  1. So my challenge is simple. Get a 80 ton 300 part dump truck into any orbit around Kerbin without mods. Have fun! I really want to see if somebody can do it Get the dump truck from here:
  2. If you have any military applications for a giant stock dump truck go ahead and use it!
  3. Presenting... The Kelaz 80T Mega Dump Truck ALL OF MY CRAFT ARE BROKEN AS OF 1.1 DO NOT DOWNLOAD OR USE UNLESS PLAYING A PRIOR VERSION 80 tons of 100% stock Kerbal innovation. You're probably asking how this one is so different. You have seen my mega trucks before yes. And especially other Kelaz series dump trucks. The Kelaz 80T was built back from scratch in design similar to the Kelaz 85T yet is actually a completely separate and new design. The first difference is that it runs on upgraded and improved axles that are stronger, more reliable and even lesser part count than it's similar predecessors on the Kelaz 85T. These axles also come with a more forgiving suspension that will dampen out bumps in the road. A must for long hours working at the quarry. The improvements to the axles and suspension along with a slight weight reduction makes this Truck more mechanically reliable to it's predecessors. The second difference is a slightly shorter wheelbase that gives the Kelaz 80T more maneuverability and a sharper turning radius compared to it's predecessors. Just like the Kelaz 85T all of the wheels of the Kelaz 80T rotate independent from each other which makes turning even easier! A slightly less groundbreaking improvement is the addition of a parking brake that can be toggled by pressing 0. Turns out the older versions couldn't park on inclines. oops. We rectified this here! And the coolest upgrade? A hydraulic plow that the truck can use to load itself. Heck yeah right? This plow is an optional addition that will kick the part count up to 360. But if you ask me the increase in part count is worth it for this contraption. What are you waiting for? Download It Here! Regular Version (306 Parts) https://www.dropbox.com/s/2x5rosf3rxsg64c/Kelaz-80T.craft?dl=0 With Hydraulic Plow (360 Parts) https://www.dropbox.com/s/ksozaqfcbhgn5ls/Kelaz-80T%20%28Plow%29.craft?dl=0
  4. It's coming together! Made a new Dump Truck based on the Kelaz 85 design but has upgraded heavy duty axels and suspension... Even at lower part count! Only at the cost of having a slightly shorter wheelbase which gives it a far better turning radius. Still has independent turning wheels and this version will come off the factory with it's own plow giving it the ability to load itself. Of course I will release a version without it as well. And a super low part count version. Always 100% stock. HYPE!
  5. Basically the same old junk as i'm doing today
  6. The Kelaz is getting a giant dozer plow to load itself with. Very promising so far. Cauz' of course someone has to clean up all of those failed rocket and spaceplane debris around the KSC.
  7. This is a thread that deserves brought back! What could Mitch do with the new tools? This thread is too historic to close!
  8. You don't argue with moderators. It's a craft exchange now I guess. Very nice looking mod!
  9. Again. I just have to re-post what Azimech already said in your own thread. I've made turbo-shaft powered vehicles before but since .90 there's no point in them. This was the last Mega-Truck that I built pre-1.0 and last Mega-Truck I made with turbo-shaft engines. If you want powered axles the more practical bet these days are SAS torque wheels. If you want to make a new one using turbo-shaft power please do so and you will tremendously benefit the craft sharing community! Maybe modify your tractor to make one? I would like to see how it turns out.
  10. Yes exactly. 280 parts for one powered welded axel. I'm not ever going to exceed 400 parts in any build that I post here so people can actually use it. My whole truck here is only 330 parts. There's an art to making crazy mechanical things and then the art of making them as simple as possible. Here rests my point. I do love your jet powered tractor though
  11. You do realize that this doesn't work anymore right? To actually get what you're saying to work you need ridiculously powerful fuel inefficient engines or attach the engines themselves to whats rotating. Either way leads to impracticality and high part count. I've been making these types of things for years so of course I know what you're saying. Just download Azimech's turbo-shaft helicopter and see. It's a shame that this source of power doesn't really work anymore but it's just the truth.
  12. Lol yes the wheels do rotate. They're not just for looks. But this version is powered by jet engines at the rear of the truck. This is a practicality measure. If each wheel was powered you would have to switch to each of the 4 independent axles to control their speed. I thought it would be more simple if you could control it all from the same part. I'm happy that I was able to conceal them so well
  13. To be fair he could just download it and solve the existential crisis by taking a closer look. The jets in game used to be called turbofans so yeah thats why I got confused. It's common knowledge Azimech's "Turbofans" don't really work anymore in this version of KSP.
  14. Not only is it fun to drive. It tastes delicious! Seriously though... I love that suspension! Still want to see it actually on Duna.
  15. I added a download available via KerbalX if people are uncomfortable with dropbox. If you're curious you can check it out here: https://kerbalx.com/Jon144/Kelaz-85T I plan on uploading more of my craft there.
  16. Made a new small coax but it isn't all that fantastic. I might make a post of it but eh whatever.
  17. Lucky! I've had to figure out ways of low-part techniques because I know that anyone using my designs probably don't have great computers. I'm surprised that my last mega-truck is only 330 parts yet has stock axles and other hydraulic mechanics built in. Especially when this version of KSP has been pretty laggier compared to others.
  18. 766 PARTS? How has your computer not melted?
  19. It took you long enough! Just kidding! Good picks. I'm disappointed the Kelaz didn't make it but it's younger brother already got featured the week before. More new designs need featured like this week. The W900 looks amazing!
  20. What? All the in-game turbofans have thrust reversers. Besides the ant sized ones.
  21. Don't worry anybody. I was just being sarcastic. There's no worries. And yes last weeks SCF was the last to be released.
