How did you (KSP Dev Team) not notice this obvious bug?

I tried 1.1 experimental to see how far along you were 2 weeks ago and one of the fist bugs I noticed, literally in 10 minutes, was the LY-10 gear causing my planes to jerk wildly. It was pretty obvious, you could tell by the plane COMING APART AND EXPLODING on the runway. Unless this is a feature of the game I don't understand how something so obvious could not be noticed, especially when it was reported in the 1.1 Forum. Does anyone on the dev team read the posts there, or are you just too busy trying to meet an arbitrary deadline and missing THE POINT (which is to improve the game, not break it - in case you forgot)

I just don't get after having so many opportunities and so much time to fix this, you STILL release a new version with a major bug in it. Are you guys from this planet? Good thing I keep backups because I am used to your shenanigans.

And here I am complaining, because someone has to, the game it out of alpha and beta and I paid money for it. Yet you still treat this like it's some paid for alpha game and take liberties with releasing buggy builds and then 5 patches to fix it. We are not your testing team. I am NOT part of your testing department.

1.1 took forever to come out (and it's still not done) and I would expect better quality especially for a game that is not exactly small time anymore. At least don't break my save game if you can help it. I spent many hours building my planes and I am tired of having you keep breaking them.

Hey hey hey! Have you read the message that appears after the 1.1 pre-release game loads? If not, read it and better do it twice.

If you still have complaints just play 1.0.5 stable version (because it is stable as you want it to be) until 1.1 release is out. Now it is just pre-release for those who wants to help with development process by  taking part in the test phase and not something you have paid for yet. So read the message once again.

Have you tried it in 1.1 yet?  It's been released for realz.

I'm not playing the pre-release. This was updated on my steam, I opted out of betas after testing 1.1.

Oh.  Well, you just explained that you experienced the bug two weeks ago during experimentals/open beta.  Are you still experiencing it?

Holy cow.  Someone is grumpy.

Hey, apparently someone has to complain; it's a proven fact that complaining loudly without any evidence of an actual problem gets results.

There's something really messed up. I've just checked and the steam news page says that 1.1 "Turbo charged" release is out but the pre-release message window still appears in the game. Several hours ago there was a topic on the "Daily Kerbal" saying that the release is out but it was deleted in 10 minutes. There's definitely a mistake somewhere. So if it is indeed the pre-release still I suppose he could get it by mistake.

I have version 1.1.0.1230, the release version for Linux, on my machine and running now with no pre-release message.  Furthermore, OP specifically stated that the issue happened two weeks ago in their pre-release version.

So, yeah, there's something really messed up.

You have to Opt out of the Beta program to get the official 1.1 release. At least this did the trick for me.

@finky45 Have you only looked in the forum or also at the bugtracker? Squad explicidly stated many times that they can only take those bugs into account that are reported there. The forum is just too busy to allow them to extract every single reported bug from there.

If not, it would have been wise to report it there. How should they fix a bug they don't know about?

Opted out of the betas and got the release. Starting to hate Steam.

Why hate on Steam?  That's standard branch management.

Oh yes, my appologies. Opted out of the betas and got the release. Starting to hate Steam.

Steam is doing the correct thing here. You selected the pre-release build, and it's giving you what is expected of that branch. Everyone else who's been running the stable version of the game was upgraded when the stable branch was. Hopefully the oldstable followed this or does soon and this can be used to play 1.0.5 for those having issues.

Is it right if I'm subscribed to betas to get them only? Anyway won't argue, that's not the point of this topic.

Yes, you're on the beta branch.  Were you on the main branch you would have received the update.  It's not up to Steam to manage what branch you're downloading since you could be on a different branch for all sorts of reasons.

I think what OP means is:

"I tested 1.1 prerelease two weeks ago and saw an obvious bug that I was sure would be noticed and fixed. I went back to 1.0.5, but now - two weeks later - I get the official 1.1 release and the bug is still there."

Did I understand you right, @finky45?
