My right arm did some spookiness not too long ago!

When i woke up less than 3 hours ago at the time of writing, i felt something move(squirm violently)  under me. At first i thought i had squished one of my housecats, but when i looked at it it was my own hand, completely numb and twitching. (it stopped squirming when it surfaced.) My first instinct was to grab it with my other hand and slam it into the ground near my bed and that did the trick i think, i got some control over it. I think it has something to do with sleeping on it because it was cold and out of circulation, and i got more control as the circulation returned.

I manage to have this from time to time. For me it can be enough to have my arm(s) lying above my head while sleeping on my back. Somehow the blood stream gets compromised and I loose all feeling and control in/of it. Letting it hang down the side of the bed or putting it on my warm stomach is enough to get it going again. As long as it does not happen for seemingly no reason, but only in certain situations, I would not fear about neurological problems.

Partial sleep paralysis?

Possible, but then it should be completely 'dead' and not twitching like Souper says.

But partial sleep paralysis is very real and very weird. Like it was yesterday I remember getting out of bed a few years ago immediately followed by a face-plant to the floor. My right leg was completely 'gone' It took about a minute before I could feel and move it again. Very weird. A true 'WTF-just-happened?' moment

Well, not just twitching...... It moved its fingers and wrist randomly. I was half-asleep, but i remember it moving its pinky, ring, and middle finger as if it was grasping something. Then i think it bent its wrist back. It did it kinda slowly and like it didn't really have the energy for it, which i'll guess is because of poor blood circulation. But it certainly wasn't "IT'S PARTY TIME!" spazzing out (at least not after i removed it from under me.)

You haven't been reading any weird books bound in some unusual type of leather, possibly called the Necronomicon? If so, repeat after me: Klaatu, Verata, Nic..... um, I forget that last word. Just fake it, it'll be okay

Just oxygen deprivation from restricted circulation.

While certainly not something that you should try to replicate, if you regained complete functionality and currently experience no pain or other discomfort (other than perhaps mild pain in shoulder/elbow from prolonged unnatural position and stress), there is no need for alarm.

However, if there still is any discoloration of the skin and loss of functionality, then the medical professionals at the nearest ER should be the ones you talk to, not some random strangers on internet forums.

Had full in a leg once too, totaly weird, stod up from bed to turn of the alarm clock and fell on floor did not knew anything was wrong before I fell, leg was cold and no feeling.
Have managed to block blood circulation in my legs a few times resting knees on the seat in front of me on the train blocking of blood circulation and making it hard to walk.

Neck tie?

I have woken a few times to a limp noodle where my arm used to be. The first time scared me, having me think I had permanently lost the use of my arm.. I was later informed that it was due to nerve compression. I thought it was due to lack of blood to my arm. I would spin it to try and get more blood into it..!

I used to get "noodle arm" a lot years ago, haven't had it happen in ages though.  Now sure how, but on several occasions, I've woken up with both arms completely dead, the alarm clock blaring, and trying ineffectively to turn it off by flicking my shoulders to make my limp noodle arms hit the button.
