Exactly the same here. Ubuntu 16.04, KDE, nvidia, 64bit.

Every time I start KSP and a mod that uses Kopernicus is installed I get Kerbin (or better every body that is modified by Kopernicus mods) looking like in your screenshot.

The solution is to go to the settings and just change the resolution of the texture. Apply it. Then change it back if you want.

Exit the preferences and have fun.

Fix spelling and be more precise about which body is wrogly displayed.

No idea.  Send logs and probably your mod list.  I won't be able to get to it until I get back from vacation on thursday

Okay, I tried with a fresh KSP installation and only SVT 1.42 and its dependencies installed. Thus it's not an issue between different Kopernicus mods. There is indeed an exception thrown and made it into the logs.

Hello, I'm getting stripes on the planets using this mod,
I've noticed from previous comments that this isn't unusual but how exactly can I fix it?

Read back a few pages there are some potential fixes. Linux  and Mac users have issues with this mod

I dont mean to be the dumb guy, but I am following the instructions and installed Kopernicus no problem. Then:

2.Drop SVEKopernicus into GameData folder.

Where do I get SVEKopernicus from? The large DOWNLOAD link just reloads page 1 of this thread

EDIT:

I managed to find a download for SVEKopernicus on github, and installed it. However, I dont think it worked. Perhaps I should wait for CKAN to update and do that - this might be too confusing for me.

Here's a dumb question for somebody who doesn't mean to be the dumb guy, but are you using KSP 1.1.3 or 1.2? Kopernicus hasn't been updated for KSP 1.2.

What is going to happen when I load my 1.1.3 game into 1.2 without installing this mod? Am I going to find bases underground and floating in the air? And are bases that were previously on flat bits of hilly areas suddenly going to be on steep slopes?

Only if you have any vessels on Moho Minmus tylo or gilly.  They all have new heightmaps in this mod so if you switch it over to 1.2 the stock height might make your vessle float or sink.  Just make a copy of your save.  Try loading your game and see what happens.

1.2

I see that SVE and SVE:Sunflares is updated (at least on CKAN), but not the terrain textures (or Kopernicus). Guess i need to level up my patience and await.

Kopernicus just updated and ill be working on a new update this weekend to make visuals and performance better. This version should work with the latest Kopernicus though

Huzzah, Galileo!  Thanks!  1.2 is now nearly complete.  I'm looking forward to having it ready to fire up.

Quick question. I've got stuff on the surface of Duna. Would installing this now risk kersploding anything from differing terrain heights?

It shouldn't.  I'm getting ready to upload an update though.  I know for a fact the new update won't kersplode anything :)  give me an hour

UPDATE

1.5

  • Updated for 1.2
  • New textures for some celestial bodies
  • Better performance
  • No more height maps or normal maps
    • This allows for mod to be installed/uninstalled at any time without vessels being destroyed.
    • No more floating/impossible to reach points during missions.
  • May have fixed issues with OpenGL users (Macs and Linux)
  • Now using built-in meshes and textures for scatter objects (better performance)

Just installed the 1.5 version and it worked, however, I no longer have any of the cloud effects from the previous installation of SVE/Scatterer. Will try a fresh KSP install with only these 3 mods and see what happens.

If you noticed there weren't any clouds in the main menu,  that is just a bug of kopernicus.  Just because it's not on the main menu doesn't mean it's broken in game.

Is it possible to selectively disable the effects on any one planet without breaking the mod? I spend almost no time exploring Kerbin, so I end up taking a nasty performance hit at launch and reentry for the sake of textures that I never really appreciate anyway. I'd love to be able to revert Kerbin to stock but keep the enhancements for everywhere else.

I gave up on KSPRC for the same reason, but I really miss the beautiful Mun landings.

Yeah just go into the SVE kopernicus/kerbin folder and delete the Kerbin.cfg
