I'm sure most of you that have read this so far already will realize this, but when I say this next idea is really evil, I'm not talking about hardcore horror kind of evil..

I'm talking Dr. Evil kind of evil.....  hehehehe.

Oh, I love the Alan Parsons Project!!!  Tales of Mystery and Imagination is one of my top 3 favorite albums of all time!!!

But this latest last idea I had comes not from Mr. Parsons... No, this little gem comes from H.P. Lovecraft himself.  I'm not giving away which story of his, because it may give away what direction I'm about to go in....  Just know that Lovecraft was my inspiration... and be afraid.... be very afraid....  :0.0:

Chapter 28
Plans Within Plans

Soon all the KASA department heads were gathered in the central conference room, and briefed on the situation. Around the table everyone wore a look of disbelief and disappointment, but no-one dared say anything against Gene. Inside, they all knew Gene would beat himself up more than sufficiently.

The big issue, obviously, was how to proceed from here. Besides just designing a nearly impossible ship, a huge amount of infrastructure would need to be put into place. Refueling stations would be required, at least around Jool, and if possible, bases established on the other planets and moons to help with any repairs needed.

Dr. von Kerman spoke up first, "I believe the first step would be to continue to send out probes and landers to the remaining unexplored bodies. The field test of our new Explorer series drones on Minmus and the Mun have been very promising, and I believe they will prove more than adequate."

"Once we have accumulated more data from the probes, we will be able to begin designing our ship," von Kerman continued, "For now, I suggest we focus our efforts on securing contracts for new stations around Duna, Eve, and Jool, along with base contracts, if possible. We're going to need all the help and support we can get, and I'm confident we'll be able to bring in several of the major corporations, if they are approached right."

Gene, silent up to now, raised his head, "Make it so."

Meanwhile, out on the runway, Parka B. Kerman was boarding his private jet to return to Rokea headquarters.

Once the jet was moving down the runway, Parka reached over to his radio and switched it to a secure wavelength.

"I am pleased to report they have taken the bait, just as you predicted." Parka grinned.
Several seconds later a quiet voice answered over the intercom, "Outstanding. Our next step will require a great amount of cunning and finesse. Listen carefully..."

Just then the pilot pushed the jet's engines to full throttle, and it lifted gently into the sky...

And the sound of maniacal laughter filled the cabin...

It appears all the bad things are happening to Gene Kermans in many stories... I feel that Parka Kerman is Darth Vader, and the voice in the intercom is the Emperor...

No... although the analogy isn't bad.
I actually borrowed the term "Excellency" from when Capt. Terrell called up to the USS Reliant in "Wrath of Khan".

And no... it isn't Khan Noonien Singh either...

I knew it! Gene, don't trust that Parka guy--he'll kill you and make it look like suicide!

That is just about perfect....
But "Kuz" Kerman won't be appearing for a few more chapters....
And it's best not too mention his name to loudly in public, if you know what's good for you...

Maybe it's who a certain Thompberry was working for?.....

While I cannot confirm or deny that Thompberry and Parka may have had some sort of... association... the simple fact is Thompberry worked for no one but Thompberry.

*Sigh*

Yes, such it is with psychotic-megalomania-narcissism inflicted people........I'd build him a really nice space habitat......on a class E asteroid purposely positioned in orbit around Eeloo.

You really show to much mercy ... I'd leave him on a class A, Inside a Mk1 Lander Can, without a spacesuit, on a Kerbol escape trajectory, with an engine and no fuel, just out of spite... I'm not evil, right?

Well, we may need a Eeloo base....and he can't live forever... ;)
Besides if he's that far away he can't cause any more trouble.....and it would be in his best interest to keep the base in good working order.

Either way you look at it, KSC wins. :)
