  1. It is true. I believe profanity, racism, random hatred etc. being deleted is very rightful moderation. Deleting things simply based on if the moderator dislikes the idea being presented is censorship. I don't really quite think it is right to judge other people's thoughts and opinions but the simple truth is this is squad's forums so it is also squad's rules. The direction Sal and everyone else is trying to follow is just to keep things reasonable. I really do appreciate this. I suppose the easiest way to keep away from "censorship" here is simply not to encourage it anyways. As in... don't draw so much attention. Stay reasonable. The only time I ever had a problem with the moderation is someone thought one of my entirely stock crafts actually used mods and tried to change the prefix. In the end everything turned out alright though. The moderation here is a lot better than elsewhere.
  2. Nobody likes too much moderation. But none at all is even worse. There always has to be the perfect balance. Just stay reasonable.
  3. Need an atmospheric bomber? http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/125741-B-52-Stratofortress
  4. I'll be sure to set my TiVo.
  5. Another awesome ship! Not really a fan of that particular series though... Would of rather had SGA seasons 6 and 7...
  6. Presenting... The B-52 Stratofortress! A 100% Stock Lookalike of the Boeing B-52 Stratofortress bomber. Still a work in progress. I will keep updating it over time and make it compatible for future versions of KSP. NOTICE: CLUSTER BOMBS FOR BOMB CARRYING VERSIONS NO LONGER FUNCTIONING IN 1.0.3 HEATING SYSTEM Unloaded... This B-52 replica weighs in above 100 tons and slightly over 300 parts. This replica is near fully functioning. It includes working landing gear bays for the B-52's Quad landing gear setup, a massive bomb bay and even a landing parachute! Of course this plane would not be complete without a completely mind-boggling offensive armament. This B-52 is capable of carrying a total of 26 cluster bombs each containing 6 large I-beams, making a total of 156 I-beams. This is capable with the assistance of additional stores on external pylons. Versions using external mounted stores unfortunately reach the maximum of what this bird can carry, sharply affecting climb and turning capabilities. I really know some people will be upset with this plane due to it's war mongering nature. Fortunately this plane can also assist the space program in other ways. The plane has been tested to be capable of carrying experimental SSTOs to altitude as well as drones. (Some images are credited to Flying Beaver, some pictures feature outdated versions of the aircraft) Downloads Unarmed B-52: https://www.dropbox.com/s/995ad74dxmlmesv/B-52%20Stratofortress%20%28Unarmed%29.craft?dl=0 B-52 with x18 I-beam Cluster-Bombs: https://www.dropbox.com/s/gsahkqnd77yvpz1/B-52%20Stratofortress%20%28x18%20Cluster%20Bombs%29.craft?dl=0 (HEAVY) B-52 with x26 I-beam Cluster-Bombs: https://www.dropbox.com/s/t3ybekadblkmfal/B-52%20Stratofortress%20%28Heavy%29.craft?dl=0 Directions Although this thing is not the easiest to fly... It is simple to operate nonetheless. After taking off like any conventional aircraft press G to retract the landing gear then a few seconds later press 2 to close the landing gear bays. Before dropping bombs press 3 to open the bomb bay doors. Simply press space-bar to drop relentless salvos of stock cluster bombs. Be careful not to stage so far as to stage the plane's landing parachute. Upon landing press 0 or stage all the way through the craft to open the landing parachute to help slow the bird down.
  7. Yeah... I hate to say this but there is a point you can actually build something too huge. But that is squad's fault. On a positive note that is a really creative way of mimicking the real plane's engines.
  8. Thanks for all of your input here. Ive done some minor tweaking to get the tail to look more authentic without sacrificing too many parts. This will probably be what the release version will look like. P.S. That thing of yours is huge!
  9. Trust me, I have been working very hard. And this is beyond joint reinforcement. Its keeping things not directly connected rigid. Ibeam girders, etc. Mostly stemming from my landing gear system that incorporates their own landing gear bays. You cant simply joint connect them as you would normally. I'm still working on getting it simpler. I was able to lower the part count enough to make the fuselage longer without sacrificing rigidity either. There might also be a problem with the camera angle.
  10. No... To keep it all in one piece is has a ton of bracing, struts, girders etc. inside. By making it longer it gets floppier which takes even more structural parts to correct. You can have it just a tiny bit longer and have hilarious floppy-plane or a fully functioning plane that's part count comes from the massive amount of bombs it carries or the needless heaps of structural bracing needed to keep the tail together.
  11. Exactly. I have a longer version but it poops out of FPS. An authentic lookalike here is much better than a complete replica.
  12. YES! YES! YES! I love Stargate and I love your designs and replicas. You sir are not a false god.
  13. The maelstrom is the tank I had tested it against most in it's development. Fully capable of decimating a maelstrom. Still mine is only more of a medium tank and isn't expected to have amazing longevity.
  14. I really hope one of the next episodes will have ground forces showcased. My tanks really need blood. And if any of your kerbals needs a form of high tech land transportation you should check out my Uni-wheel (A crude replica of the grievous unicycle from star wars) Both links are in my sig.
  15. It is built as simply as the stock crafts but looks as good as planes with twice the amount of parts. Good work!
  16. And it goes without saying.... It has rockets too! I wish KSP's high part count performance was increased... Then my KSP skyscraper program could quite literally take off.
  17. Yeah, but it is a lot more hazardous. If you have enough skill though you can take them off.
  18. I know first hand that snail racing can be pretty intense. Some contestants might die of old age before getting to the finish line. It can be quite brutal.
  19. The blood of the filthy peasants responsible for it's construction. Despite the human rights violations it still looks amazing!
  20. I have been watching your videos since your first compilation of random clips episodes. The quality of your work is only improving. I really liked how destruction FX made it look like their ammo magazines were exploding. Unrelated: Since I know you like star wars have you seen my semi decent attempt at making general grievous' unicycle?
  21. Reminds me of the old shuttle concept. Just a giant space capsule that works as an SSTO. The one at the top left.
  22. That was exactly my motivation for it! I kind of wimped out in the development though to make it smaller and simpler for stunts.
  23. These are some really impressive planes! Keep up the good work. Those pictures are excellent themselves. You really seem to have a lot of potential here! I am very sure that Jeb would give three thumbs up if more boosters were applied. Or had thumbs in the first place...
