The AA pack contains a twin .50 MG blister and a twin .50 turret. Are these two weapons each, one weapon (part) each, and is the ball turret banned?

all turrets are banned.

Does the BigS elevon give a player an unfair heat defense advantage? If not, then only Big S wings are not permitted.

Actually the firespitter parts are similar in heat ratings as the stock parts. Apart from looks and weight of the plane, it's comparable to a stock part plane.

I did try to build a stock part version, but unfortunately the weight penalty was ridiculous in my opinion. The firespitter Fokker weighs in at 2.08 tonnes, and a look-a-like stock plane weighs in at 4 tonnes.

I did compensate by running the KAX tail rotor as the engine (15kN thrust) and it's comparable to the real Fokker (58 m/s top speed).

Considering the Firespitter plane is far lighter than the stock parts, I ran the smallest engine I could find.

DRAFT: Air Superiority Challenge III Entry Rules:

Kerbal Aircraft Expansion (required for liquid fueled propeller engines only, no other parts permitted)

Inigma I was wondering why you don't want to use any other body parts from KAX? There are a lot of useful parts for WWI/WW2 planes :)

OK, as long as you are confident the hosts computers can render battles >= 30 fps I'm cool with it. I don't have anything made for ASCIII yet, and I will be out of commission for the next week or so.

@JollyGreenGI Any chance you could do a 4v4 test with your fabulous "sweep" triplane? And give us a demo youtube video? Maybe check FPS in the alt-f12 menu a couple times during battle?

I'm not worried about the 4vs4. We are pushing a max of 8x50=400 parts and No missiles. Versus ASC-2=6x100 = 600 parts + dozens of missiles vessels with their laggy smoke particles.

I've recording the most part of the matches for ASC-2 and I feel this series are going to be much more smoother that the previous. I have an average of 35-40 FPS (all video settings maxed out, scaterer and EVE),  versus 18-25 FPS when all the missiles were fired in ASC-2.

I am not sure my plane can beat the current king as it was specifically designed to beat the battle wing by exploiting its weakness.

I have a legal design which pretty much eats the current king (and the Battlewing) for breakfast. Inigma went and ended the challenge before I got round to entering! I'll do a video of my own.

And here you go my fellow Kerbo-nots .... Another test run of 4v4 with BDA, Aviator Arsenal, KAX, BDA Vessel Switcher, Destruction Effects, Firespitter, Take Command and Vessel Mover

One thing I will note for those using Aviator Arsenal, the module that implements the Wing Commander was not included in the original download of AA and I'm not sure if it has been corrected ... It is required to run Competition Mode, see below on how to fix this

That looks great! The sim time is always yellow, and there's a few hiccups where you can tell the FPS is under 30 but totally acceptable throughout. Nice looking planes too!

Running into issues with Sweep and Vessel Mover, expect delays on the video...

EDIT: And now guns aren't firing, great. At 25fps tho.

So in the BAD T2 tournament it was discovered that using 'Spawn Vessel' made things go wonky ... Don't use the spawn

It's a hassle but just launch a craft then use Vessel Mover to move it off the runway then return to the space center and do it again

It does?

Well, I'll fix that.

The AI Antenna and the Ring antenna are on your craft ... Apparently there is some issue with the ring antenna in AA so I would recommend not using it, just use either the AI Antenna from AA or a weapon manager and an AI pilot from the original BDA

It seems that the Antenna and the AI Flight Computer do the same thing too, so I have removed the extra flight computer as well as the ring.

At least in a moment, forgot to remove the ring.

Yes, the Antenna is a combo of the BDA AI Pilot and the Weapon Manager ... It is only missing the Wingman Module which is what the ring antenna is used for
