The coolest thing I ever made in KSP was my 1st ever properly flying aeroplane, Aeroplane Mk.1 Also happens to be my most aesthetically successful craft. ...which I instantly converted into an air hogging SSTO that can do a Minmus round trip, Spaceplane Mk.1:

I regularly & unintentionally blow the launchpad up when launching heavy rockets.

Can't say I do either, probably something generic with insane amounts of monoprop. I do on the other hand remember my 1st successful Laythe landing! 8-] The 1st thing I launched probably did look similar to this.
