Why do all the good mod makers leave their mods to rot? I know a few are still here, but they seem to just stop, drop, and disappear.

I think it was ignored largely at first.. I don't forsee this being hard to mod though. Anyone willing or able will have my life long respect and admiration.

So you want someone to make a new one to work with 1.1 update? I know a few modders, I will see what I can do.

-update

None of my friends knew how to do it right off the bat, but one of them (of the three) is willing to take a look and see if he can figure it out, he will let me know by tomorrow if he is up for the job.

Damn tootin! That would be amazing man, thank you. Given that the OP of the mod has not visited for nearly a year I don't think he is coming back.

Eeek! Thank you! I think it might just be a case of deleting a value or just setting it really really high, but, what the hell do I know. I wait with bated breath.

My friend only knows how to import models from blender, and attach nodes, collision meshes, etc, making engines, and wing parts, so on, he does not know how to modify the game to have no offsets, so he doesn't want to take up his time working on this. Dang.

I'm looking up tutorials for KSP modding and so on to try and find out what someone would need to do in order to do this.

Somebody NEEDS to do this. Honestly I dont really feel like building bigger things without EER and this mod.

I'm downloading software capable of reading and editing such files, and so on, hopefully I can figure out what I need to edit to get an infinite offset.

Well I know (next to) nothing about coding, but the first step should be the same as when troubleshooting a mechanical error on a car. Open it up and have a look, to see if there's anything obvious rattling around in there that should be bolted down. Open the plugin in Visual Studio and see what it looks like, perhaps it's a very simple code, who knows?

Edit: So pretty much exactly what He_162 wrote while I was typing. :)

That is what I am about to do.

Just opened it up in Visual Studio, but I'm waaaaay to tired to figure out how to open the file in a readable way as I'm brand new to visual studio. I need to go to bed, the kids have kindergarten early in the morning. I wish He_162 the best of luck, and I'm making amental note to watch some basic tutorials on visual studio. Never hurts to learn something new.

Good luck guys!

As a user of the no-offset-limits mod... (and a modder... and programmer...) I might be willing to update this after I have my mod updated/working.  Likely wouldn't be for a few weeks though... still not sure how bad the breakage is yet.

Thanks! I have opened it up in notepad++ so far to check it out, waiting for visual studio to update.

@Majorjim

It seems as though it just replaces the code for the offset tool, with his own new code, and his is designed to have no limit for the offset, or possibly just a really big number as you said, the size of the hangar.

EDIT

In his own code, he left something for anyone who wanted to read it:

"Removes limits from offset gizmo. Limits are enforced in EditorLogic::onOffsetGizmoUpdate. This recreates the gizmo after the st_offset_tweak state is entered and reimplements the offset logic without limits."

So basically, it just removes the limits, and updates it resetting the offset without limits upon startup.

OOh nice find man! Sounds very promising.

Hello, everyone.  I'm most definitely willing to help update this.  I'm definitely one of those who loves this mod.  Has anyone put it on GitHub?

I think his whole source code is included with his mod? Idk. He has a folder called "Source" and "Plugins" included with the mod.

Yeah, I have it downloaded.  I'm just wondering if anyone here did.  :)

I don't think so.

OK, I'll start a group.  Anyone who is going to be working on this, please send me your github.
