After nearly 5 hours messing with drivers and install settings, I finally got 1.8 working and loaded up the server.

A Creeper than proceeded to blow up the newbie signs/ town bulletin board before I could read them.  :(

I guess Sparky isn't the only one with bad luck in the game...

Can I rent a room? I probably won't be renting it for very long. Only about a week if I can find the all clay I need. And do you mind if I build a tower right across the street from yours? I can probably find another place if that doesn't work. I just thought that if they were close together they would look good together.

Well, I live in the tower and half my house is an indoor farm, so actually compared to my house it's really good. :P

I'm going to build a shop where I'm digging the hole. You can get things by putting an item into the machine and then it gives you the item you want. 

Any ideas for trades? I'm getting all the stuff myself, so you can just sit around and watch me run around getting stuff. I know having a shop isn't a very practical idea, but it's cool!

I could make a basic econ system if you wanted, granted if someone could use basic C#/C++/javascript/etc and make it into a program we could all use then please let me know. It would work off of an excel spreadsheet. But it needs to be modifiable by (let's call them) "admins" of the econ system since supply may increase or decrease which would impact values.

So if you want this let me know and I can set it up. The program would be an awesome bonus.

Or we could install Bukkit and use an existing economy plugin.

Uhh... I just wanted to make a really small shop using redstone where you could buy a few things like food and armor.

Okay guys i've noticed that the server is accumulating 'junk' on it's ram.

Therefore i've set it up that it restarts every day at my local timezone of GMT+1 

The server will warn 10 minutes before and from 5 minutes 'till shutdown every minute that it will restart so that you have time to prepare.

We should build an Iron farm. Basically, you have a bunch of villagers and doors in a tiny area, and Minecraft's code will recognize it as a village, so it will spawn some Iron Golems. So then, it's set up so the golems fall a long way as soon as they spawn, and die. Hoppers pick up the iron they drop.

Iron farms are awesome! I usually prefer to drown the golems, but that's pretty much how it works. We should make 3 of them floating in the air with a mob farm in between them and bunch of big floating rings! (I've been watching a lot of hermitcraft).

Also, is 1 diamond for 1 inventory full of melon slices a fair trade? Don't ask what I'm doing now... Just... Don't ask...
