  1. I'm baaaack! I got new ships to field, too. They're just not ready for the spotlight yet.
  2. Perhaps some engineering-related vids (breakdowns on each ship somewhat more in-depth), or backstory/lore vids that flesh out the KS universe a bit more...
  3. After a long, long hiatus (for me, at least), I've returned to KSP. One thing I've started tinkering with was a micro-SSTO inspired by classic 50's-styled sci-fi rockets and spaceplanes. I really need to start turning my WIPs into finished craft.
  4. I'm almost ready with my next set of stuff to submit- KSP just needs to stop lagging so much (I'm running AVP and EVE, so the RAM I use is higher than most).
  5. Flew my new Ranger replica around on Laythe, after mistakenly re-entering over the side of the planet with no large islands.
  6. Thanks! I'll admit, I now know why the Rangers in the movie were launched via rocket from Earth: surface to LKO fuel margins are uber-tight! However, I also just tested it on Laythe... It's most definitely overpowered for Laythe, since I easily broke the Mach wall at low altitude with level flight (at full throttle). I'll likely have a release for it soon, sooner if I get lazy and don't finish an Endurance and pair of Landers first.
  7. Some very overbuilt rigid-hull sci-fi ships, some overbuilt rovers and bases, and most definitely a series of O'Neill Cylinder habitats at the Kerbin equivalent of L2. That, and Installation 04 from Halo.
  8. Ranger replica from Interstellar: I got it as close as I could in terms of scaling it to Kerbal-size using stock parts. No VTOL capability though, due to aero limitations and issues with SSTOing becoming nearly impossible with VTOL engine(s) installed. It does have STOL capability though, and turns on a dime.
  9. Agreed! (I'm no "saint" with clipping myself, heheh.)
  10. While I do understand that some have an aversion to military crafts (stock or modded) in KSP, others (like myself) do make them from time to time. (I personally like the engineering challenges associated with making a tough, survivable stock warship that can look good as well.) To help OP out, here's some links to forum threads that might help: Naval Battle Club: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/90278-Naval-Battle-Club KIDI (Spacecraft Exchange showcase for miltech): http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/25376-Showcase-KIDI-Kerbal-Interplanetary-Defence-Initiative I also invite them to try reverse-engineering some of my military ships, if they wish. (Link in my sig.)
  11. That's quite the looker of a transfer setup there, MRS. I hate to spam, but: Now I just need to make the Endurance and figure out a way to make one of those gosh-darned Landers without making a 1000+ part fleet.
  12. Built a stock, Kerbal-scale Ranger: and installed EVE, Planetshine, Astronomer's Visual Pack, and a couple other awesome visual mods.
  13. This is why it was a bad wonderful idea to buy Interstellar on Blu-Ray... It can make orbit (with how much oxidizer, I don't know, still refining flight profiles), and easily reached 1300 m/s+ around 15-16,000 meters up.
  14. "Rage, rage against the dying of the light..." Just need to fine-tune the ascent profile (and maybe tweak the oxidizer levels a tad bit). I also think that a rocket adapter (two on top of an SLS/Saturn V-esque rocket) might be in order as well, to allow for taking some to Laythe...
  15. This is absolutely spectacular! Have some rep there sir. I'm assuming the 2 basic jets provide all the VTOL thrust... or is there more (clipped or hidden) engines for VTOL flight? Just curious, as I build a lot of larger VTOLs myself.
  16. Just got EVE and Astronomer's Visual Pack: Interstellar V2 working... Why didn't I do this sooner?
  17. Sorry to hear, hope you can recover the file. (Protip: Windows does do automatic "snapshot" backups from time to time, so look there.)
  18. I'll have to see about military variants of some of my new craft I've made during the wait (I've got a new set of cargo dropships that might be able to deploy tanks! ), and I will most definitely take a look at trying to either upgrade the fuel/propulsion systems for the Helios and Albion, or (in the case of the Albion) potentially make a worthy successor with better range and fighter capacity.
  19. The biggest issues so far are part count and weight distribution, as the stock wheels (I play stock) aren't really meant for this sort of stuff. I'll likely have the large mother-rover carry at least one of these: Which is heavily based off of this: I'll likely have my vehicle(s) done by tomorrow, so stay tuned for my attempt! P.S.: The smaller rover has room inside:
  20. Someone really ought to convince whoever owns the partially complete one- (Burya?) to let it either get restored or used to make a proper commercially-owned large shuttle. Think of the possibilities that open up if a private spaceflight company flew shuttles like Buran...
  21. I'll have to keep that in mind... I'm thinking of making a design similar to this concept, from the game Hardware: Shipbreakers: A large "mother" rover with an onboard garage and crew quarters (with a 4x4 or two stored in there), and ultra-heavy-duty suspension.
