Since wheels are borked in 1.1.3, I designed an alternate method of Munar transportation, the Personal Backpack And Jetpack (PB&J): This version doesn't have good range, but Mun 4 should be bringing a better one.
-
I would still say it's easier on a word processor, because you can just choose to write curved text, and then you can customize it in a multitude of ways, and even edit it afterwards.

I decided to sit down and design a legit SSTO spaceplane, and this is what I came up with: Taking off on jet power Circularizing Overall view. Any ideas for a name?

I've killed kerbals by bouncing them across the surface of the Mun to save RCS fuel. I'm a horrible person.

Mine is Miss Noriko Takaya from Gunbuster, standing in a crowd looking awfully alert.

I like flying planes the most. The more maneuverable, the better. However, they've been distracting me from the rocket side of KSP, so I'm temporarily shunning them at the moment. Apart from planes, I also like doing landings, Mun style.

GIMP is a great tool for making badges. However, if you want curved text, I've found that a word processor like LibreOffice Writer does the job nicely. In fact, as far as I know, GIMP can't make curved text at all. Just a tip I'd figure I'd share. I've made a couple of circular badges, and I always prefer text that frames it nicely.

I did the my first legit Mun mission in a while. I even managed to get a rover down on this one. Unfortunately, something's fishy with the command seat, and it won't let me have my kerbal back. Good thing I brought a spare.

I always thought Eeloo was more of a Europa analogue than a Pluto analogue. Isn't it too big anyway?

adding multiplayer
MDZhB replied to wolf creates16's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
I think the focus would be on a small group all flying the same mission at once. It could be, say, a Mun mission where you want to put down two or three landers next to each other all at once. Or, an interplanetary mission where you have one person visit moon A and another visit moon B. So, mostly for collaboration rather than independent playing in the same world. That might as well be single player if no one is interacting anyway.- 367 replies

I don't like asteroids, because how the heck are you supposed to get to them? I guess you have to be some kind of math goddess to figure it all out. Plus, what are they good for? I guess they can be used like giant, inefficient fuel tanks, but why not just launch real giant fuel tanks?

Hi! Its awesome that you came to join us! You'll be visiting every planet in one launch with your eyes closed before you know it. As for your parachute, you could try falling without it for a while, then deploy it once the air has slowed you down enough. That should keep it from getting messed up. Good luck!

adding multiplayer
MDZhB replied to wolf creates16's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Who says multiplayer needs to involve more than three or so players? I could definitely see how beneficial it would be to have a few people (like two or three) collaborate together to create something. Just think of the possibilities in EVA! In fact, you could do away with the whole server idea altogether, and simply have direct connections which only support two or three players. That way, small groups can focus on individual projects, and can collaborate on warping. Plus, unless you had a jerk of friend you were playing with, you wouldn't need to worry about griefing either.- 367 replies

Nobody get any stupid ideas, 'kay?

Glad to hear that the console version wasn't the big fireball (in a bad way) that a lot of people said it would be. If I had a console, I would definitely have it. Sidenote: I play on a laptop, so I get to have the couch and the WASD mousey goodness.

What is the biggest mission failure you have ever had?
MDZhB replied to JacobJHC's topic in KSP1 Discussion
On a Mun mission back in 0.24 or so, I EVAd my only Kerbal, just to fly around in space a bit. I zoomed around a bit, but when it came time to get back in, I found that I couldn't. The hatch on the capsule was pointing down, so I couldn't get the guy to grab it and get in. There was no probe core on the main ship, so I couldn't move it, but the SAS was still active, so I couldn't push it. He ended up running out of fuel and floating around the Mun forever more. -
8/10 because you make stuff, but I don't get the sideways bar graph.
-
8/10 nice, but some people's fears are totally unfounded, and they would realize that eventually, and escape. Otherwise, pretty dang evil. Let's just kill off half the worlds population with an asteroid impact, melting Antarctica. We'll then leave the other half (particularly the newly orphaned and abandoned children) to wallow in their sorrow and trauma for the next 15 years. Finally, we'll kill them all too with a series of powerful alien giants, despite their attempts to rebuild and fight back. Nothing could go wrong.
-
I tried doing helicopters. Nope, never again. They're just way too finicky for my not-so-deft fingers.
-
Who needs duct tape when you can just have a duck? Or a communist?
