I've recently added the Operation Monsun mod, which makes it even better, allowing full careers in both theaters of the war.

I'm running TMO, have been for quite a long time.  I've actually never touched the u-boats in SH4.

COMSUBPAC- We have air conditioning and ice cream machines!

BDU- we have a popular movie all about us (Das Boot) and those super cool Elektroboote!

It also doesn't take at least 30 seconds to crash-dive a U-boat...

Yeah, but we get to come back up afterwards.  That's why we have sixteen of our boats on display.  (And one of yours.)

Alright, that is a pretty good film.  We need a good WWII Fleet boat movie.  All the ones I know of are black&white.

Nothing too special... I flicker between Team Fortress 2, Minecraft, and Skyrim. I've also played Portal 2, but there's no replay value in puzzle games, so I can't play it again.;.;

I want a Nintendo system so I can play Zelda and Pokemon. They seem fun.

I would beg to differ on that. Since Portal 2 has an actual plot, and a ton of Easter eggs, I believe it has a ton of replay value. I have played it twice so far, and I spent my time trying to get all the Easter eggs and hidden achievements. I still haven't found them all. There are a lot. Also there are community test chambers, and the cooperative mode. So I would have to differ on that.

My biggest distraction from KSP lately has been Red Dead Redemption: just finished a second time through, and first time making it 100%.  It's still a beautiful game.  Starting on the Undead Nightmare now.

Starbound, starmade, empyrion, space engineers, spintires, portal 1 or 2, factorio, infinifactory, subnautica, doom... or some $2 thing off steam.

I have never been tempted to go back to guild wars2, the game ksp freed me from. 3 years sober next month!

Whoa, hang on a second, there are more than that still around. U-505 in the US, U-995 (and U-534, but that's a special case) in Germany, and I'm pretty sure at least one Type XXI is on display over there as well.

Going off how many are on display is pretty biased anyway, since a lot of the U-boats that survived the war were destroyed by the Allies one way or another. So even though only 3 are left, there were actually 48 that survived the war. Still a losing figure, but if your going to point out your success, at least don't exaggerate it.

And don't worry, I have a fleet boat campaign going on right now as well (USS Gar, Pearl Harbor), although I don't know if Operation Monsum screwed it up or not. I sure hope not, because I haven't even reached June, 1942 and I've already sunk a battleship.

On the film: Yes, we need more WW2 submarine movies in general. Fortunately, I hear Das Boot is getting a sequel in 2018.

Carrier Command(AtariST), MidWinter(AtariST), Master of Orion...  I got quite a few oldies to change the mood.

I hear ya on that, but as I originally had those on my Amiga 1000, I use the Amiga Emulator...one less piece of hardware to maintain!

Otherwise, I play the following in between KSP sessions:

Subnautica, Factorio, The Long Dark, Eidolon, FSX with a bunch of add-ons, XCOM... I was involved in beta testing of Carrier Command - Gaea Mission; that could have been so much better than it was, even after modding. It seems to have died a quick death after release.

I did not try the remake of Carrier command because I heard it was a scripted battle with human marines...  Which is not what the original was about.  A far cry from "The ACC Omega was taken up by terrorist and threatened activation against an archipelago to destroy it if they did not receive 15 billion dolars...  Then the Govt activated "you" an automated older model carrier, the ACC Epsilon . which explained why the attack aircraft and amphibious vehicule lost radio contact and crashed."

Which is most likely why the game failed.  It alienated it's original fans (there isn't 10 million of us) and failed to grab the audience of today (unlike KSP to some extent).  A shame, but improving on remakes is not a good idea if you don't keep their core ideas intact.

X-Com (Again, the original, why do remakes sucks? They really should learn to upgrade graphics/sounds, and fix bugs and stop) is one of my top 10 fav games of all times.  I've not played seriously in years, but even with an emulator it's getting harder and harder to play.

interesting to see other peeps game choices, well while im waiting for various ksp fixes, ive been spending my game time on :-

* Assetto Corsa

* Evochron Legacy

* Albion Prelude

* Footy Mgr16

* RCT3 Platinum

Oh and im still waiting for Stellaris to sort itself out before i give that another chance.

I tend to spend more time waiting for games to sort themselves out or debugging than i do playing, which has led me to not buy and get involved with early access or newly released (supposedly finished) products anymore, wish i had made decision before pre-purchasing stellaris. lol hey ho lesson learnt (i hope)

Wow, thanks for all the responses.  I think I'm in a rut, I need to defiantly try some of the games mentioned here, right now though I can  feel some little green people calling to me that they are feeling neglected.

I'm not terribly picky. I value gameplay over graphics, so I'll be satisfied with anything Ocarina of Time-era onward.

What I don't like about Nintendo is that you have to buy their hardware to play their games. I don't want to spend hundreds of dollars on a platform that I will use twice.

Well consoles prior to the Wii U tend to be indestructible. I've got a SNES older than I am.

Theres lots of games- maybe expand your library?
