The problem with making it stock is it would take tons of small parts to make the micro-rotors to let the track system function. The easiest way to make those micro-rotors would be to use a bunch of cubical octagonal struts. And those break easily so wouldn't be the best for tracks. I see it absolutely possible but would be an unbelievable amount of parts.

Your Recommended Space Program Starter Pack
Jon144 replied to inigma's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
MY STARTER PACK Nothing. New players to KSP should in my opinion keep outside influences at the minimal. Then they can come up with their own brilliant ideas and go through the unique learning curve KSP demands. Download: about:blank -
Only if KSP had the same levels of thrust vectoring as the Raptor has....

It really looks great. I have not seen a replica that accurate before for quite a while. That being said I really am wondering about the actual in-game performance of the craft. Also I think it could use a customized cockpit with an ejector seat. Don't take those criticisms negatively. This is awesome. The sharpened nose cone especially.

Yukon's Plane and Rocket Utilities
Jon144 replied to Yukon0009's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
So many cute and astonishing parts. It is hard to make small objects that are spot on in detail. You really have to know what parts to use to actually make it pass. You made them pass! -
The level of awesomeness here is unparalleled. That rocket is sure a beast.

totm june 2018 Work-in-Progress [WIP] Design Thread

That is a common glitch I have found. If you time-warp the rotor before decoupling it, commonly they clip after being detached after being time-warped or in this case hyper-edited. It is a problem I have observed with most of my designs. I am afraid the solution to your problem might be driving the ship into the water and sailing it to where you want to go manually. Another thing to know about stock bearings is KSP WILL crash if you try to revert or go to space center with a high speed rotating part. Always destroy or shut down rotors before doing such. -

The most major thing to consider in making a stock rotor is to have the proper point of contact between landing gear wheels and the surface that is supposed to rotate. It is temping to make them as compact as possible but landing gear wheels only generate contact at the very bottom of the wheel. If you have the point of contact with the very side of the wheel a proper collision between the two will not be calculated properly and it will not be able rotate. It worst cases it will fall straight out of the bearing. My recommendation is to have the point of contact within 30 degrees or so away from the very bottom of the landing gear. This was the collision between the two will be properly calculated and it will be able to spin. -
It is officially over. They have started packing up the set. And on that bombshell...

What's the stupidest space-related thing you've ever heard someone say?

I already posted that!!! Doesn't mean it still isn't funny though. -
Highly Controversial Are GMOs good or bad?
Jon144 replied to PA Engineering's topic in Science & Spaceflight
It really depends if on what you classify as genetically modified and how. -
My Major problem with electric cars are their terribly inefficent batteries. Most charge we put into batteries is lost via thermal and other forms of energy. Still beats gas cars though. More energy is lost in those mechanical processes than ever could imagine for the batteries in an electric.

It is the simple thing I appreciate. I am impressed not by functionality or micro hinges but instead writing on the side of the rocket!

Radiation shielding is a lie. Nobody can pass through the van alern belts and survive. -

Don't know if anyone posted this yet... But I don't know anything dumber. Is the moon a star or a planet? Planet moon? -
The major problem with the video content is that its a relatively short program but takes an entire two weeks to make. In that time a lot of crafts pile up an I am sure he wants to do his best to feature all of them that are provided. The problem is you cannot do a detailed review when all you have is about 20-30 minutes to go through a dozen high quality crafts with a variety of features. My main suggestion is pick up the speed in which the videos are made and lower the featured number of crafts. So instead of rushing through a dozen crafts every two weeks and trying to do a quality job you could make a video or two every week of the same length but a lower number of crafts. This way there is more time to review and mess around with the crafts, as well as fit in a good joke every here and there. Yet over the course of the two weeks you could still feature the same number of crafts as trying to fit them all into one video. There is my 3 and a half cents. I know majorjim is cool about everything now but he is not the only one around angry at that particular review. People I think are taking it too seriously. I myself see this entire series as a comedy program. I have no idea how anyone could take it that serious as some type of personal attack, especially with all the memes and MLG stuff.

This is kind of depressing to look at now. Jeremy Clarkson has been fired and it is likely the entire Top Gear cast will leave the show with him. I guess for the foreseeable future robins will be remaining upright. At least it really has ended on a bombshell.
