hearing pops but I think its my headset and me creaking. In the last 34 minutes now, no audio abnormalities to be heard other than my ai FO being silent. I hear ATC (this is a non vatsim flight to prove out my theory about my cable. Im estimated wheels down on the deck at 0824Zulu in KDFW. I will know more by then and will update accordingly. But tentatively 36 minutes into testing its looking good. Knock on wood. 013208212022 UPDATE Conclusion: And now, after 2 hours 48 minutes and 32 seconds of flight time <at least thats what my flight log in my profile on MSFS2020 tells me for that flight> I think it is now officially safe to say that my usb cable that was in service from late 2019 until just a few days ago was the likely source of the audio popping with the odd lag freezes I was experiencing. I say this not being a tech guy and only from referencing personal experience with what the good ol interwebs gargler has told me about what can happen as a cable reaches end of life. SO, I am pleased with this outcome, and with having logged another sector and nearly 3 more hours of flight time. Over all: Win Thus concludes my update and this minor saga. 034808212022

@Nuke Our planet is not just the elements that make up its constituent parts. Our planet is everything on it. Everything. There is no possibly. The fact is we, the human race in all our arrogance are killing this planet. Sorry for quoting sections backwards. Nature cannot survive us. It is outmatched by us. Yes nature can be stunningly resilient but, we are doing catastrophic damage. I want to get on a soap box but I wont. Bottom line is: if nature is to survive, humanity either needs to be thanosed away or do the impossible. It would need to drop its current attitude (any ideology honestly that promotes wonton dominion over nature and each other) and come together and realize this rock does not care for us, but it needs us to get it together and respect it. If we cannot it is doomed, we are doomed. I am going to now walk away and leave a quote by a man smarter than I. It is our duty to safeguard Earth. If that means we must vanish as a whole and in an instant then thought experiment or no, then that is what we must do. For now, right this instant we, as far as we know, as far as we can PROVE, are on the one planet we KNOW with 100% certainty that harbors life. The enumerable plant and animal species on this pale blue dot must be safe guarded. Even against ourselves. No matter the price we must pay. 010608192022

@Nuke there is no might about it. Humanity is wiping out Earth. We are ourselves causing the 6th Great Extinction and its happening right here, right now, all around us. The Holocene extinction, otherwise referred to as the sixth mass extinction or Anthropocene extinction, is an ongoing extinction event of species during the present Holocene epoch (with the more recent time sometimes called Anthropocene) as a result of human activity. The included extinctions span numerous families of bacteria, fungi, plants and animals, including mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, fishand invertebrates. With widespread degradation of highly biodiverse habitats such as coral reefs and rainforests, as well as other areas, the vast majority of these extinctions are thought to be undocumented, as the species are undiscovered at the time of their extinction, or no one has yet discovered their extinction. The current rate of extinction of species is estimated at 100 to 1,000 times higher than natural background extinction rates. Please, do not just take me at my word. I urge you to read what I here link. It is just a start. We are destroying our planet. Its why I have no other obligation if given the choice @Pthigrivioffers us than to pull a modified Thanos and green button humanity away. But I will stop here lest I let passion carry me away. Well I think Ive been enough of a dark voice, off to watch Critical Role! 211408182022

Saturn V, 2 of the Apollo 11 sets, ISS and Shuttle Discovery (which I need to finish lol). ok, now, a question for those who are trained in tech stuff. Im playing MSFS 2020 and loving it, but ive noticed something this session and last. Im getting odd audio pops with sudden freezes that last 10-20 seconds. These symptoms are intermittent with no known way of duplication beyond random chance. My rig was purpose built for DCS World and MSFS2020 by my now (RIP) deceased friend and he massively over built it. This is my question (and suspicion but want as many 2nd opinions as are willing to come) this: my headset cable has been in use on this pc since it was built in late 2019. Could its age be causing this? These symptoms just suddenly began the other day and before that ive managed 35 hours of sim time w/out these symptoms. Only recent change made was the August 11 AIRAC (Aeronautical information regulation and control) cycle update and update to my PMDG737 to reflect the current AIRAC cycle but I got 3-4 sectors of 2.4-2.6 hours each prior to symptoms showing. so thoughts? Im thinking the cable is somehow linked… 014908182022 edit: the audio pops are more frequent than the freezes. Both are not overly frequent but the pops are more frequent than the freezes. 015308182022 edit: also i noticed my headset (logitech g633) cycling on/off on my pc. Its wired. Does NOT do that on my ps5 (new cable for headset to ps5. Its a 7-8foot cable so its way too long for pc which has a 3.5-4foot cable from 2019). Forgot to put this info in the op and its why im suspecting the cable… 024108182022

There was no hesitation on my part. To borrow from the Matrix: Agent Smith: “Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet. You’re a plague and we… are the cure.” – Matrix Humans are harming this planet. I will with out regret press the green button. 013608182022

I think I can toss this wet paper bag into that dumpster two floors down and not hit that Audi next to it! <wet squelch as it splatters on said Audi> You walk into a circular room that is 15 feet wide. In the middle of this room is a pedestal that is 3 feet tall. On it you see a singular blinking red button. You walk up to it to examine it. You see no markings or indications as to its function. 183708132022 oh hey second post on a new page!

- according to all known laws of aviation; there is no way a bee should be able to fly. its wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground. the bee; of course; flies anyway because bees dont care what humans think is impossible

So, im at FL380 doing a sector. Im having a glitch where I can hear ATC but not my own voice (Azure text to speech) nor my FO (as long as I can hear ATC im ok, but seriously considering vatsim to just be done with these glitches), but anyway, im at FL380 happily chugging along checking my FCS for my cruise economy (how well im doing based on fuel burn, speeds and eta’s to check points) when suddenly my TCAS screams: TRAFFIC TRAFFIC TRAFFIC! DESCEND DESCEND DESCEND! Well I look up and at my 10’ 1000 feet above me is the stock representation of an A330 barreling at me. Was funny and unnerving. 150108122022

Been flying alot the last few days on MSFS2020, namely one or two sectors per day, and thursday morning (yesterday as i type this) i did a sector from las angeles to seattle. I fly with real world weather turned on, and ho boy howdy was it a wild ride over Klamath Falls in Oregon!! I was at FL390 and started getting kicked around to the tune of 400 to 700 feet per minute of up and down turbulence. At on point I hit a pocket of turbulence so violent it dropped my altitude by 1200 feet down!! I can only imagine how rough real passengers had it on the west coast yesterday. OH btw, if you have an iphone and an ipad and a bluetooth wireless keyboard for the ipad, did you know it will work with your iphone? I didnt know that, and now i do! This entire post fwiw was written on my iphone via a bluetooth keyboard. I know, its 0322 and Im nutty, but, im at FL390 again and enroute to St Louis. Im kinda bored as Im at cruise and my ai copilot has the radios, so ya 032408122020 032508122020

Greetings! Today is August 8, 2022 which is International Cat Day. Lets all celebrate our furry feline friends. Do you have any good stories about your cat or a cat you know or knew? I have a few, but, one I want to share is about my current kitty Pixie. Shes a domestic Short Hair in a calico coat. Shes current 6 years old. I adopted her in June 2016 when she was but 3 months old. My first kitty Pumpkin who was a domestic Long Hair in the orange tabby coat with white socks and a white bib who was just 60 days shy of 20 when she passed a week before I adopted Pixie. When I met Pixie I thought she was cute and picked her up. I had no idea I was going to adopt her. She told me I was her human. How? As I held her I was talking with my mother and the attendant in the kitten room Pixie began licking my beard. That was it. I knew then and there Pixie was to come home with me. 6 years later and shes just as cute and just as loving. Shes such a wonderful companion. So, now, its your turn 143708083022
