What's the first thing you got into orbit in 1.0?

The first thing I put into orbit was a small probe destined for Eve.

I wanted to see how ISP was implemented the new aero for pressures above one atmosphere.

The fairing, which I thought might protect the probe, was the first thing to be destroyed during aerocapture.

During final aerobraking and descent I lost a couple of batteries and a couple of solar panel, but that was it.

This was all done for science! The ISP does indeed continue to drop as pressures increase above one atmosphere.

The Terrier hit zero ISP when it got down to about 3000 m on Eve.

I love the new aerodynamics. And three cheers for the ISP nerfs!!!

...Why are you looking at me that way? New aero is new for me, I don't want to kill Kerbals(especially Val) in my first attempt. I did have Jeb fly a plane later on, though. And I find the new aero much better for flying around.

First thing for me was just a simple little 0.625m stack, upper stage with a service bay, plus lower stage with boosters and those smexy new bent nosecones.

Got my first 1.0 SSTO spaceplane into orbit, took me a while to learn not to make sudden moves that break the wings off:

Had enough fuel left over to deorbit and land safely (though not at KSC).

The 1.0 version of "the pencil" ship I made to reach orbit cheaply. It's just every SRB in a stack, with a small LFO engine at the top to finish it off. It's the ship that I totally failed to kill Jeb OR Val with.

Early career mode with only 3 techs unlocked. Though it took me 10 tries at the time due to piloting error, I can now get it to orbit every time despite its thin and fin-less physique.
