You Know You're A Nerd When:

When you think about your biology class in terms of thermodynamics.
"The kidneys, as well as the lungs and skin, excrete entropy."

When you optimise things like can-crushing.
If you put them all on the ground, so they lie on their sides, and then line up their axis with your foot's longitudinal axis, you can crush each can in one stomp. Just give your foot a bit of forward movement when it hits them. Works (almost) every time!

When you have long conversations about such topics as, "What constitutes a car?"

You know you're a nerd when you can remember your height only by how close it is to the NASA astronaut height limit. I will likely end up very close to the upper limit when I stop growing...

When you play ksp.

When you are good at KSP.

When you got good at KSP by learning about transfer windows and ΔV without mods. My first year or so, before I learned how mods work, was dominated by me holding a protractor up to the screen to find interplanetary trajectories. I still always keep at hand, while playing KSP:

-My phone, with ΔV maps and lists of phase angles
-My graphing calculator, for calculating ΔV, TWR, and other stuff
-My protractor, for when I don't have a phase angle readout
-[and also my tower of cubes, because I always have at least a cube or two at hand]

This thread is a temporary place to test pre-release version of KIS/KAS! Please do not consider the binaries posted here as early versions of the the mods! Try it and enjoy! #KSP

Second thought:

Third thought: "Oh, they mean duplicate versions of the mod."

When you spend hours cringing at the inconsistencies between Star Trek shows.

And when you watch the Reboot and think it's worse then ST:V and when you know what that means. (Voyager.)

And when you can't believe that people don't know the difference  don't keep the differences straight between ST and SW. (Trek and Wars)

When you know those abbreviations without looking at the full versions.

Eh, I kinda liked Voyager. Now, when you compare the reboot to Enterprise...

Yeah, the reboot had a way of cutting out all of the charm and "campiness" from ST and shoving in eye candy instead. BUT! to stay on topic,

When you know pi to the 100th digit.

Darn, I'm only up to 69.

When you can't enjoy any modern arcade games because you've played so many of the old ones, which were actually GOOD and not just money-making strategies comparable to casinos.

We only got the DVD about 2 days earlier. And I have school.

Nope, nope. No excuses. Real nerds were lined up to catch it in theaters on opening day. Most of them saw it twice the first day. Those are nerds. They skipped school or called in to work. If they were broke, they went out and panhandled for the scratch. Real nerds found a way. You, sir, must give up your nerd card.

I'll raise you one... You're definitely a nerd when you know that Reboot was actually one of the first computer animated kid's cartoons!!!

And IMO, was pretty good for it's day....
