[1.4.2] ForScience! v1.5.2 - Your science autopilot.
ansaman replied to WaveFunctionP's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
That is VERY kind of you sir. I have been doing a lot of warping and clicking without your mod, but I understand that you might have other priorities so I didn't ask or even mention it out of courtesy. THANK-YOU. -
KW Rocketry Redux makes KSP look great and adds larger 5 meter parts. Munar Industries adds neat small side mounted tanks that accept additional engines. Chatterer adds so much to the ambience and experience of the game like breathing sounds during EVAs. Of course, there is MechJeb which adds all kinds of DV and other data and autopilot aids. SpaceY Heavy Lifting is great for all kinds of additional great looking parts.

Yes, play career. After completing most of the work in the Kerbin system, I tend to have a particular set of goals: Go into orbit around Kerbol, do science and return. Orbit and land on Duna with a probe. Orbit and land on Eve with a probe. Orbit and land on Ike with a probe. Orbit and land on Gilly with a probe. Manned mission and return to Duna. (usually have a tanker orbiting Duna for guaranteeing return fuel. Moho flyby and if possible orbit. Multiple flybys of objects in the Jool system. By the time this is all done, you probably will have sufficient science and money to tackle custom missions. I tend to be a little free with the money and science multipliers since I get the biggest kicks out of designing missions and craft to execute them. I really enjoy doing the multiple flyby missions and have managed to do Mun, Minimus, Duna, and Eve in one shot.

(Drop Support)[1.6.1] Real Time Clock 2 [v1.11] (29 Jan 2019)
ansaman replied to Li0n's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Thanks for this useful and effective mod. I spend way too much time playing KSP and this helps me maintain awareness so that I can get to bed and make it to work in the morning. -
My answer for these problems is to calculate what I need for the mission and then add 25 percent more than I think I need and if possible, even more. If you are concerned about supplies, consider a smaller crew. I test mission critical landers and capsules before I send them manned.

Those folks who are far more educated with mods usually create a thread listing which mods work with the new update. Anytime folks

Wait... do you have a mechjeb module on the vehicle??? Nothing works or appears until you have that module. (I know this sounds like a basic question.. but just trying to be helpful.) To check, go to sandbox, select a command module, then attach a mechjeb module (looks like a little walkie-talkie). Then look to the top of the screen for a mechjeb menu that will appear.

I had a Mk2 type spaceplane in orbit and did an EVA. Immediately, the Kerbal showed signs of overheating with a bar display. It did not get any better or any worse. Did the Kerbal get residual heat from the exterior of Mk2 cockpit or is this a glitch?

1.3 And More: Confirmed Features
ansaman replied to Garrett Kerman's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Oh that would be very helpful to many newbies! Do not ask about release dates. It is heavily discouraged. Do not nag the developers- 188 replies

1.3 And More: Confirmed Features
ansaman replied to Garrett Kerman's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
The developers seem to want to "surprise" us with some new feature they keep hinting at. I am waiting for screaming flaming Kerbals staggering from every wreck or body parts and internal organs splattering like in some first person shooters (Yes, I spelled that out.) MOAR EGGCITEMENTS!- 188 replies

This may have been mentioned and I missed it. I will set up a maneuver using Mechjeb, typically an advanced transfer. The maneuver executes properly and then just as it terminates, it executes the same thrust maneuver again unless I stop it. I am not sure whether this is a Mechjeb or a KSP problem. I am further not sure if this is related to staging in the middle of executing a maneuver or not. Anyone else experience this?

I have noticed that some of my splashed down craft start to sink rather alarmingly. Those of you who know aerospace history will recall that the Mercury capsule, "Liberty 7", sank nearly taking Gus Grissom to the bottom of the ocean with it (he later perished in the Apollo One fire.) Two questions: Is there someplace I can find the buoyancy of individual parts? Will someone make parts that will inflate and keep my Kerbals from drowning??

Is it just me or did the news postings in the launcher stop working?
-
No, it's great. I usually can revert, but because I had been craft switching that was unavailable. I also usually do a quicksave before launch, but I had forgotten like the designer forgot the decoupler.
-
I had the Mk 1-2 3 man Command Pod, Service Bay, Half-Size fuel tank and engine in orbit after having rescued two Kerbals from low orbit. Did the deorbit burn... all was nominal... until I hit staging and with a big "whoosh" realized that I had failed to include a decoupler. No revert available! Oh boy... we are all gonna DIE... but let's see what we can do. Opened up the doors on the equipment bay, extended antennas, extended the solar panels in hopes of increasing drag. Things started to get hot... started to get temperature bars and everything started to glow. I still had an engine and fuel so I gave it a few shots to slow down some more. Figured that with chutes and perhaps a last second burn the command module might survive the impact. I only had a little burn time left. At about 10km altitude I was still going real fast and somehow started to get sideways. Decided to close the equipment bay doors and realized that I did have a heat shield sandwiched in there. Hit jettison shroud button and that did nothing. Hit jettison heat shield button and... WOW... the capsule tumbles free! The rest of the flight is routine except for Jeb and company being hoarse from screaming. Back at KSC... Jeb goes looking for the designer. Someone deserves a fat lip.

No...no... he won't be Captain Musk, he will be King Elon the First of Mars!

Oh NO! This brought to mind the Smurfs where many adjectives, verbs, and nouns are replaced as in: "I caught Jeb Kerman keballing the kerbal! His kerbal was all kerballed!" Hey... HEY... Language !
