That was an incredible cinematic and the music worked so perfectly with it.  Particularly enjoyed 1.33 with the mountains in the background, and then after the flag plant and going down the side of the mountains is epic!

Superb video, you must put heaps of time into these things.  Can you tell me which purely visual mods you are using.  I think scatterer is in there somewhere?

Thanks man! :) I use Scatter and Planetshine for prettiness, the footage also gets a quick grade after the edit. Hope this helps!

Mind if you teach me how you fly so good? Unless of course the final cut was made from 30 failed attempts but in all your video's I've seen you've nearly scraped the surface :D

Not 30 but took a few takes to get right I'm not gonna pretend otherwise! For better VTOL skills though I prescribe Psygnosis Lander. :)

As well as the usual VTOLing you've also got to fly through caves, battle enemies, avoid mines and haul loot back to the surface! It makes VTOLing in KSP look pretty easy by comparison! :wink: Unfortunately the company that made this game has gone bust so you might have to resort to more... er... creative means to aquire a copy. :blush:

Man, I miss Psygnosis, they were one of the great companies of my youth.  Always had wonderful box art.  And I admit that The Lemmings managed to draw me out for years before I managed to beat it.

It's such a shame they're gone. The fact that I'll never get to play Lander 2 pains me. ;.;

Yes, that. Cupcake never ceases to amaze me. Plus the amazing flying skills too. Grab a Mork, take it to the mountains somewhere, and try to reproduce some of Cupcakes flying... it really is not as easy as it looks.

Personally I feel my flying skills improved a lot over the last couple months, ever since I took up the Cupcake way of playing KSP. But then he releases a new video, maybe featuring some fancy docking or something, I go and try to reproduce it and it puts me right back in my place.

And then of course the designs in itself. I said it before, if I hadn't met Cupcake and his creations on here I am sure I would have lost interest in KSP by now. He and his designs taught me a lot about this game and made it really really fun for me. Stock dropships all the way!

NOTES:

The athmo edition can be a bit tricky to land on steep terrain, it's recomended to practice on flat ground or water before attempting more difficult landings!

The exhaust jets on the utility edition are a razors width away from the standard cargo size so the engine gimbals are disabled by default to avoid leaving scorch marks, they can be enabled again by pressing 0.

While droptanks can be attached straight to the bottom docking port on the utlity edition it's recommended to run fuel lines to avoid the Morks internal stores being emptied, to this end the fuel transfer on the cargo port is disabled by default.

 

For all those out there that thought the Gnat was a bit on the big side allow me to present the Mork!

Powered by a single Juno engine (with rocket assist of course), the Mork combines supple handling with a highly balanced drag profile.

RCS edition included at no extra cost! :)

Finnaly we have the utility edition is designed for soft landing small ISRU rigs/cargo etc... It puts out more Delta V then the RCS edition (3.3k vs 3k ) and more importantly weighs in a whole 2t less making it more practical to ship to the Jool system.

Sorry for the delay. I use planet shine and scatterer in game, the shots have also had a wee bit of a grade in photoshop. Hope this helps! :)
