Me too. Balancing science, budgets, and facility & equipment breakages / upgrades is my full time job I only play sandbox. To the guys whose games are crashing... FWIW my game is stable again after uninstalling Kerbal Joint Reinf. and EVE. Anyways... I built up Koddard station and flew my Dream Katcher there - I changed a couple graphical mods in between btw. [ Since reaching the runway is hard... I built my plane to splashdown

For some reason it reminds me of the internet in the 90s, on AOL and Netscape. and this noise. I will never forget this noise. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gsNaR6FRuO0

My most recent played list in no particular order: Rainbow Six Siege Take on Mars Insurgency Chivalry Medieval Warfare GTA V
-
Take on Mars is an Early Access game (since 2013 or so) which lets you do simulated scientific exploration with rovers. I only found out a couple weeks ago that the devs added humans and base building to it! I thought I'd share a snippet of what I've done. Anyone else play this?

Does Orion constellation is visible in JANUARY :D

Must be a northern problem. I see Orion all year long. -
Root access to the Matrix

The articles aren't too informative. Wikipedia is actually way more educational about this topic. My read of it is that for a couple years now Russia has been "renationalizing" its space sector by effectively merging NPO Energomash and Energia into the new United Rocket and Space Corp (URSC). URSC is now merging with Roscosmos federal agency to create the Roscosmos State Corporation. I assume this lets Moscow have more direct control over the workings of its space sector. I doubt anything will change immediately on the ground except logos and stationary designs.

IMO NASA will keep ULA alive no matter what to preserve a backup option to SpaceX and Orbital ATK. Having that option paid off for ISS resupply after both Antares and Falcon 9 failed, in addition to the Progress from Russia. If nothing else Congress will keep ULA alive because someone's constituents stand to benefit from it.

My RO-RSS moon rocket. 2,226 tonnes on the pad, 120 tonnes to LEO. (textures changed, same rocket)

The Krotheans left their junk everywhere and disappeared... Then along came the Kerbals.
-
Decided to get back into Realism Overhaul and began putting a station together. This is what I saw on approach to dock! If you look carefully, the moon is near the flare in the upper left. http://i.imgur.com/8wJcsEW.png

What, if any, are the advantages of using monopropellant as the main orbital maneuvering fuel rather than fuel / oxidizer? It seems to me that no monopropellant system in KSP provides anything close to the power or efficiency of a fuel/ox system.

Just getting back into KSP after a few months away. I tested a prototype of a 4-5 kerbal lander I'd like to put on Duna someday, just took it to Minmus and back to see how it holds up to high speed reentry. Needs farkles like ladders, retractable solar panels, and an ISRU plant eventually. Looks like a flying pig! http://imgur.com/a/JpLct

this made me wonder... is there a parachute for kerbals mod?
-
Didn't stick the moon landing. But I finally got my first Kerbals landed off-planet in RSS so I'll take it. Time for a rescue mission.
-
gardumated a long tiem ago... no ragrets.

Tested out my Big Gemini craft... with a full crew complement. http://imgur.com/a/UCNiF

Yeah, this is the way to go if you have power generation problems. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peak_of_eternal_light I've tried to plant a module at the south pole of the moon in RSS, but overshot the landing. Still, I'm watching it over time to see how much light it gets over the course of an earth year.

Realistic Solar System Crafts - MEGATHREAD

Starting to get a hang of rocket building in RO, at least for LEO. My latest accomplishments: the Olga Heavy lifter and Space Station One! http://imgur.com/a/Cj2BN -
Realistic Solar System Crafts - MEGATHREAD

Maaan that was epic! -
I don't see anyone arguing that they're better for having RSS/RO. I don't see a pro/con debate, just discussing why we like one flavor or another. Personally, after 2 years of vanilla KSP there's not much left to do, even with game updates. It's nice to have new challenges, I enjoy the new demands on rocket designs and seeing the visual aesthetics of orbiting an expansive planet. As you say, to each their own.

Y'all need to use CKAN. Filter for "realism" and it installs realism overhaul dependencies (of which RSS is one), and offers all the other recommended mods and optional stuff too. Then it downloads and unpacks it to Gamedata, no hassle - start with a *clean* install though. And get the Kerbal joint reinforcement dev fix for docking ports after that. Anyways I LOVE the overhaul. I also only get maybe 1 hour to play each day, so I can take a few days just to get a vehicle to work the way I want but when it works it's beautiful and the accomplishment of reaching orbit is that much more satisfying.

Jeb was piloting a prototype command service module to orbit (RSS) but the launcher failed to reach orbit. Jeb aborted but the fall back to earth was too steep and he was crushed by excessive G-force. He's being downloaded now...

RSS has opened my eyes to new problems I hadn't considered. For instance, how do I get my first Remote tech satellite to GEO from Cape Canaveral (or other starting inclined orbit), and positioned over the longitude I want? My poor brain... I haven't even left LEO yet.
