When you go to sleep stressed because you need to catch a plane early in the morning, so in your dreams you're planning the fastest route to the airport using Hohmann transfers and maneuver nodes.

When reading this you first thought about orbital plane insertion not airplane

When you are helping run a lego robotics club, and you feel an instinct to replace the many little parts on a counterweight with larger, less complex parts.

And when you help a kid disassemble a segment for modification, both of you forget how it went together in the first place, and you feel the urge for press Crtl+Z...

But then again, that happens to me when using paper.

You know you've played too much KSP when you write your college paper about satellites because you know you can pad it out with stuff about orbital mechanics.

I rote a review of Kerbal for a course I did on astronomy. It was like converting gameplay time into uni study time.

When playing baseball, wondering what amount of Delta V your last hit was worth. Mentally plotting it's course and noting an imaginary apogee flag.

-snip-

When seeing road-side warning signs powered by solar panels, and wondering if that's the optimal placement of OX-STAT panels.

I do something similar in tennis, but I always did that. I do the same thing with solar panels...

I once did a full strategy guide on how to beat Emerald Weapon for FFVII on my 10th grade SAT's for the free writing essay. The topic was "write something in way to help others out".

When you're loading up your backpack to head to school or work, and think to yourself, "I sure have a lot of dead-weight to deliver this payload. Maybe there's a more efficient design."

:) True story, happened yesterday.
