Thanks, that looks like a nice deltav saving tool, so far had problems following the dv maps if the places were too far away

Not extremely good pic, but that ion probe is the result of five hours of waiting, warping, mathing, and avoiding collisions. Could be better, since a correction burn was 2500m/s

Now that I have KSP, I'm going to send full stock missions to Dres, whether or not they'll be manned is tricky, I can dock, but I'm not sure if I can get to Dres, I can try.

Goals:

10 orbiters, Science equipped of course

Several Unmanned lander's

A rover or 2

And a possible Manned base.

I'll get to it once I have a base on the Mun

I love this idea! My goal is to land on Des and make a colony. Not so sure how to do it yet though.

Dres was my third interplanetary mission. I got screenshots from 1.0.5. landing.

So I plan to:

• Make a few Dres space stations either refueling or habitation
• Capture some Dresteroids and build bases on those or mine them
• Make some bases on Dres itself either mining or habitation (Especially one in the Dres Canyon)
• Send Kerbals there and back with a few interplanetary star ships
• A satellite network around Dres
• A bunch of Dres rovers.

Got a scanning probe in polar orbit around Dres. Going to send a rover next mission and after that capture a Dresteroid. This is the best long term mission ever!!!

Ok first 4 missions.

I didn't take screenies of the first mission or the Rover mission. I also didn't show the Interface until I was landing the lander on Dres. But hopefully this counts.

I took a scanning probe to Dres first. Then I took a rover, two kerbals and a Dresteroid grabber at the same time. For this mission, I used only KER and stock parts. I don't even have hyperedit installed.

My first attempt at landing the lander failed and after the second one which was successful, Billy-Bobsen tumbled down the hill and hit a landing leg at full force destroying him and the landing leg. I then discovered that the last quicksave I took was 500m from the surface and had to land all over again. While I was driving the rover to meet with the lander, I lost a couple of parts but this made the rover easier to drive so no quickload required. The asteroid capture was a piece of cake. I had to move into a higher orbit and timewarp a bit to catch up with it but that's normal. I had 2,500 m/s before grabbing it. Then after grabbing it I had 500. But it took only 75m/s to move into a lower orbit so that's alright.

Next I got to bring a space station core, an asteroid mining module and the first part of a surface base.

Dres is under-appreciated. People forget that it may be a dwarf planet but it is still a celestial body! Besides I think of it as a planet, not a dwarf planet.

 

Dres is just as great as all the other planets and moons in KSP!

How big is your computer???

I came here to post about my future Dres mission, but it pales in comparison to yours...

Anyway, for my mission report at one point I will go to Dres. The window for Dres is the last one to come up, unfortunately, but I will go to Dres. Right after I optimize the Intrepid for Dresteroid collection. (50 launches later, still exploding). I'm still looking for a way to make it awesome, though. Wait a second... now I have an idea!
