  1. It would seem I failed to get any images as I was modifying my solar truss arrays last night, but, I did however capture an image of my relay with its transfer/capture stage on its way to Dres. Off to sling more stuff at the skies! 235206092020 edit: that's the Mun and Kerbin fading away there in the background. 235306092020
  2. I sent up a tiny repair mission to my station mentioned a page back to address the constant attempts by my station to take the solar array trusses and fold them in. I used a pair of grip plates (1 per truss) and either the TJ-1 or TJ-2 and a receiver port for each to try to lock it down. If this fails I will likely hook it and winch lock it as I disconnect the entire truss and pull the G-11 hinges to then try to fuse the trusses back on. A process I am NOT looking forward to. After servicing my station I sent a relay to Dres to push my relay network out some. My plan is to put relays in orbit of everything. Planets, moons, the Kerbol system itself. I will have full coverage! Pictures will follow later. 041806092020
  3. I sent up a module to my Dachshund Station filling out its capabilities. At least in my head canon, as I am in sandbox lol. I also did some EVA work with Bill removing some RCS blocks and otherwise tidying up the outside of the station. I think in all my years since 0.21 <when I joined> today marks my longest EVA that I can recall! Coming in at a whopping 17 minutes 49 seconds of pure EVA work. I know it doesn't sound like a lot of time, but, it was enough to nearly deplete poor Bill's EVA fuel, and when you are moving bits and pieces around a station with dismal illumination in orbital night, it those nearly 18 minutes felt like an eternity. I also sent up a crew. Have 2 scientists and like 3 engineers and a pilot sitting around up there. I forget honestly how to make the astronaut center produce more applicants... I need a few more scientists rather than engineers lol. All I have in my astronaut center right now is a bunch of eager pilots hoping to be hired. Anyway, here is the station: I must say, I am rather proud of this station! 062406082020 Oh another question: anyway to get those blasted truss sections to stop trying to close into the station? They are attached to the core of the station by the G-11 Hinges from the robotics addition from breaking ground. I disable the motor on them and yet they keep turning back on. I plan on sending up a mission later tonight to just put some grip pads up and affix some KIS/KAS TJ-1 or TJ-2 or the TB-60 items <how those transfer fuel through the connector ports is beyond me lol> and see if I cant lock it down that way. Tried once before but they unhooked after having them set to docked... Sorry to ramble in the edit.. 063306082020
  4. @touzenesmy It is way way way too premature for anyone to make an informed and educated choice on purchasing or abstaining from purchasing KSP2. Not counting the developers of KSP2 past or present or the companies themselves and/or possibly lawyers for them, we just do not have enough information. We as consumers are not privy to the whole picture. We may never be. Allow me to quote myself from another thread in this same type of topic: If we as consumers are going to choose where we stand, we cannot and should not make a choice that is based as much on insinuation and bias or missing information as is fact. We should and I would insist we make our choice based on a preponderance of factual evidence. It is only right. I am going to quote @pandaman as I think he gives a great example of my point: “Hypothetical scenario... A big dog attacks and seriously mauls a Little dog. The big dog is therefore, understandably, deemed dangerous and violent. What we didn't see is the little dog provoke and sink it's teeth into the big dog's 'bits' first and refuse to let go. So the big dog was forced to react in self defence. Which is the most violent dog? The little one for attacking first, the big one for use of 'excessive force' in response, or a bit of both? Without all the information, incorrect assumptions can be reached far too easily. Two, equally accurate, accounts of an event can differ because the individual observers were looking from a different angle so neither had the benefit of all the information. Also, sometimes they 'fill in the gaps' and get it wrong, and sometimes they leave gaps simply because they don't know they have a gap. Incomplete information leads to uninformed judgement.“ both my own self quote and the quote from @pandaman are taken from here. 095106052020
  5. Problem is though we all lack the full picture. Simply put: gaps in the knowledge are being filled in with biases, emotions, theories and likely other things I am not thinking of. We cannot and likely will not ever know why TT has not commented. Its possible there is a corporate level type of NDA (no clue how probable, but even a remote unlikely chance in this case warrants its mention in the name of thoroughness) or any number of other reasons for silence. bottom line: we do not have the full picture. I cannot morally or ethically pass judgement with out a full picture based on fact and not conjecture. Thats my opinion though. 082106052020
  6. @Thalamask @KerikBalm i think something deeper like an NDA maybe the reason for radio silence. At least some of it. Thats my feeling at least. 072906052020
  7. @Nate Simpson It is nice to hear those words from you. I just hope like many others that things stay on track as you indicate they are. Again, it is awesome to hear word from the inside. 001306052020
  8. Oh wow... I cant say just one thing. I love the freedom and space (pun i know) sandbox gives me to write and play out my own story, and to breath a creative breath into the void and bring that wondrous story alive. I also love how as @Lewie said: Dont think I could say it better. 024306042020
  9. If I am understanding all of this correctly, this entire situation took place some 5 or 6 months ago. I am not in the industry so I will not venture into any speculation. I feel sorry for those who got hurt by what happened, but, at the end of the day I do not have nor will I ever have all the facts regarding what and why it happened. Ethically speaking it would be unethical of me the consumer to make a knee jerk reaction and say I wont buy KSP2 because of x, y or z reasons. Everything I learned of KSP2 personally came well into the current pandemic and frankly, the product itself looks good so far. To be fair I have played my fair share of games by take two, and if in the end they bring a compelling and good game to market, then, in honor of the folks who started the work, namely Star Theory, I would be a willing consumer. Forget not where KSP2 started. 225006032020 .
  10. 666 community reputation. Neat. 220306022020

  11. @Pthigrivi lol you made me laugh at your first portion of your reply. The im a bot thing. Needed that! i started thinking about it, and i swear i heard something about supply lines being automated and it made me wonder if what ever we will use for LS will become automated? ——————— lets hope design choices are respected by higher ups. 171606022020
  12. Im going to wait and see what happens. Like I said, if i am made to use mp then its a hard pass. Id rather just be able to pretend mp in ksp2 is nonexistent and stay offline. and as a slight deviation off topic those numbers are a manual time and date record keeping system. I can look back at any post i make with my timestamp and know precisely when i hit submit or edited a post. Its more accurate for me than the forums time stamp. After 24 hours it just says what day and thats it. I know its geeky but its muh thing lol. and back on topic: id rather not need tricks to play solo. Worried? Not really, just more cautious honestly. 074906022020
  13. @Hotel26 i should add that my run to Moho was direct descent from roughly the same orbital altitude as kerbins orbit. I forget at this point about an hour or so post mission If my dive was outside or inside kerbins orbit. Wasnt patient enough to gravity assist lol. 030706022020
  14. Well, I got my relay around Moho and boy howdy I went into that thinking it was going to be easier than it was. I mean, some few versions back I sent a crew to Moho and returned them back alive, and that was a heavy craft what with a crew module and the like. I thought that hey a simply relay dish into a polar orbit would be easy right? lol nope! Ok, first image is just after getting it into orbit around Kerbin, did not think to get a picture of it sitting on the launch pad, but, it had 4 3.75 meter SLS style liquid boosters with 4 Clydesdale boosters strapped onto it for that extra oomph. BUT, here it is in orbit: Then I decided to grab a picture of it with its just recently entered orbit remaining Dv. Boy, I was smug. It bit me LOL. I was smug thinking 6715 total Dv remaining would be sufficient to get into a nice polar orbit of Moho. NOPE! I had to in a panic turn on infinite fuel just to slow her down into a capture. I had already at this point decided that enough was enough, I am here, lets just get this into orbit and be done with it. I couldn't bring myself to faff about with a restart and reload of the mission from build and launch ya know? I may just delete it and try again later, but, for now, it is what it is lol. OH, btw, I learned or relearned <dunno honestly> that screen shots remove your mouse pointer from the image. 014806022020
  15. I decided that today would be a good time to do some internal housekeeping on my pc with regards to steam and my games there. It includes KSP of course since Steam is where I got KSP way way back when lol. Anyway, I wanted to make sure everything in my file transfer from my c drive to my e drive went right. SO, I decided to remove my module manager configs for KSP forgetting to yank out the file folder as well. SO, in trying to figure out if my fresh short cut taken from the e drive was in fact launching ksp I kept seeing module manager applying patches and could not for the life of me figure out how w/ the configs gone this was still happening. Yup, shows just how out of practice with KSP I am lol. Anyway, about 10 minutes of head scratching I checked my short cut, yup that was showing e drive as its home. SO, go into the steam folder, go to where ksp is sitting and what do I see? the file folder sitting there likely laughing 1s and 0s at me for being so silly. I am now going to relax and actually PLAY KSP now. But, ya, that's what I have done SO FAR today in KSP, drive myself nutty with my rusty memory of how it works. Oh, for anyone curious, the file move was successful, and any trace of steam on my c drive is gone and everything seems happy thus far on my e drive. Had to move it because the C drive has like 10gb left where as my E has half a TB left. Ya, I derped when I put steam on my new pc lol. Ok enough blabbering, off to put relay dishes around everything, well, that's the plan. Wish me luck! 000906022020 014706022020
  16. @AntaresMC i like ur idea of “life” support. I could see that. As to forced multiplayer, it can be and has been a thing. Diablo 3 from what i remember forced an always logged into blizzard thing. Its why i deleted it after my first play through. With info on mp being sparse im going to try to not speculate too much. 183006012020
  17. if its a kerbal plushie that gets put into Orbit, I suggest we go with one of the original three kerbals, I would nominate Jebediah as he is the pilot of the bunch, and known for his outstanding bravery 025506012020
  18. putting aside the current pandemic as no-one could have predicted this nightmare. I am not very concerned myself about the pushback in release date. I think its a good thing, so long as they release it sometime soon™ where soon™ is sometime in the next 24 months. can only keep a kerbal like jeb occupied and not leaving bill or bob on Dres for so long XD seriously tho, I think they will do nice things to KSP2 in the intervening time between now and fall'21. 025206012020
  19. for me there are only 2 things that would stop me cold from buying KSP2. 1. Forced life support. I don't mean like the colonist making children, that's cool, its the kind of realism you see in some of the mods, where kerbals will die if you don't have life support stuff like oxygen generators and food. Forcing me to micromanage that kinda thing would be a hard pass for me. If its a feature that can be toggled then its a non issue. 2. Forced Multiplayer. I have said it so many times, but, multiplayer is a thing I myself never wanted, never asked for and still refuse to use for a variety of reasons. But the shortest explanation I can use is: I cannot see how they can reconcile timewarp, part counts and mods as a very short list of things. those 2 things are a hard pass for me. Thankfully item 2 on this list looks to be an optional thing if what ive heard is correct. As to item 1, I need more information, which I trust will come at some point. 024906012020
  20. Ok, lemme picture this in my head. <grins as visions of KSP2 yet to come dance in his head like a tuna sandwich does in Hobbes's head teehee> Ok. I know. I have purchased KSP2 from the store and installed it. I have loaded it and am staring wide eyed at a new KSP. What do I do first? Simple. Check all the games settings and make sure everything is configured to my happy satisfaction. Realistically this is honestly the first thing I will do. The second thing is to check my staging err um control schemes <keyboard, mouse, etc etc> to make sure things are close enough to what I am used to and then I move onto my third thing! Try out career or adventure mode <which ever sticks as the final name> to see if it draws me in and gives me a reason to use that mode. If not, well, start a sandbox save and play away the time That is what I will first do. What a fun thought exercise this was. 011606012020
  21. Ive seen the sandcastle 4 or 5 maybe 6 times since version .21. 231305312020
  22. Glasses would be a hoot! But I am still staying concerned. Until at least its known if the picture of the KSP Ariane V is place holder or not. If it isnt then I am beyond concerned for Rosetta and BepiCo ya know? 234805292020
  23. I was concerned when I saw a "guaranteed" date of July 1, which to me after being here since 2013 seemed concerning because having always remembered Squad <when they were primary> not giving hard dates because a hard date can be easily missed felt very uncomfortable seeing a hard date. I want to say that I was excited to see another space agency team up with KSP. We got some spectacular parts when NASA partnered with KSP and gave us the SLS stuff. We got some cool asteroid stuff when B612 partnered with KSP for Asteroid Day one year. Now, we have the European Space Agency partnering with KSP and if the picture of the Ariane 5 is anything to go by, my concerns are much more deeper than just a hard date. I am thrilled that such a niche game is getting this much attention, I really am, however, in this instance, it seems like a few stickers were slapped onto stock parts and the day was called. I hope I am wrong and that the above image is a place holder, but, if it isn't, I hold no honest hope for Rosetta or bepi Colombo being anything close to accurate to the real world counterparts. This is just my own opinion, but, it would seem I am not alone in my concerns. I just hope our concerns are unfounded. My opinion of course. Your opinion may differ. 230705292020
  24. I just sent a probe into a polar orbit of Eve. All the talk in the threads about where we have been gave me the itch to send something to Eve. Some day I may even send a kerbal down to the surface. Someday XD But, here is a picture of the ERA or Eve Reconnaissance Array. 030005292020
  25. ive answered this before in a similar thread called "The Places You've Been" but I am happy to answer this again. If it is a body in stock KSP, I have at the very least sent some kind of probe to it. I have landed and returned a crew from Eeloo some years ago which was fun. I have been playing KSP off and on since 2 days after the release <assuming that steam and the website released .21 at the same time> of .21 ksp some 7 years-ish ago but have yet to send a kerbal to eve let alone try to land a kerbal and return said kerbal from the surface of Eve. 233605272020
