  1. Turboshafts. That's how it turns too. Reverse thrust on one side, Forwards thrust on the other side. Independent turning axels lowers the turning rate a ton.
  2. It's a real pain getting trucks caught in your tires... Seriously... Occupational Hazards!
  3. It looks very vintage and very segregated! Take some rep.
  4. Augh... That pool is deeper than it looks. I still have suspension modifications to do with the Kelaz. But Ive already improved the suspension a ton and updated it's forum post with it. The main problem is 85 tons distributed over 4 axels. That means 21 Tons resting on each. So if they all aren't touching the ground that makes one axel with more weight on it than all the others and is more susceptible to breaking.
  5. Thank you Esinohio for your amazing render! I also released a download for version 2 that has a strengthened suspension and strengthened bed. https://www.dropbox.com/s/yb3ttjoi82i976l/Kelaz-85T%20%282%29.craft?dl=0
  6. Parts of course that didn't exist in the game when it was designed
  7. That's exactly why I said I will need to build it again from the ground up. It was built for pre-1.0 aero and is just full of drag. No matter how I've tried modifying it recently I can't get it faster without fundamentally changing it's design or construction.
  8. I really do need to update this. It's just so hard. It's sooooo old. I'm going to do my best making a new plane that resembles it as close as possible.
  9. I miss a lot of 0.90 as well. So much of my heard work was broken. Of course 1.0 has brought many new possibilities too and I am at least bringing back my Mega-Trucks. But I still miss not being able to drive or fly my most noteworthy legendary and nostalgic crafts. My hard-drive with all my KSP backups died so I no longer have my old versions of KSP. I used to have backups all the way from .20
  10. What you did with the headlights is really creative! I haven't seen that before.
  11. Exactly. On top of it the models of most of it's parts have been completely changed like the engines. And the entire substructure is just totally outdated and should never belong in any professional craft these days. It's still ironic though how it is more parts than my current Mega-Truck. I'll be making a new plane inspired by it. But it's just too much of a dinosaur at this point. It is still kind of flyable though if you're really curious.
  12. You think I haven't tried? I've been trying each time KSP is updated. So much with it just doesn't work anymore. If anything it needs an entire re-make. But yeah. Fond memories!
  13. For those of you who are curious the project is now finished. Or at least close enough to release the first official version.
  14. Absolutely! Ive tried this before and hasn't worked out great. The landing gear clips with the fuel tank and glitches out, and looks pretty ugly. The panels are very stable in comparison although having more rolling resistance. But ultimately you don't want this going very fast anyways. 85 Tons is as much as small mun rockets. The stock mechanics of this just can't handle going so fast.
  15. This is the coolest single plane that I ever made in the game. But that was almost a year ago. It no longer functions in the current version of KSP. Go to 3:30 In this video to see awesome shots of it.
  16. This is perfect. Ive been really into American Truck Simulator lately so this is the perfect craft. It's a small truck but it's a classic!
  17. 100% Stock: Kelaz-85T Mega Dump Truck "Thor" (NO MODS REQUIRED!) ALL OF MY CRAFT ARE BROKEN AS OF 1.1 DO NOT DOWNLOAD OR USE UNLESS PLAYING A PRIOR VERSION Undoubtedly one of the largest and heaviest stock land vehicles. I'm here to unveil the latest in the Kelaz series of Mega Dump Trucks. This beast fully fueled weighs in at about 85 tons. Due to it's incredible weight it uses two wheels on each axel to help support itself. Regardless of this each axel is still able to rotate independent from each-other. The rotation of wheels on one side of the truck is not dependant on the rotation of the other side's and vice versa. This gives it an exceptional turning radius. How do you turn it? Just press action groups 1 and 2 to toggle reverse thrusters of the left and right side engines. This combined system the ability to turn even at a near standstill. Such an un-human scale does have it's disadvantages. It's pretty slow having a top unloaded speed on level ground of less than 20 M/S and even if it could go faster it's suspension would eventually break itself apart. It's not a serious sports car or off-roader and if you drive it wrong or dangerously you shouldn't expect for it's mechanics to last for long. The most fun part of course is the massive dumper. To toggle the dumper elevation simply press G to toggle the "Hydraulics" This heavy mechanical dumper has been tested to be capable of carrying and dumping off loads in excess of 100 tons. That's over twice the weight of the vehicle itself! That's enough of a load to carry a small Mun rocket. The vehicle's nickname is inspired from ThorLP who makes some of my favorite ludicrous KSP videos. What are you waiting for? Download and drive this beast! https://kerbalx.com/Jon144/Kelaz-85T https://www.dropbox.com/s/yb3ttjoi82i976l/Kelaz-85T%20%282%29.craft?dl=0 Do keep in mind it is 320 parts too. You will need a fairly decent PC to enjoy this. I will be making a video of it's operations later this week. If you don't think your PC can handle it you can try it's younger brother. The Kelaz 47T Blueprint and Render by Esinohio
  18. Work on the next truck of the Kelaz series is progressing well. It drives really good at this point at only 220ish parts. Now All I have to do is add the dump bucket on the rear. And add more braking systems to make it control easier. Its a lot larger and heavier than the original so I made sure to give it more surface area by having dualie wheel setups on each side. The wheels sported are brand new lower part versions of previous designs. The old wheels were about 17 parts each and these new ones are 13 parts each and have less rolling resistance. It actually is faster than the smaller version. This can cruise at speeds faster than 22 M/S often faster than small regular electric powered rovers. Unfortunately no matter how durable this is treating it like the ultimate off-roader is not the smartest thing to do. Its the weight of several small rockets. Mechanical failures over rough terrain at high speeds are prevalent. But it should be fine on any terrain at speeds under 15 M/S.
  19. I'm making a bigger one. Here is the Kelaz 61T. Has 4 wheels on each axel to better distribute weight, more engines making it faster, larger dump box etc. Download it and test it here! Make sure to leave feedback. https://www.dropbox.com/s/tgyzqa4ojuji68q/Kelaz-61T.craft?dl=0
