  1. [h=1]Sordidae, Turpes Et Faetidae (plus a secret):[/h]
  2. Then there is a point about halfway between a real simulator and a PC flight sim:
  3. This is rather long, but cool. Polygonium Opus:
  4. Not Steam, but free: My favorite old game is Bungie's Marathon series (which consists of the official trilogy and many third party scenarios, maps and levels [they were fun to create and play]). You are a security officer aboard the UESC Marathon colony ship. Are you the 10th Mjolnir Mark IV cyborg? You may well get answers to that question as you battle your way through the Marathon; alien ships, planet and moon. This FPS works on current Windows, Mac and Linux machines by using the Aleph One engine. The open source engine and the games are free, thanks to Bungie. You may get them here: http://marathon.sourceforge.net The site has a few pics. Here's one from Bungie: The graphics (resolution, etc.) have been improved in Aleph One over this old pic.
  5. You'll hear them near the end of the tune:
  6. I think the OP was just covering the ground; there are a lot of differing musical preferences here and maybe the intent was not to exclude anyone.
  7. The space race will be won when humanity reaches planets at other stars.
  8. This might help: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Convex_and_concave_polygons#Convex_polygons Consider it in light of the cross section you are referring to.
  9. A play through of Tempus Irae, a 3rd party mod of Bungie's Marathon Infinity, set in Renaissance Italy. In this episode, Narcogen and Blackstar enter the "Gates of Delirium".
  10. I've done something similar but with the tanks attached (and later detached) laterally, which would be more feasible with more realistic physics, etc. (pumping laterally is less demanding than pumping vertically against both ambient gravity and craft gee forces). My main motivation for such tank placement is simply to limit the length of the entire craft. I must say that I've used this approach more during interplanetary missions than I have for pad to orbit launching. As for the "realism" of your designs: if they work, no problem!
  11. Welcome, and happy crash-- uh, have fun with all the cool toys Squad and the Mod makers have made available! As for things to do, consider not only rockets and planes, but rovers and boats too.
  12. There is no 45 adapter; what did they do? Use 2 sided tape to hold the record down? Heheh!
  13. Electronica and drone are other possible search words. Of course there are early forms of electronic, such as: 'Forbidden Planet' hBQ95glQRNot sure about 'The Day the Earth Stood Still', since it seems to be a hybrid of instrumental and electronic.
  14. Yes, Oni was a really good game. By the way, you can play the Marathon series on any modern computer. Get it and the open source engine here. You may have heard of the Myth series also. Here is a sample of what the music was like: Enjoy your studies!
  15. Try the Marathon Music Remade site. You can use the player there or download the freely available music. And the musician is a planetary geologist. Not pure ambient or droning music, but this music never had and still has no vocals. If you know this music, it means you were a Bungie fan before anyone ever heard of Halo.
  16. I'd imagine that litter box training is not an issue.
  17. Ah, yes. That was not so much "music" as it was "sounds". Now here is some music to repeat in one's mind.
  18. It would have to be this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xot9li_qGCk
  19. I am no artist, but I know what I like when I see it. There are some very very good submissions shared so far! I'm not fond of the ones which look identical to the male Kerbals, but the others are well thought out and implemented. Such Kerbals will really make the game look much better, IMHO.
