  1. This warms me beyond belief... I don't kid Katateochi when I say that you are part of the reason why I started making KSP videos and streams in the first place. Your Constellation video was the first 'large-scale' KSP video I ever saw, and honestly seeing projects that awesome are part if why I started getting into modding (that and I saw something that I wanted to improve). Thank you so much for your kind words, and while you said you haven't wanted to tweak anything, let me know if you have any suggestions! This pack is a collaboration, not just mine My favorite parts are Eve's clouds, Laythe's Luminescence, and Vall's surface textures. Vall and Pol's glow are close behind. And PS, Craft Manager is a work of art!
  2. You mean make your own base the base that shows up in space center view yes? Go into options-difficulty settings-Kerbal Konstructs and tick the box that says "focus last space center" or something similar. It makes the last runway/pad you launched from the camera focus for Space Center view this said though, there isn't a way to replicate a lot of the functions of the standard KSC, so I ended up turning the setting off and just launching from my custom space center
  3. Ahh yeah that's where the problem occurred. Editing from the config is the way to do it yeah. You'll have to delete the Spectra folder from GameData and replace it with an unmodified one to fix the config files let me know if you have questions! I'm happy to help
  4. Not necessarily, but it's possible. I have yet to see how the Ultra shader handles it, but in the case of some planets (Like Duna, Eve, and possibly Laythe) I might remove the Kopernicus surface textures since the ultra shader has better detail. The textures in Spectra were more or less a replacement of the outdated planet surfaces, but now that the surfaces are getting revamped they might not be needed.
  5. This happens if you try to edit EVE with the in-game GUI. I did some special ModuleManager patched to enable/disable certain layers when it detects if Scatterer is installed, but if you hit save it breaks the patch and duplicates layers. Did you open the EVE GUI?
  6. Beautiful pictures Yes, Duna has a bluish tint to it - you can watch the trailer and check the images in the OP to see how it should look.
  7. Which visual pack did you try? FPS is highly dependent on the pack. Also what CPU/GPU do you have? KSP is CPU intensive (Physics calculations) while visual packs are GPU intensive (Particles & textures). Packs with more particles are much more laggy than packs without. I optimized Spectra to look as good as I could with as few particles as possible so the lag it causes is much less than most packs
  8. Performance isn't too bad. Spectra is one of if not the best optimized cloudpack. That said you will lose frames simply because you are adding extra particles and effects. I can't give you an estimate on how many frames you'll lose so your best bet is to install it yourself and see
  9. Those are incredible! Do you mind if I add these to an album and link them in the original post with your username? I'm glad you like all of the effects so much!
  10. You might need to go to some lower terrain, the storms are close to the surface so highlands obscure them
  11. Ah, you mean the rainbow clouds in the main menu yes? That's a bug with AVP, but it is only present in the main menu and does not appear in game. It happens when you turn a few atmosphere sliders up to too high in Scatterer.
  12. Hm... that is an interesting idea and it would save finding new textures. I might give that a try.
  13. Hm... that would be difficult to do since KSPRC did not have visible streets during the day and I would have to create yet another addon to have concrete during the day I would also have to find good, HD tiling high altitude city textures (difficult to find, I've searched in vain already), and also create new configs to have them tile properly (also difficult).
  14. KSPRC city lights is also a mod in CKAN that you can download as an addon for Spectra- I didn't want to include them in the main release but enough people liked them that I revived them from KSPRC and made it into a standalone pack so they can be added to any EVE mod now
  15. I'll have to look at his configs. If I increase the area anymore creates rainbow clouds in the main menu. It could be tied to how low the clouds are, but I'm not certain. Thank you for the compliment! I don't know what you mean by "you know where the make Kerbin look a bit better.. this mod doesn't change the stock improvements on any planet right?" Do you mean the Ultra terrain shaders? Spectra does not effect the ultra terrain shaders. The clouds are 8k, that is correct
  16. Oooh nice. Yeah, I'll take a look. I'll let you know if I decide to use it in the next release (If that's ok with you!) EDIT: I took a look at it and it looks like its a more washed out version of the texture I've been using. I should be able to get a better looking effect by upping the opacity in the editor without changing the texture. More on this soon.
  17. No problem Sadly 2620x1310 isn't nearly high enough res for me I do have 8k cloud textures though, like the one above that look very similar still. I may mold them together a bit to get a good looking cloud map that still has full res.
  18. Ah yes I remember this now! This was a while back, and I didn't understand what that setting did or how it would help at the time. I definitely should add that back. Nice! I thought you might have grabbed a new texture. Hm... I just searched through my archive (I have a rather large collection of defunct EVE cloudpacks that I drew inspiration from for Spectra ), and I can't seem to find this exact version of the texture anywhere. The hurricane in the top middle looks very reminiscent of KSPRC's though. It's challenging to pin what mod it might be from because most cloud mods use variations of the same source image. Default EVE had it, KSPRC had it's own version of it, SVE used it, and Astronomer's Visual pack used to use it back when Astronomer was still active on the forum and updating the mod himself. I haven't checked what the new version is using but I'd assume its using the same thing. I notice though that your cloud texture is quite low resolution compared to the one I have in Spectra if you have an 8k copy of that texture, I might want to ask if I can include it in the next release of Spectra. EDIT: I may have found something similar... This was the texture that I used in a pre-release of Spectra before I made it official. I have a copy of it in 8k, which could work quite well in the current release perhaps. It wouldn't be hard to clear up the poles a bit too.
  19. Strange, I haven't noticed any artifacts around the mountains in high atmo. Could you post a picture to show it? If there's a bug I definitely want to get it fixed I'm glad to hear you've been liking Spectra though! And even better I'm happy to know you've been able to modify it to your liking I was actually the one who created the KSPRC CityLights config to CKAN because I've always liked his lights but haven't wanted to include it by default. I've been thinking of increasing the number of clouds in Spectra, too. Did you change the cloud textures too or just the configs? I might like to have a look at what you've got...
  20. If it's a memory leak it's definitely not from Spectra, all spectra is is a collection of configs and textures that add effects via Scatterer/EnvironmentalVisualEnhancements/Kopernicus. Only change I made last few days was changing a couple settings to fix a bug with the main menu. I'm afraid I'm not sure what's going on here
