1. I doubt it will be good, but I'll watch it. I need to know how bad it is, after all.
2. I'm not particularly opposed or in favour of 'shipping', I just don't particularly think of it when it comes to KSP. Many of my reasons are in line with what's already been stated above, but the main one has to do with the fact that I'm concerned with building spacecraft - many of which will probably work. (I'm 30% sure!) Given that I may be sending the occupants to a rather nasty, but visually impressive death, I find it best not to imagine detailed backstories and whatnot for them.
3. Although elsewhere on the forum you can find a list of my gripes with the new forum, I'm in the 'no' camp. At the end of the day, the old forums were becoming unsupportable. That's a situation I can sympathize a great deal with from an admin pov. Rather than reverting, effort is much better spent improving the functionality of what we have currently, especially considering the most frequent complaint I've observed seems to be the visual look of the forum - something I assume could be fixed relatively easily by tweaking the colour scheme.
4. http://forum.unity3d.com/threads/about-python-and-unity.87790/ The TL;DR seems to be theoretically yes. In addition to C#, Unity by default also supports JavaScript, so presumably that might be an alternative that's supported out of the box. Having said that, I should point out that whilst I've dabbled a little in Unity, I have zero experience modding KSP, so I'm kind of guessing here. (Interestingly enough, looking at the thread linked in the link above -> http://forum.unity3d.com/threads/python-interpreter-in-unity.86461/ check out post #2. That's our HarvesteR i presume?)
5. Initial impressions? Not overly impressed tbh. For some reason I had to reset my password, even though it was saved in the browser. I'm a little surprised by that one. The colour scheme could do with a little work. It's not as obvious where one post ends and the next begins, compared to the old forum. EDIT: Oh look, my signature got mangled in the transfer too. Also, I strongly dislike the linespacing.
6. I first came across the Niberu theory via Zecharia Sitchin's books. At the time he was apparently one of seven people on the planet who were able to read Sumerian cuneiform. None of the other seven shared Sitchin's interpretations of the Sumerian texts. It's an entertaining theory, but almost certainly not correct.
(Poll : do you think they're lying or serious ?)
Oh they're serious alright. Serious about making money.
7. I've been using a Thrustmaster T-Flight Hotas X, been very happy with it. It's a little plasticky, creaks a tiny bit, but otherwise it's a fine stick for ~€65, especially considering the crazy money you could drop on a warthog or the like.
8.
Yeah, maybe somebody will donate you couple of hundred dollars, or you might somehow even meet the 7k goal, but what happens in couple of years when you need to service something else? You'll ask for charity again? Don't live above you income.
You might not be surprised to learn he also needs about $700 to finish off his 'badass' PC build. It occurs to me that 7499275 might be better off trying to raise the cash he needs via a patreon for his youtube channel or somesuch. It would certainly have more of an air of earning money for rendering a service, as opposed to what his current approach looks like.
9. End of an era indeed. Maxmaps, to many of us, you have been the public face of the dev team. Squadcast will never be the same again. I look forward to seeing your name attached to some other project in the future, but for now, you will be missed.
10. I'm looking forward to it, it looks pretty decent, but I doubt I'll be picking it up till they release the inevitable "Game of the $time_period" version. Besides, I've a copy of New Vegas I still haven't played through yet.
11. Nothing will ever beat Mel's Hole for sheer lulz value.
12. Me too, but in my case it was because George Noory is nowhere near as entertaining as Art Bell. OP: I don't think there's an abnormal amount of conspiracy theories surrounding NASA, I'd suggest that it just seems that way, since (given your presence on these forums), your interest in space leads you to notice them moreso than the myriad theories about other groups or events.
13. That's what I've heard too. Add me to the 'keep it' camp.
14. There are many metrics of success. This just happens to be one of the better ones. Congrats Squad!
15. Interesting. Well, on the wishlist it goes to await a suitable sale.
16. So, to ask a slightly dumb question: If I had played and enjoyed all the previous X games, but avoided Rebirth, because it seemed like a departure from the series staples of setting up vast trading fleets and factory complexes, is it worth giving it a look now? Specifically, are you still restricted to flying one ship? Can you buy other ships, and command them similar to X3?
17. It's an interesting theory mpc755. I note it seems to be somewhat old news, going on the date of the article (2011), and your comments at the bottom (#35). Has any further supporting evidence come to light?
18. There's a conspiracy to make all people on earth believe in conspiracies.
19. The first computer I owned - a ZX Spectrum +2 - came with a cassette that included amongst other things, a version of Conway's Game of Life, and a simulation of Rabbit and Fox populations. This stuff is not new by any stretch.
20. I started using Lightbeam back when it was called Collusion. It's a great tool for visualizing who tracks you on the web. Below is the creator talking about the tool, and why he created it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f_f5wNw-2c0

Best linux OS?

Just in the spirit of providing virtualization alternatives, I'll drop this here: https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads I'm sure there's good reasons for using VMWare, but Virtualbox has serviced my needs admirably. Also, in addition to the myriad dual-booting options, you can run most distros from a live cd, or even boot from a USB thumb-drive. However learning to run stuff in a virtual environment is a learning experience in itself which will probably benefit you in the future anyway, so you're probably best going in that direction to begin with. EDIT: Oh yeah, we're talking about distro preferences. I have to say I learned most from Slackware, but for day-to-day use, anything Debian-derived is fine by me.
22. It's probably not the model you were thinking of buying, but I'd still jump at the chance to buy a CRAY-1 if I ever got the opportunity. Might be no use as a computer these days, but it'd still be useful as a piece of furniture.
23. Always good to find fellow EBM-loving people Here's a couple of vids: Blixa Bargeld & Gudrun Gut - Die Sonne ohGr - majik To be fair most any Laibach video is pretty awesome.
24. Have written code, can confirm. *BROKEN RECORD MODE ENGAGED* I'd still love it if Squadcast was mirrored to the KSP youtube channel. (Think of all those extra eyeballs!) And thanks as usual for the summary!
25. Until somewhere actually offers that, you could go with the O'Reilly book. http://shop.oreilly.com/product/0636920022565.do You'd think a game doesn't need a guide from a publishing house you'd normally associate with comp-sci stuff. You'd think that. Terraria, Spacechem - both good games I own that I can reccomend. Also, in addition to the weeklong monday deals, don't forget to check the daily deals, midweek deals (usually on a Tuesday) and weekend deals (usually on a Thursday.) There's almost no reason to ever pay full price on Steam if you have a small bit of patience.
