The Latest Evolution of the K-22 Series For KSP version 0.90 Download: https://www.dropbox.com/s/rjguw21gk0lpm1y/K-22H3%20Rapier.craft?dl=0 This new version is leaps and bounds better than the original posted here on the forums. The ejection seat is now twice as powerful. This fixes an issue in the old model where the seat would fail to eject under high g loads. The air-frame has also been completely reworked to be prettier as well as lower part count. The new variant comes with two recoverable external fuel pods under the wings. They offer the plane longer ranges than before. They can be jettisoned before a hypothetical dogfight; sustaining its high maneuverability. The H3 model also comes with 4 stock Ibeam missiles to satisfy those warmongers here on the forums. It is unlikely they can actually do any major damage to anything but anything is better with x-plosions' Enjoy! Action-group keys and functions 1: Toggles engines 2: Fires missiles 3: Fires missiles 4: External Fuel Tanks jettison 5: Anti-spin parachute deployment 6: Anti-spin parachute cut Ejection system action-group keys 8: Jettison canopy 9: Eject pilot 0: Deploy ejection seat parachute Old version: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/105848-K-22-Rapier-6th-Generation-Kerbal-Air-superiority-fighter

I really like the writing on the side of the rocket!

Com'on we can all agree the new aerodynamics will be a welcome change. I personally have never been very angry at having my planes broken by updates. I used to have a space shuttle with a stock working cargo bay door before there were stock cargo bay doors. But since the update came with stock cargo bay doors who couldn't be happy? Even though we lose stuff each update we get even better stuff. That being said I don't think i'm entirely satisfied with 1.0 coming out directly after going into beta. Makes me worry if future features hinted at will be sold separately or ditched completely. I STILL WANT GAS GIANT 2 AND MULTIPLAYER. /rant

Does Majorjim among others not understand humor? I did not understand your post to the fullest but it sounded like you were the one who is bitter. Especially of accusing him of stealing your bearing design. Even if he did why is it prohibited from using other peoples concepts and designs? Without that engineering would not be what it is today. I never felt as if he was being purposefully rude in the videos. That being said I think some of the memes, mlg and jokes were laid on a bit to strong in the first part of the video. Unlike SOMEONE however I am eagerly awaiting the next episode and what jokes might come with. Put as much humor in it as you want. Just don't make it as repetitive. The funny thing is it takes a long time to edit a video but a short time to watch it. I am also kind of disappointed in people saying less tanks. I don't think KSP is all about exploration. I think it is all about engineering. A lot of those tanks take a lot more work to build right than many rockets do. Especially when you throw stock bearings and axels on them. It is true the show currently is tank-overloaded. So while I work on my next one I will submit a plane this time. Starwhip's Renderfarm [Stock Craft Requests Open]

Ooooo Pretty -
I'm disappointing the quiz does not feature anything regarding brilliant contraptions and feats of engineering. I don't think you can measure someones skill in KSP based only on how many planets they have landed on.

Smeggin' awesome. More vtols the better. -
I suggest you do some off-screen testing of my AKV-200 first. Version 3 is less parts but the lights button doesn't work and the wheels break at high speed. It needs some good refining. Version 2 seems more reliable in those aspects but is about 50 parts more. I can't wait It is on its way to being one of the best KSP video series.

Can't believe I never posted this here. Since you guys like your guns I should show this off for those who have not yet. It is all stock, has stock wheels and axles as well as a 360 degree rotating turret. It is powered by jet thrust. It is a far bigger tank than what most of you are used to. (Excluding Zekes) Part count is just over 600 Read more and download here: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/112061-WIP-AKV-200-Missile-Tank

I don't understand all the hate for Nimoy now and for some reason Armstrong as well now. What do you want to do? Have squad tear down Armstrong's memorial? You all seem so selfish. Although some people deserve more credit than others that doesn't mean they don't deserve any credit at all. Not to mention more memorials means more places to go to in-game and explore. The more Easter-egg hunting the better.

The only weakness with this turret attachment is a lack of much control over missile elevation. For the P1000 i imagine an axel with sas mounted on the turret bearing could be used to do so.

And the ability to make guns the size of the VAB itself. -
Going to try dropping it from altitude to see its max fall height. In some ways i like the 7 more than the 8. It seems like this one can turn sharper at higher speeds and i like the overall shape more. For the 9 I think you should try combinding these last two. The shape of the 7 and a shorter and stronger frame to absorb stronger impacts.

All you saying that there should not be a memorial for him because he didn't make "meaningful contributions to space exploration" all offend me quite deeply. The entirety of Star Trek had a huge impact on real life space exploration. The younger audiences of the show were inspired to pursue science and space exploration. Even NASA decided to name the space shuttle test craft "Enterprise" to commemorate the shows contributions. For that reason I think an entire star trek memorial should be made. Since sadly, many other of the meaningful people involved in that show are dead or close to. Just because these actors didn't actually have a direct impact on space exploration they inspired others to do so. "To be recognizable for space exploration you have to be an astronaut" Dumbest reason for someone not being able to have a memorial or be recognized. The astronauts often are the lucky ones who make little contributions to space exploration. Its the engineers, ground control operators than actually make the missions happen. Without them the astronauts wouldn't be able to do much. People who never went to space yet had huge contributions to rocket and space technology like Goddard and Von Braun and other engineers should not be recognized cauz dey nevr wnt 2 spac.

[STOCK HELICOPTER] KH-7 Electrocopter
Jon144 replied to Jon144's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
KSP helicopters made on the same principle suffer similar problems. I tested the concept one and many times the rotors are just completely destroyed by the stress. -

I wouldn't exactly call it stupid. Although it makes more sense in real life. KSP is obviously VERY far from real life. The really neat turboshaft idea doesn't exactly hold up in some areas. For one... they are sure not EPA friendly. They produce a ton of smoke. Also by connecting the engines directly to the blades less energy is lost as all of the trust is put into spinning the blades. This makes them more fuel efficient. For a number of reasons putting jets directly on blades makes a lot more sense in real life too. By having the thrust directly spin the blades less energy is lost to the other mechanical processes. We simply just don't have the technology for that though. Electric powered rotors seem like a really good idea to me since you don't have to deal with smoke and have a near infinite source of fuel. -

It sure was. And back before there were a lot of the new parts and features in KSP today. That is what really makes it amazing. That being said that original is very outdated compared to our new ones. -
Updated. Version 2 download link added.
-
Awesome job there! Two rotors is better than one. I tried my own version of the Chinook to replace my Skywhale helicopter but the engines simply don't have enough power to get it very far off the ground. Maybe I should give you the craft file and you can try adding Jaks and your engines?

AKV-200 Missile Tank Update It has new more durable axles and wheels at the cost of them not being SAS powered. The Tank now relies on Jet thrust. It has better and prettier armor as well. The Turret is more durable too. Small part count reduction http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/112061-WIP-AKV-200-Missile-Tank Added new wheels not visible in the picture.

This is 100% stock I was fairly angry when my Mega-Truck was attacked with no means to defend itself. In these hard times giant trucks should have the right to self defense. So I have made something new. Download the WIP version here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/t22yno02mfs345m/AKV-200%20Missile%20Tank.craft?dl=0 It basically is controlled the same way as the old mega-truck. To read more about the "Old Mega Truck" http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/109311-Jon-s-Mega-Truck-Mountain-Climber The firing system is pretty simple. Just aim the turret at the target and shoot. Hot-keys 1-4 fire each of the 4 missiles individually. Enjoy
