  1. This classic British comedian came up at work today, and now his theme song is stuck in my head. Which is not a bad thing... It seems to go with everything...
  2. No really, it'll be early next year. As in 2018. They just got which year wrong /sarcasm
  3. Gah! For some reason I now have "Hello" by Adele stuck in my head. Initiating evasive action!
  4. That's cool. Tell him to post one of these sometime, if he hasn't already (de Havilland DHC-2 Beaver, the workhorse bush plane of the North) if he hasn't already.
  5. PVR is set, I'll be able to watch it tomorrow after work
  6. About the only real value in recovering (not de-orbiting) stages in space is to refill (near term) or recycle (long term). Bringing them back down the well would be prohibitively difficult and expensive, to the point of being pointless. Anything already in orbit has the sunk value of already being up the hill and halfway to anywhere.
  7. I've had a few like that. Looks like an unplanned colonization is in the cards.
  8. Leo Moracchioli fixed that for you.... A friend told me to check this guy's videos out. Proof that everything goes better with metal. And his facial expressions are hilarious. The posted playlist is a fraction of what appears to be 180+ metallicized covers, from old (Hey Jude, Stayin Alive, Beat it etc.) to new (All about that Bass, Gangnam Style, Let it Go etc). Everything I've listened to so far is better than the original. I'm going through them too fast for anything to get stuck in my head, however.
  9. Awesome job. A little Googling tells me the only chopper squadron on V.I. is 443 Squadron in Victoria. I was in Air Cadets at CFB Comox back in the late 80's/. Those Sea King photos kinda threw me (at first I thought 440 was a Comox squadron until I refreshed my memory), since neither of those squadrons are even based in BC. When you are finally qualified to fly one of those eggbeaters, tell them you want a couple of Hammers (not the kind you hit nails with) mounted on it for emergency power. Or maybe a couple of Thuds. And you have to keep an eye on those ground crew guys. I think Jeb may have been driving this one. Hopefully you won't be posted on this boat...
  10. Of course, for a whole bunch of neato stuff, just do a Google Image Search for "sidewalk art illusions'
  11. 32,000 Isp sounds fantastic, but how much radioactive exhaust products (and how long lived) is that going to leave behind it?
  12. These pics are just .... wicked! A page of 'Cirds' (cat-birds) An example: What else have you folks found?
  13. *salute* F :hailprobe: So long, and thanks for the hope that there's fish
  14. The primary reason for cancelling propulsive landings, as I understand it, was dealing with the planetary masses of paperwork to certify that having landing legs extend out the heat shield is safe and will only fail safe. They would rather focus that effort on other things.
  15. All I can say is "Yikes, glad I'm not there. Good luck guys and gals, and stay safe!"
  16. Congrats to SpaceX on another successful launch and recovery!!
